It looks like Kurt Sutter has just lined up his next series, courtesy of Netflix. The Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. co-creator has struck a deal with Netflix to create a new western series called The Abandons. The plan is for the series to consist of hourlong episodes that come with all of the gritty action we’ve come to expect from Sutter’s stories, but this time set in the Old West.
After making her first live action appearance in The Mandalorian, the transition of originally animated Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano to her own series Star Wars: Ahsoka is continuing to pick up pace as the Disney+ limited series has now added Pacific Rim: Uprising star Ivanna Sakhno to its cast list opposite Rosario Dawson in the title role and Natasha Liu Bordizzo. The Mandalorian spin-off series is just one of the many new Star Wars projects coming to Disney+ in the near future and will see the Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels character coming into her own.
Loki, along with additional Marvel Studios original series on Dinsey+, has stepped farther away from Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, challenging what is possible for Phase 4 and beyond. The first season left the series, if not the future of the Marvel Universe, open for a multiverse that will enable the expansion of new characters and new worlds. The second season of Loki was only vaguely teased in the post-credit sequence following the end of the season one finale, though there's still more that is yet to be uncovered: a release date, cast, and a plot.
We’ll be learning much more about the history of Vought’s superheroes in the third season of The Boys. After two successful seasons on Prime Video, there is a lot of anticipation from fans for season 3 to arrive with production on the new episodes now wrapped up. Many fans are especially interested in seeing the arrival of Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, one of Vought’s very first created supes.
It’s going to be a two-season run for PEN15 at Hulu. The critically acclaimed series will be coming to an end with the conclusion of season 2, with the second batch of the season, which now serves as the show’s final episodes, arriving in December. Fans should not start heading towards the Hulu headquarters with torches and pitchforks as this decision came straight from the series leads, Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle.
