Asha Parekh receives Dada Saheb Phalke Award at National Film Awards: ‘The recognition comes to me just one day before my 80th birthday’

Veteran actress Asha Parekh was conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award at the 68^th National Film Awards held at Vigyan Bhawan. The awards were delayed by a year due to the pandemic. The 79-year-old actress was honoured with the prestigious award by President Droupadi Murmu.

Asha Parekh said, “It is a huge honour to have received the Dada Saheb Phalke award. It makes me very grateful that the recognition comes to me just one day before my 80th birthday. This is the best honour I could get from the Government of India. I would like to thank the jury for the recognition that they have bestowed upon me, my long journey and fulfilling the journey in the film industry.” She is the recipient of the award for the year 2020.

She added, “Our film industry is the best place to be in. And I would like to suggest to the youngsters who are in this industry to have perseverance, determination, discipline, and to be grounded, and I congratulate all the awardees tonight.’

Last year, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2019 was awarded to superstar Rajinikanth.

Known as one of the most popular and influential actresses of all time in Hindi cinema, Asha Parekh starred in several iconic movies like Teesri Manzil, Kati Patang, Caravan, Do Badan among others. The actress made her debut as a child artist in Bollywood with the 1952 film Aasmaan.

EXID’s Hani to star in coming of age series Fantasy Spot

South Korean singer actress Hani, member of female pop group EXID, is confirmed to star in new Coupang Play series titled Fantasy Spot. The drama is currently slated to premiere sometime later this year. According to Korean tabloid Soompi, Fantasy Spot will tell the story of women in their twenties who want to “live properly” and “feel properly.”

On September 30, Hani’s agency Sublime Artist Agency officially announced, “Actress Ahn Heeyeon [Hani’s given name] has been cast in Coupang Play’s series ‘Fantasy Spot.’”

The statement continued, “Following the wide variety of roles she’s played in her projects up until now, she is preparing to make yet another new and different transformation, so please give her lots of anticipation and love.”

Per the report, Hani will star as Son Hee Jae, a young, warm-hearted woman who wants to get to know and understand herself properly. When she unexpectedly winds up in charge of a podcast, she finds herself changing as she contemplates love once again. Fantasy Spot is currently slated to premiere before the end of 2022.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal recreate ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ vibes in their song ‘Blockbuster’; the actors dance on a moving truck

Starring Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, the recent single titled ‘Blockbuster’ by Dhamaka Records is gaining attention. The video of the song exudes an extravagant feel with an international vibe as it features luxury cars, outstanding outfits, suave dance moves, and more. Sometimes actors go the extra mile to get the perfect shot and sometimes, it’s easier said than done. In the case of the song ‘Blockbuster’, there was a scene that required the stars to be in a moving truck, and instead of doing the shot with effects, Sonakshi and Zaheer decided to shoot on a moving truck.

The scene in the song features the two actors dancing on a truck which definitely didn’t seem easy. Opening up about the challenge of the same Sonakshi Sinha said, “I really enjoyed working on the song and my most exciting scene was when we had to shoot on the truck. There were challenges as it is tough to deliver a shot on a vehicle but I’m glad we did it and I’m very thankful that the audiences love the track! We have made it with a lot of love and hard work. Dancing in the truck gave me full ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ vibes!”

Zaheer added, “It is definitely a challenge to shoot in a truck but we already had planned to do it for our audiences and give them something new and memorable. I am quite delighted that we could shoot the song as per our plan and fortunately, we nailed the shot in only a few takes! Blockbuster has really been a blockbuster with the audience and it’s fun to see all the reels that are made with the song too!”

Priyaank Sharma of Dhamaka Records shared, “We really wanted to do something unique and out of the box for the audience to experience a visual treat.  We wanted the vibe of a party in a truck and we managed to achieve that!” Yet another member from Dhamaka, Paras Mehta added, “We had a wonderful time shooting the entire song. Shooting on a truck was a task but we did it and it’s really nice to receive so much love and praises for the song.”

The song ‘Blockbuster’ released on September 23 and is produced by Dhamaka Records. It is sung by Ammy Virk and Asees Kaur and features Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal on a music video together for the first time.

