Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s multi-starrer comedy, Thank God has taken a slow start at the box office. According to early estimates, Thank God is looking to collect in the range of Rs. 8 to 9 crores, which means that the opening is in the same range as Raksha Bandhan and Jugjugg Jeeyo.
This is a rather slow start for a film that’s releasing in the Post Diwali period, but the makers would be hoping to trend well going forward and make up for the opening day numbers. The film has done well in expected pockets like Gujarat and Rajasthan, as these are the main centers for comedy film films in India. Mumbai too was decent, but the issue for Thank God was in the North Indian belt.
The numbers up North were dismal and this slow start makes it very important for Thank God to record a second day which is more or less equal to the opening day to have things rolling in its favor through the festive season.
The final figure can be higher or lower depending on how well the film has done in the single screens, but the initial data suggests just about an average start in the mass belts, despite the post-Diwali benefit. The initial response to Thank God seems to be poised towards the positive side and this is an encouraging signal for starters, but we shall know the exact word of mouth based on tomorrow’s trend.

Just a day ago, we received glimpses of the lavish lunch at the Kapoor household. Movie buffs would be aware that the Kapoor household is generally bustling with energy during festival season as the entire ‘Khandaan’ comes together to celebrate during all occasions. The annual Diwali lunch affair at their residence was a full-house event with not just the Kapoor family but also Saif Ali Khan’s family being a part of it. Meanwhile, post the lunch, Kareena Kapoor Khan decided to also have some low-key family time and celebration at her Mumbai residence with Saif Ali Khan, Taimur Ali Khan, and Jehangir Ali Khan.\
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who seems to be in love with social media, posted photos from the Diwali celebration at her residence. Dressed in Indian traditional style, the actress opted for a bun hairdo along with a red kurta set and ethnic jhumkas. On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan and their sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan were dressed in matching looks which included a black kurta and white pajamas. The photos posted by the Laal Singh Chaddha actress were all about the Diwali shenanigans of the family and one of them included a photo of the family posing for the shutterbugs with Taimur lying on the ground crying. The actress also captioned the photos with a special Diwali wish adding, “This is Us ?? From mine to yours… Happy Diwali friends ?? Stay Blessed”

Many people commented on the ‘Taimur crying’ photo which included some of industry people and even several fans. Digital content creator Kusha Kapila dropped a comment on the series of photos saying, “It’s the last picture for me”. On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s cousin and Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan Kapoor too took to the platform to comment saying, “The last image is just tooooo good” Fans too had some quirky comments where one said, “Taimur in last picture perfectly represents my life rn” and yet another one added, “That last picture highlights, me laying on the floor, crying and my problems laughing at me.” Yet another social media user commented, “Watch out 4th one….real pataka of diwali ??” “Last picture is every couple’s reality after kids,” shared another.
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will next be seen in the Sujoy Ghosh directorial which is an adaptation of the novel Devotion of Suspect X. It will also mark her OTT film debut. Whereas, husband Saif Ali Khan is gearing up for the release of the magnum opus Adipurush featuring him as Lankeshwar along with Prabhas in the titular role and Kriti Sanon as Seeta.

However, coming to their Diwali celebrations, the actors, who are quite active on social media, decided to give us a glamorous as well as a very ‘homely’ sneak peek of the festivities on the platform.
Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, who were seen attending some of the most popular B-town Diwali bashes, were seen walking hand-in-hand and posing for paparazzi as fans couldn’t gushing about their love. In the latest post shared by Katrina Kaif, the actress gave a glamorous glimpse of their celebration as she wished fans ‘Shubh Deepavali’. While she looked radiant in a yellow saree, Vicky complimented her look with a white embroidered kurta. Their adorable chemistry was appreciated by fans as well as their colleagues like Zoya Akhtar. Fans took to the platform to drop heart emojis and their likes on the pic, followed by some lovely comments for the couple. “Awww cutest people in the world,” said one of them. “The best couple that’s there #vickat y’all own my heart,” added another. A fan wrote, “The power couple has arrived”. Another fan commented, “You make marriage look so beautiful. On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal posted a photo of the two of them performing a ‘homely’ Diwali pooja in rather simple clothes and called Katrina as the ‘Laxmi’ of the house. “Ghar ki Laxmi ke saath laxmi pooja ho gayi. Aap sabhi ko humari taraf se shubh deepavali. (Did Laxmi Pooja with the ‘laxmi’ of the house. Wish you all a very Happy Diwali)”.

The Anand L Rai directorial is one of the latest editions from Bollywood to this niche genre. The film revolves around Lala Kedarnath, the eldest and only brother of 4 sisters, and his relentless efforts of getting his sisters married. The film had received a decent response from the audience.
