Pratik Gandhi’s Phule might CLASH with Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan on Eid 2024

Pratik Gandhi became an actor to watch out for, with his powerful performance as Harshad Mehta in the 2020 acclaimed web series, Scam 1992. As expected, he was flooded with offers after this show and he signed some interesting projects. Interestingly, it seems he’s all set to have three releases in a span of 21 days this year. March 22 will see the release of Madgaon Express, co-starring Divyenndu and Avinash Tiwary. It marks the directorial debut of Kunal Kemmu. A week later, Do Aur Do Pyaar will arrive in cinemas, co-starring Vidya Balan, Ileana DCruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. And less than two weeks later, he might have a third release – Phule – on April 11. If this happens, the biopic will clash with two of the most awaited films of 2024, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan.

Phule, as the name suggests, is the biopic of social activist Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. Patralekhaa essays the role of Savitribai Phule and the film focuses on how they both batted for women’s education. It is directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan and in an interview with Mid-Day last month, he confessed that the makers are looking at releasing the film on April 11, since it’s the birth anniversary of Jyotirao Phule.

Ananth Narayan Mahadevan said, “My producers Ritesh Kudecha, Pranay Chokshi and Sunil Jain are planning to release it on April 11, which is Jyotiba’s birth anniversary.” In this news report, he was also quoted as saying, “Phule is my biggest film to date. The best part was that we hunted down locations in the Maharashtra belt that existed during their time, the 1860s. So, we didn’t have to create artificial sets.”

April 11 also happens to be the time of the festival of Eid this year. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was the first film to take the slot. It stars Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Sonakshi Sinha and Prithviraj Sukumaran. It is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Maidaan, meanwhile, features Ajay Devgn, Priyamani and Gajraj Rao. It is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Zee Studios. Ajay plays Syed Abdul Rahim, an accomplished Indian coach in this film, which has music by A R Rahman.

Mithun Chakraborty suffers brain stroke; hospital authorities say he is ‘fully conscious, well-oriented’

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata following his complaints about chest pain on February 10, 2024. However, the latest update reveals that the actor reportedly suffered a brain stroke. It was an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain and now the official statement has been released by the hospital authorities. He was given the required treatment and is under observation.

Apollo Hospital issued an official statement on Saturday evening, as reported by Indian Express, which read, “Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented and has consumed soft diet. Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors including a neuro-physician, cardiologist and a gastroenterologist.”

On the work front, Mithun Chakraborty was recently seen in the Bengali film Kabuliwala, helmed by Suman Ghosh.

Shah Rukh Khan to discuss ‘The Making Of A Star’ at the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai

At the prestigious World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is poised to engage in a conversation titled ‘The Making Of A Star: A Conversation With Shah Rukh Khan.’ In this exclusive 15-minute session, Khan will delve into the journey of his rise to stardom, offering profound insights. REVEALED: Janhvi Kapoor has a special appearance in Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is all set to release tomorrow, Friday, February 9. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, the trailers, the songs and the extensive promotions have caught attention. Content-wise, it promises to be a love story with a difference and now it has come to light that the film also has a surprise for the audience.

It turns out that popular actor Janhvi Kapoor has a special appearance in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. She appears at a crucial juncture in the film and adds a nice touch to the narrative. It’s interesting to note that Janhvi’s presence was well-hidden by the makers and no one ever got the slightest hint of it.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is the second time that Janhvi Kapoor has appeared in a film produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Earlier, she was seen in a full-fledged role in the horror comedy Roohi (2021), co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma. This is also her second consecutive cameo. She was last seen in a special appearance in Karan Johar’s directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. She’ll be next seen in Mr & Mrs Mahi, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, Jr NTR-Saif Ali Khan starrer Devara and a political drama, Ulajh.

Besides Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya also stars Dimple Kapadia, Dharmendra, Rakesh Bedi and Rajesh Kumar. It is directed by debutant director duo Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. It is produced by Maddock Films, Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Laxman Utekar of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023) fame. It tells the story of a young, dashing man who falls in love with a charming, witty lady only to later learn that the latter is a humanoid android robot.