Alia Bhatt reveals the inspiration behind naming her brand Ed-A-Mamma

Not only known as an actress, but Alia Bhatt is also a producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and investor. It is not just being on camera, the actress has also kicked off her production house and is the founder of the kids apparel brand Ed-A-Mamma. Speaking about the clothing line, and the uniqueness of its name, the Brahmastra actress had interesting anecdotes to share when she recently attended the Forbes event, Tycoons of Tomorrow.

Speaking about how Ed-A-Mamma came into being, Alia shared, “Actually, the way Ed-A-Mamma happened was a byproduct of a conversation we were having about me starting a clothing line of my own. And I was really not sure whether people really care about it. They come and watch my movies but just because I am starting a clothing line doesn’t mean they will come and buy it. So I asked my team to do a little bit of research and said okay, let’s find the gap in the market. Turns out there was a genuine gap as there was no strong homegrown Indian kids wear clothing brand. I wondered why not explore that. I did not have an idea of how much the gap was. When the process like researching and developing began, it was an eye opener.”

Further elaborating on choosing such a brand name, Alia said, “My cat’s name is Edward and I am his Mama. So, Ed-A-Mamma! Because at the end of the day, mothers are the ones that shop for their babies, at least most of the time! Fathers also do but still. At that point of time, I was also working on this children’s storybook of this young girl and her dog who go on these adventures. It was my way of nurturing this love in children for nature because that’s something I am very passionate about.”

“The awareness that we should have as people living on this planet is a responsibility that we should bring to the table. And the best way to cultivate that for the future is to instill those habits in a way that interests the child. So it started off with a story telling book and then it merged with the idea of an apparel brand for the kids. That’s where the idea of Ed-A-Mamma came from,” she concluded.

Alia Bhatt opens up about her new range of maternity wear; reveals it’s a part of her apparel brand Ed-A-Mamma

Amidst the grand success of Brahmastra, new producer-entrepreneur Alia Bhatt has decided to add yet another feather to her cap. After launching the brand Ed-A-Mamma, which was solely dedicated to kids’ wear, the mother-to-be has launched her collection of maternity wear. In a recent post shared by the actress, announcing the launch of her maternity wear, she mentioned that she modified her own clothes to be her maternity wear because she believes there isn’t enough explored when it comes to maternity fashion. At the recent Forbes event Tycoons of Tomorrow, where Alia Bhatt was one of the speakers, the actress spoke about launching this new collection.

In the recent Forbes event, Alia Bhatt opened up about her ‘investor’ side where she spoke about her entrepreneurial skills and what pushed her to start her maternity line. “What started off as a gap in my wardrobe turned out to be a whole maternity line,” she said. She also revealed that she was wearing her own maternity line at the event. “These are really comfy lounge pants. It’s Ed-A-Mamma, Maternity Wear. This was like a lounge set but the layer was not making any sense. It was looking like I was coming to the lounge like a Forbes event. So I paired it up with this blazer which is not mine. But that’s what I discovered! The maternity wear was all a certain style which was screaming maternity. I wanted to bring my own style into it which is what I did,” added the actress.

Speaking of her forthcoming films, Alia Bhatt is currently gearing up for the release of her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone where she co-stars an ensemble cast including Gal Gadot. She also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh, in the pipeline. Coming to Ed-A-Mamma, the actress will be launching the new collection of maternity wear on October 1.

Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar shares his ordeal with mental health; reveals, “I was in therapy”

Filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan season 7 followed its legacy and stood by what it promised to fans. From seeing Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan in their rawest form to seeing some fresh pairs gracing the couch; each episode of KWK7 delivered nothing but entertainment. However, the table turned for Karan Johar in the last ‘award show’ episode. 

For the unversed, the last episode of Koffee With Karan 7 welcomed social media influencers and comedians Kusha Kapila, Niharika NM, Tanmay Bhat and Danish Sait as jury members. While grilling the filmmaker, the social media stars shed some light on Karan’s personal life with their quirky question. During one such candid conversation, Johar talked about dealing with anxiety and being in therapy.

Firstly, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director spoke about the mean comments he receive online. KJo said that over the years, he has built some kind of thick skin, and now, it doesn’t bother him the way people think it should bother him. He also elaborated that he finds the online criticism “completely putrid and awful”. 

As he continued, the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham director further added, “There was an anxiety issue that I combatted 5 years ago and that was when I really opened up. You know, when I spoke to my doctor and she was a psychologist and she said that you are actually brushing everything so deep within that you actually think that you are dealing with it and that you have thick skin but actually you are shoving it into a dark, deep area and that’s all going to pop up at some time.”

