Kartik Aaryan’s Box Office track record: Of last 5 releases, 1 Blockbuster, 1 Superhit and 2 Hits

Five weeks ago, we saw the release of the Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Starring Kartik Aaryan, the film that opened on a good note saw its business increase multi-fold as the weeks progressed. In fact, the Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani productions venture that also featured Kiara Advani has been doing rather well, managing to cross the Rs. 100 crore and Rs. 150 crore mark. Now, at the close of its fifth week running, the film’s business has slowed down, but is inching its way closer to the Rs. 200 crore mark.

As Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 dominates the box office window, looking back at Kartik Aaryan’s last five releases at the box office what stands out is the fact that the actor has been doing rather well. In fact, among the last five releases Kartik has enjoyed one blockbuster in the form of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which has collected Rs. 183.81 crore, one super-hit in the form of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) that drew in Rs. 108.95 crore, two hits with Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) and Luka Chuppi (2019) that collected Rs. 86.89 crore and Rs. 94.75 crore respectively. The sole underperformer at the box office among Kartik’s last five release being the 2020 release Love Aaj Kal that drew in Rs. 34.99 crore.

With four out of five films working magic at the box office, Kartik Aaryan has fast emerged as one of the most bankable young stars. Going forward, the actor who is currently riding high on the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has his hands full with multiple projects. With Shehzada, Captain India, Freddy and Satyanarayan Ki Katha, Kartik Aaryan is certainly a busy man.

Jugjugg Jeeyo Box Office Overseas Day 1: Varun Dhawan-Kiara Advani starrer opens at Rs. 45.20 lakhs at Australia Box Office; collects Rs. 16.07 lakhs at New Zealand Box Office

After much fanfare and elaborate promotions around the country, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo released in theatres on June 24, 2022. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and introduces Prajakta Koli to the big screen audience. While the promotions were grander than ever, the film has opened on decent note in overseas across the 1,014 screens.

As expected, the family entertainer’s opening day collections at Australia box office were at 57,764 USD [Rs. 45.20 lacs] from 59 screens. Meanwhile, in New Zealand, the film earned 20,541 USD [Rs. 16.07 lacs] from 21 screens. Going by the current trend, and the word of mouth, the film is expected to see growth over the weekend.

Meera Chopra to star in Super Woman, a film on asexuality

Meera Chopra is renowned for her bold choices of roles on screen. Her upcoming film Super Woman is India’s first film on asexuality. The first look of another film featuring Meera, titled Safed, was recently unveiled in the latest edition of the famous Cannes Film Festival.

On Super Woman, Meera Chopra said, “I was so intrigued by the script. The term ‘asexual’ is alien to Indians. So many women and men struggle to make their peers understand how they feel about it. While researching for the film, I came across jaw-dropping statistics on the number of suicides and forced marriages of asexual women. It is alarming! With “Super Women,” we aim to bring a ray of hope to people who are struggling to convey their real feelings to society.”

Sharing his thoughts, Piiyush Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Golden Ratio Films said, “As a production company, GRF has a reputation for producing films that the general public can identify with. Super Woman is a special cinema that sheds light on a theme that will resonate widely with discerning audiences.”

On her recent film Safed’s outing at the Cannes Film Festival, Meera stated, “It was a surreal and overwhelming experience for us. We were wearing the badge to represent our country and represent the revolution in Indian cinema. ‘Safed’ is a heart-warming film that shows the true essence of the struggles faced by widows and transgenders in society. A.R Rahman unveiled the first look of our film, making it even more special. ”

Meera added, “Super Woman is an ode to all the superwomen out there who are defying societal norms. The world out there needs to know that a woman cannot be defined by her sexuality. ‘Sexual’ or ‘asexual,’ every woman has the ability to conquer the world. We are not the ‘weaker’ sex anymore. A woman’s greatest strength doesn’t lie in her sexuality, it lies in her character, her spirit, and her personality. A woman’s worth is beyond her sexuality and our film states this beautifully. While researching I was appalled to see documentaries that belittled women merely as sex objects.”

Super Woman has been directed by Zaigham Imam, who is globally known in the film festival circuit for his remarkable body of work and features stalwarts like Tigmanshu Dhulia and Poonam Dhillon. The film has been produced by Golden Ratio films.

At a packed event on Friday to launch the trailer with fans and media, the indefatigable powerhouse reminded his fans that his fate is literally in their hands, button dabao aur Ranveer ko bachao! Zip-lining from the sky in true blue Ranveer style, the superstar made his way to the main stage to unveil the trailer and deliver a very special message. “Dil Darega Nahi, Karega”, said Ranveer as he urged his fans to embrace their fears and pursue their ultimate passion.

Having achieved new heights of fame after winning the title of Bigg Boss 14, Rubina Dilaik will be seen participating in the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi. Last season her husband Abhinav Shukla participated in the show and gave an impressive performance. While Rubina’s fans may have expected her to take tips from Abhinav, the diva has made a surprising revelation that she has sought no advice from him.

Rubina believes that while Abhinav has some useful suggestions on how to overcome fears in ‘Khatron ke Khiladi’, they might not work for her. “I think everybody has their own set of fears and challenges to overcome. ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is a show that tests your mental strength and character like none other, and nothing can really prepare you for it. The only thing that you can do in the face of such challenges is to think and act on your feet, which is exactly what I’m aiming to do in Cape Town.”

Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 is currently being filmed in South Africa.
