Apart from having an incredible lineup of titles for 2023, Zee Studios is all set to continue its realm of creating path-breaking cinema with the first poster release of Bollywood’s most-awaited sequel, Gadar 2, in association with Anil Sharma. To add a cherry on the top, the makers, Zee Studios and Anil Sharma have decided to gift the first look of Gadar 2 featuring Sunny Deol to the people of India!

Sharing his joy over the first poster launch, director and producer Anil Sharma added, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha isn’t my film but it’s people’s film and dynamically shifted the paradigm of the Indian film industry. It went on to become a cult icon wherein people breathed Tara Singh and Sakina’s love story. We are absolutely thrilled to launch the first poster!”

Speaking about the film CEO of Zee Studios Shariq Patel said, “The original team of Gadar – Ek Prem Katha is back after 22 years and we are elated to be associated with the team on this one. The first installment gave some iconic scenes, songs and characters to the Indian Film Industry and is popular even today. Needless to say, entertainment and emotion make up the artillery for ‘Gadar 2’ and we are delighted to commemorate the Republic Day with the first poster launch.”

Adding to it, Sunny Deol stated, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his Family and Love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”

The first movie Gadar – Ek Prem Katha is still celebrated amongst Indian audiences. The movie created a new wave of nationalism in the country and the storyline still rules millions of hearts! Helmed by Director-Producer Anil Sharma, and produced by Zee Studios, the movie stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles. The movie is scheduled to be released on 11th August 2023.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui to make Telugu debut with Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Saindhav

Venkatesh Daggubati is gearing up for his milestone 75th film. Director Sailesh Kolanu will be helming the film Saindhav which is to be bankrolled by Venkat Boyanapalli under the banner of Niharika Entertainment. The film will have its grand opening today.

A day after announcing the title and releasing a glimpse, the makers came up with another big update. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has come on board to play a crucial and lengthy role in the movie. This will be his debut movie in Telugu. Nawazuddin’s presence will be a big plus for the movie to be made appealing to the Indian audience. It will be interesting to see two powerhouse talents Venkatesh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui together on screen.

Saindhav will be made on a massive scale with a lavish budget and this is going to be the costliest movie for Venkatesh. The movie will feature several prominent actors, it will be a star-studded film with an eminent team of technicians handling different crafts.

Santosh Narayanan helms the music. S Manikandan cranks the camera, while Garry BH is the editor and Avinash Kolla is the production designer. Kishore Thallur is the co-producer. The makers will announce the other cast members soon. Saindhav will release in all southern languages and Hindi.

Pathaan protests in MP: Home Minister Narottam Mishra says there is no point in protesting now

Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film Pathaan is expected to earn around Rs 50 crores at the box office on its first day (yesterday). The film has succeeded in pulling large crowds into the cinema halls in such a way that it is expected to break the record of the highest opening for a Bollywood movie.

But amidst such scenes, some Right Wing organizations held some protests against Pathaan in parts of Madhya Pradesh yesterday, as reported by NDTV. The film was under fire for the saffron coloured bikini worn by Deepika Padukone in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ as that colour is considered sacred by the Hindus.

But the state’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said that there is no point in having any protests now as there have been “corrections” made in the film by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certifications).

Speaking to a group of reporters, he said, “I believe all rectifications have been made in it (film). The Censor Board has made corrections. Controversial words have been removed. So, I don’t see any point in protesting now.” He also said that those who are still protesting against the movie will be “counselled,” added the same report by NDTV.

Mishra, who is a part of the BJP, was one of the first persons to raise objections in Pathaan last month for the colour of the bikini in the said song. He had said then, “The outfits worn (by Deepika Padukone) in the song are objectionable. It is evident that this song has been picturized by polluted minds. Anyways, Deepika ji has been a supporter of the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang; she attended the JNU protests. That’s why I would like to request (to the makers) to rectify the visuals and outfits (in the song), else we will need to think whether the film will be allowed to release in Madhya Pradesh.”

Apart from the CBFC ordering the cuts in the song, earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also told his party workers and members to refrain from making “unnecessary comments on films.”

Jackie Shroff, who is another close friend of Shetty, gifted his daughter an Rs. 30 lakh Chopard watch. Arjun Kapoor, who is one of Athiya’s childhood friends and worked in Mubarakan together, gifted her a diamond bracelet worth Rs. 1.5 crore.

It is also being reported that KL Rahul’s friends from the cricket fraternity did not leave any stone unturned with their gifts galore. Former Indian Cricket team captain, star batsman and KL Rahul’s longtime friend Virat Kohli gifted him a BMW car worth Rs. 2.17 crore. Former Captain MS Dhoni was in attendance for the marriage ceremony and gifted Rahul with a Kawasaki Ninja bike worth Rs. 80 lakh.

On Wednesday, Suniel shared two new photos from the beautiful ceremony. In one of them, he and his wife Mana Shetty were emotional as they hugged Athiya. In another one, they were showering the newlyweds with flowers.

According to an insider, the duo would be hosting a lavish post-wedding bash for all their industry friends and colleagues. Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul remained tight-lipped about their wedding. They have been together for a long time and their first official appearance was at the premiere of Athiya’s brother Ahan Shetty’s debut film Tadap in Mumbai in 2021.

Oscars 2023: ‘Naatu Naatu’ composer MM Keeravani says he is confident of a win, “I’m confident we will win the Oscar”

M M Keeravani is over the moon, and beyond, after the Oscar nominations were announced on January 24. His song ‘Naatu Naatu’ in Rajamouli’s RRR has secured itself a nomination for Best Song. Keeravani isn’t surprised. “After ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Golden Globe I was confident of the journey. I knew we were on the right track. I am confident we will bring home the Oscar.”