On the same note, he went on to say, “So, she said you shouldn’t. So, at least I started talking about this fact to people because I was not even telling people that I was in therapy and that I was going through an issue of anxiety for 3 or 4 years.”

In conclusion, the 50-year-old filmmaker asserted, “I am feeling much better now because I was speaking to my close ones about the fact that it had got to me in some way because I think every issue, whether it is anxiety or depression, it’s spiralling from somewhere, right? Like maybe, I am thinking it’s because of a broken heart but it is also because of ABC reason. So now I just talk about it much more and it sucks at times”. 

On the professional front, KJo will soon mark his directorial comeback with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.

Vikram Vedha: Hrithik Roshan loves ‘ensemble’ movies; says Saif Ali Khan has always been ‘real’

Vikram Vedha, the Hindi remake of Tamil film with the same name, has finally released on the big screen after much anticipation. The film, which was originally headlined by R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi, stars Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan in lead roles. Hrithik Roshan, for a couple of years, has been doing ensemble films with Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, War and more and he loves doing them.

“I love doing an ensemble. The more the merrier. Like I did in ZNMD, War and now with Saif, it pushes you to do better because you see wonderful acting. Each time I have done a two-hero or an ensemble film, it has been way better and more fun for me,” the Vikram Vedha actor told PTI in an interview.

Speaking of working with Saif Ali Khan, he said, “Saif has always been real. He has never tried to be someone he is not. When the rest of the actors were trying to be the hero, trying to have that swag, he was just being himself.”

Vikram Vedha is an action-thriller written & directed by Pushkar-Gayatri. The story is full of twists and turns, as a tough cop Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) sets out to track and chase a dreaded gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan).

Vikram Vedha is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks & Jio Studios and a YNOT Studios Production. Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya makers unveil eerie teaser of the horror-comedy, watch

Bollywood actors Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are gearing up for their next release, Bhediya. The film marks the third project in Maddock Films’ horror-comedy genre, following Stree and Roohi. After a long wait, the makers have finally announced the release date of the trailer which is October 19, marking the 10th anniversary of Varun Dhawan.

Maddock Films took to Twitter on Friday to make the announcement. Along with it, the makers unveiled the teaser. The video takes us into the mystic hills of Arunachal Pradesh as we witness many suspenseful moments and hear a simmering folk tribute to the mythical Bhediya. The official trailer is scheduled to launch on the 19th of October, celebrating 10 years of Varun’s journey in the industry.

The Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon starrer marks director Amar Kaushik’s third feature after Stree and Bala, teaming once again with Jio Studios and Maddock Films. Looks like Amar is all set to entertain everyone with a grand creature comedy in his latest outing. Bhediya also unites Dinesh Vijan and Varun Dhawan after the success of Badlapur.

As per an earlier report in Bollywood Hungama, the trailer will be attached to Vikram Vedha in theatres. An exhibition source said, “The teaser of Bhediya will be attached with the prints of Vikram Vedha, which will hit cinemas on September 30. All multiplexes have got the intimation today about it and have been asked to schedule the shows accordingly. Vikram Vedha is expected to record huge footfalls. The makers of Bhediya will be at an advantage as they’ll get a chance to exhibit their VFX-heavy and big-scale film to the moviegoers on the big screen.”

The source further said, “Since the teaser will be shown on the big screen next Friday, it is expected to be out on digital sometime mid-week. The industry has strong hopes for it as the announcement teaser, which was unveiled last year with Roohi (2021), was well-received. Moreover, it also belongs to the same universe as Stree (2018) and this will further up the hype for Bhediya.”

The first look of Bhediya released in November 2021. The film will be heavy on visual effects, where Varun Dhawan plays a werewolf. Featuring Hollywood’s premier effects studio Mr. X, the Amar Kaushik directorial is touted to boast exquisite visual effects. Mr. X, the award-winning effects company, part of Technicolor Creative Studios, is renowned for its stellar creature and environment work in the Oscar-nominated Love and Monsters as well as the Emmy-winning Vikings.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bhediya is written by National Award winner, Niren Bhatt. Jio Studios & Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films present, Bhediya, is slated to release on November 25, 2022.

Hombale Films announces their next titled Dhoomam starring Fahadh Faasil

With projects like KGF and Salaar already in its kitty, Hombale Films have now announced yet another interesting project. And this one features Vikram star Fahadh Faasil along with South actress Aparna Balamurali. The Malayalam actor, who also stars in another South language films, will be seen playing the lead in this one. Rumours of Fahadh featuring in a film directed by Pawan Kumar have been doing the rounds for the few months. Confirming the same, Hombale Films have taken to their social media to announce this project titled Dhoomam that will be directed by Pawan Kumar.

Reports had it that Pawan Kumar had roped in Fahadh Faasil after the untimely demise of Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar. Although Hombale Films haven’t announced many details about Dhoomam, they revealed that the film will go on floors in October 2022. The production house has also tagged popular Malayalam actor Roshan Matthew in the post indicating his presence in the film. The team of the film added the tag line, “What you sow, so shall you reap” which has sparked speculations that it can be a revenge drama.  Along with the cast and team of the film, Hombale Films also released a social media page of the film as well as a title announcement poster on their Twitter page:

Speaking of the team of the film featuring Fahadh Faasil, Aparna Balamurali, and Roshan Matthew, Dhoomam will have Preetha Jayaraman as the cinematographer whereas Poornachandra Tejaswi will be composing the music for the film and Anees Nadodi will be the art director.

25 James Bond films head to Prime Video ahead of 60th anniversary

As part of the 60th-anniversary celebration of the James Bond franchise, Prime Video unveiled the official posters and trailers of The Sound of 007, a Mat Whitecross-helmed feature documentary about the remarkable history of six decades of James Bond music that will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in 240 countries and territories worldwide from October 25. Prime members can also stream all 25 of the Bond franchise films on the service.

Additionally, following the live October 4 EON Productions and David Arnold-created charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall, Prime Video will globally stream an exclusive recording of the show—The Sound of 007: LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall. At the event, guest vocalists and a host of stars will perform iconic Bond themes.

The Sound of 007 was directed by BIFA- and BAFTA-nominee Mat Whitecross for Prime Video and MGM. The feature documentary pulls back the curtain on the remarkable history of six decades of James Bond music, taking viewers on a journey from Sean Connery’s Dr. No through to Daniel Craig’s final outing in No Time To Die. Produced by John Battsek at Ventureland, MGM, and EON Productions, the film charts the incredible history of the music, enthralling true tales behind the tunes and famous faces who have recorded some of the most beloved soundtracks in cinema.

The Sound of 007: LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall is an exclusive recording of the official charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall on October 4. Guest vocalists will join a lineup curated by five-time Bond composer David Arnold. The concert marks 60 years since the world premiere of Dr. No, the first 007 film, on October 5, 1962. Honoring the franchise’s long tradition of supporting charitable causes, the proceeds of The Sound of 007: LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall will benefit two music charities: Nordoff Robbins and The BRIT Trust. Following the concert, a custom Duesenberg guitar signed by Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, David Arnold, and the artists will be auctioned online at Christie’s to raise additional funds for the music charities.

Prabhas launches first teaser poster as he plays Lord Ram in Ramayana epic Adipurush, see photo

After much a wait, the first glimpse of Prabhas starrer Adipurush is here. Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh, the film has grabbed the eyeballs since its inception. The much-anticipated teaser of the film is set to be unveiled on October 2 on the banks of river Sarayu in the holy land of Lord Ram, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The grand event will be graced with the presence of superstar Prabhas and Kriti Sanon along with director Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar. Ahead of the launch event, the makers unveiled the teaser poster on Friday morning at 7.11 am.

The film is based on Ramayana, showcasing the triumph of good over evil. This religious town where the launch event will take place in Uttar Pradesh is also the birthplace of Lord Ram, making the location much more relevant for this grand event.

Produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles, the film features Prabhas as Lord Ram, while Kriti plays the role of Janaki (Sita). It also stars Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh and Sunny Singh as Lakshman. Adipurush is a visual extravaganza slated to release on January 12, 2023, in IMAX and 3D. It will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam in theatres

Ayan Mukerji reveals he wanted to do a bear sequence like the lavish animal sequence in RRR; confessed he couldn’t do it due to budget constraints

Brahmastra has gone on to roar at the box office with the film receiving a lot of appreciation from fans and viewers. Despite the low phase in Bollywood, the fantasy adventure bringing together real-life couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together for the first time, has been doing good business at the box office. While expectations are riding high not just for Part One but also for the upcoming two parts of the trilogy, Ayan Mukerji has asserted that the next parts will be academically inclined towards Indian mythology rather than human emotions. Recalling his experience of shooting for Part One, the filmmaker revealed that he had to comprise on shots due to budget constraints including a scene that was eventually incorporated in the SS Rajamouli film RRR.

Reminiscing about one such incident, Ayan Mukerji revealed during FICCI 2022, that he had planned a bear sequence quite similar to the one showcased in RRR featuring Junior NTR. However, he couldn’t achieve what SS Rajamouli could, because of budget restrictions. Speaking about the kind of compromises he had to make during Brahmastra, Ayan said during a media interaction, “I think there is no life or relationship without compromise. Even in Brahmastra, there were many times when I had thought of something but couldn’t do it that way or there were times when we hoped we could do it but were not able to. Let me tell you something interesting. In RRR, there is this interval sequence where all the animals jump out, which is an incredible sequence. That sequence is done by Namit’s company as well. A few years ago, I had thought of such an incredible sequence with a bear in Brahmastra. But due to budget constraints, we had to cut the bear out of part one but it was a great sequence. Now in RRR, they managed to put the sequence with a lot of other animals. Even now, when I meet Namit I ask him about how he made me compromise on the bear sequence. So you do compromise but still, try to do your best.”

Speaking of Brahmastra, the film features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles along with Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. It released on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. On the other hand, RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli starring Ram Charan, Junior NTR, along with Alia Bhatt released on March 24.

Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee starrer Gyeongseong Creature to be a Netflix K-drama; Wi Ha Joon and Claudia Kim join the series

Netflix is set to bring Gyeongseong Creature to viewers around the globe. The thriller series follows individuals going up against monstrous creatures that were born out of human greed. Set in the spring of 1945, in the city of Gyeongseong, the series is highly anticipated due to the sheer amount of talent tied to it. Park Seo Joon, who received acclaim for his roles in the dramas Itaewon Class and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, and Han So Hee of My Name fame will headline the project.

Park Seo Joon plays Jang Tae Sang – the head of merchant marketplace Golden Jade House who is the wealthiest, most well-connected person in Gyeongseong. Tae Sang is someone who puts money before justice, but all that changes when he crosses paths with Yun Chae Ok while investigating a series of missing person cases.

Han So Hee plays Yun Chae Ok – a famous bounty hunter who can track down missing people, even ones who are dead. Chae Ok possesses a sharp eye and agile survival skills learned from her rough childhood roaming across Manchuria and Shanghai with her father.

The solid cast also includes Claudia Kim and Wi Ha Joon who have both received international acclaim for their roles. Claudia Kim plays Maeda, the wife of a powerful official in Gyeongseong during the colonial period. The actress has been active on the global stage through the films Avengers: Age of Ultron and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and the Netflix Series Marco Polo.

Wi Ha Joon, who made a lasting impression with his role in Squid Game and is currently starring in Little Women, plays Gwon Jun Taek, Tae Sang’s best friend. He joins Tae Sang’s dangerous plan in rescuing the people who have gone missing.

Joining them are popular and critically acclaimed actors Kim Hae Sook, and Cho Han Cheul. Gyeongseong is the former name of Korea’s capital city Seoul, and the name used during Japanese colonial rule. The upcoming series invites audiences to 1945 Gyeongseong, the hotbed of turmoil caused by creatures that suddenly appear and wreak havoc on an already troubled world.

Behind the scenes of this stellar cast lineup is a talented production team consisting of heavyweight hitmakers. The team is led by screenwriter Kang Eun K, who penned dramas across various genres such as Dr. Romantic and Kang Chi, the Beginning, and director Chung Dong Yoon, who flexed his powerful muscle as a creator in Stove League.

Gyeongseong Creature, a story about wretched creatures and those who go up against them, will be released globally only on Netflix

Ranveer Singh reviews Brahmastra; calls Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer ‘a fantastic big-screen offering’

Ranveer Singh was in attendance at the inaugural of FICCI Frames fast track 2022 in Mumbai on Tuesday. At the opening session, the actor spoke about Brahmastra and the spectacle that has come with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer. Rumours are rife that the actor plays Dev in the next part though the makers continue to keep it under wraps. Showering praises on the film, the actor said that the film was a ‘fantastic big-screen offering’.

At FICCI Frames 2022, Ranveer said, “I thoroughly enjoyed the Brahmastra experience, the ‘Astraverse’. It is a fantastic big-screen offering and something, unlike anything we’ve seen in Hindi cinema. I truly appreciate the efforts of my friends and putting that out there. There is now a very clear distinction between what is meant for the big screen. With the films releasing in theatres, it’s imperative to have big-screen appeal, visual spectacle, scale, something you can’t really experience at home or then a community watch. It’s not the same when you’re sitting alone and watching at home on the couch… It’s a completely new landscape with the rise of new verticals.”

Organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), FICCI Frames is India’s biggest international conference for the media and entertainment industries, covering film, television, digital entertainment, animation, gaming and visual effects.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen on the screen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. He will be next seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. His next big screen release is Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus dropping in theatres on December 23, 2022.

Bigg Boss 16: Salman Khan addresses his Rs. 1000 crore fees; says ‘have so many expenses like lawyers’ fees’

Superstar Salman Khan is set to return with the 16^th season of the reality show, Bigg Boss. At an official announcement on Tuesday in a press conference, Khan actor announced the first contestant, his Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan co-star Abdu Rozik. Ahead of the official event, reports claimed that this season, Salman returns with massive remuneration. He has reportedly charged Rs. 1000 crore as his fees.

Addressing the reports at the press conference on Tuesday, Salman Khan said, “I was going to return the money I didn’t get only.”

He cracked up saying, “If I get this amount, I won’t work the rest of my life. There will come a day when I will get paid this amount. Even if I get paid this amount, I have so many such expenses wherein… Lawyer’s fees and all.”

He continued, “(My fees) is not so much. It’s not even 1/4th of this amount.” He jokingly added that the amount quoted in such reports is noticed by ED and IT departments as well and then when they come and check, they find out what’s the reality.

Bigg Boss 16 will premiere on October 1 and the introduction to the contestants will be given on the premiere day. They will be locked inside the Bigg Boss house for a hundred days.

Bigg Boss 16: Salman Khan announces Tajik singer Abdu Rozik as the first contestant

Superstar Salman Khan is set to return with the 16^th season of the reality show, Bigg Boss. At an official announcement on Tuesday in a grand press conference, the actor announced the first contestant, his Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan co-star Abdu Rozik.

Abdu Rozik is a Tajik singer, who is a sensation on social media and lives in Dubai. “It is great, he does not understand Hindi but can sing Hindi songs,” Salman said as Abdu entered the stage singing ‘Dil Deewana’ from Maine Pyar Kiya. They spoke about what happens once you enter the house. While Rozik insisted one can expect a lot of drama, Salman Khan said that romance stars in the house first before the drama begins.

Talking about his entry into the house, Abdu said at the event, “I am very happy. I am excited to go inside the house. I love everyone and please support me.”

Gauahar Khan, the former winner of Bigg Boss, hosted the event on Tuesday. Bigg Boss will premiere on October 1 and the introduction to the contestants will be given on the premiere day. They will be locked inside the Bigg Boss 16 house for a hundred days.

Shah Rukh Khan claims his team made him feel shy during shirtless photoshoot for Pathaan

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan took the internet by storm on Sunday, September 25 after he dropped a shirtless photo from the photoshoot for Pathaan. Since June 2022, every month on the 25^th, the makers have been dropping some kind of content in order to keep the excitement on a high amongst the fans. This past Sunday was no different though some might say SRK practically broke the internet.

Turns out, SRK was quite shy as his team was ‘staring’ at him during the photoshoot. Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani took to her Instagram to share the same photo SRK had shared earlier and captioned it as, “People will Stare.. making it worth their while with.”

SRK was quick to comment, “Uh???? you guys were the ones staring the most and making me shy & making me look like this…..@poojadadlani02 @anaitashroffadajania @tarun.vishwa @arunindulkar @raajluv @prashantsixpack @preetisheel.”

Stylist and Shah Rukh Khan’s long-time friend Anaita Shroff Adjani also left a comment, “And stare we did!” Make-up artist Preeti Sheel wrote, “Absolutely worth every bit of it.”

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan had used Silsila’s iconic dialogue as a caption for the photo, to which Gauri Khan left a comment saying, “Oh God! Now he’s talking to his shirts also…..!!!!”

Back in June 2022, Shah Rukh Khan had hosted a live session on his Instagram on account of his 30-year-run in the film industry. While speaking to the fans, he said, “When we started shooting Pathaan, it was a lot of fun. It is an action film with wonderful co-actors Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Ashutosh Rana among others. It is the kind of film I wanted to do for 30 years. I always thought of myself as somebody who can do some cool action stuff. So, I think my impression about Pathaan is that what I really wanted to do when I first came to Mumbai, hopefully, I have achieved that in Pathaan as an actor.”

He admitted that he wanted to be an action hero in his 20s but is enjoying the process at 56 too.  “I enjoyed it. It is fun having to do action. It is a little late (referring to his age). At the age of 56, I am being macho and solid, trying to make it work. Siddharth and the whole action team have put in a lot of hard work. Hopefully, it will work,” he smiled.

“I remember Siddharth narrating a lot of films to me. Unfortunately, we could not find the right time to collaborate for years. He had this title called Pathaan with him. And he would tell me that, ‘Sir, maine film ready kar li hai.’ One fine day, when we could not work on the two scripts he narrated, he sent me a sweet message, which read, ‘I have this title. I have not been able to get a film with you. Now, please take the title and make a film whenever you want,’” Shah Rukh Khan said revealing that Siddharth Anand came back to him with a new script. “The film has had a long journey. And soon, you all will be able to see it,” he said.

Pathaan has the biggest stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham. The film is set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu!

Brahmastra Box Office: Film fares well on third Monday, goes past the Rs. 250 cr mark

On its third Monday, Brahmastra continued to attract audiences in theatres and do well. Theatres had taken a good decision to reduce the ticket prices all over to just Rs. 100 and that allowed much more than regular footfalls. As it is, theatres rates are traditionally low during the weekdays when compared to the weekend. However, with the prices further slashed, it was good news indeed.

That said, the footfalls were not on the same lines as was the case with Friday when the scenario was rather extraordinary. Since National Cinema Day was being celebrated and the event was much publicised a week before itself, there was huge advance booking as a result of which theatres had started filling up. The news had already like wildfire and as a result practically all screens were running to capacity, especially from late afternoon onwards. That was not quite the case on Monday since awareness wasn’t as much and moreover it was the first working day of the week. Since a large volume of audience had anyways watched the film over the weekend, the spill over was not as awesome as Friday.

Still, a start has been made and now the need of the situation is this initiative to be sustained. This cannot be just a one off scenario and the results need to be observed over a period of time and that too across 3-4 biggies. Perhaps if Vikram Vedha does it as well followed by Ram Setu and Thank God then situation would be clearer, and further next steps can be decided. Coming to Brahmastra though, the film has now crossed the Rs. 250 crores milestone as its total stands at Rs. 251 crores. With ticket rates continuing to be low right till Thursday, one waits to see how much closer does it reach to the Rs. 260 crores mark before Vikram Vedha arrives.

Kareena Kapoor Khan reviews Vikram Vedha; calls Saif Ali Khan-Hrithik Roshan starrer a ‘blockbuster’

In just a few days, the highly anticipated Vikram Vedha, a Hindi remake of a Tamil film with the same name, is set to release in theatres. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan in the lead roles, the action-packed thriller is making the right kind of noise. The makers had an early screening recently for industry folks and Saif Ali Khan’s star-wife Kareena Kapoor Khan got to watch the film.

Following the screening, the Laal Singh Chaddha actress took to her Instagram story to share her thoughts on the film. Calling it a blockbuster, she wrote, “Best actors. Best film. Best directors. What a film!”

A day ago, the makers unveiled the theme song ‘Bande’ of the film. It is composed, arranged and programmed by SAM C S, as singer Sivam gave his powerful vocals to the lyrics by Manoj Muntashir.

Vikram Vedha is an action-thriller written & directed by Pushkar-Gayatri. The story is full of twists and turns, as a tough cop Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) sets out to track and chase a dreaded gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan).

Vikram Vedha is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks & Jio Studios and a YNOT Studios Production. The film is directed by Pushkar & Gayatri and produced by Bhushan Kumar & S. Sashikanth and Reliance Entertainment. Vikram Vedha will hit the big screens globally on 30th September 2022.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan. The actress’ next project is with Netflix. It is Sujoy Ghosh’s The Devotion of Suspect X adaptation with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma.
