Amazon Prime Video’s new series based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child has become their biggest hit to date, besting their fantasy epic The Wheel of Time by quite some way in just three days on the platform. While the Tom Cruise-starring Jack Reacher movies left something to be desired by fans of the novels and Child himself, Amazon’s eight-part first season of Reacher sees Alan Ritchson taking on the title role and his true-to-novel appearance and has clearly hit the right chord with audiences.



Cheaper Ad-Supported Disney+ Option Reportedly Being Considered by Disney

There is no denying that the Covid pandemic has advanced the dominance of streaming platforms worldwide, and Disney+ launched at just the right time to take advantage of the many stay-at-home lockdowns imposed on families in numerous countries. While other platforms such as Paramount+ and Discovery+ have offered subscribers a cheaper price-point for an ad-supported version, it seems that Disney is now considering a similar route for their Disney+ service.

No matter what metric you measure it by, season 1 of Reacher was a smashing success for Amazon Studios. The biggest complaint in many viewers’ minds was that the season may have been too short. In a recent note in a TVLine questions and answers article, the showrunner for Reacher, Nick Santora, hinted that season 2 could be longer.

The New Zealand-born actor is currently working in Europe with Guy Ritchie and was arrested on Wednesday morning following a reported disturbance outside an Alicante pub.



Santiago Cabrera on His Future as the Captain of the U.S.S. Stargazer

Chilean actor Santiago Cabrera plays Cristobal "Chris" Rios, the former pilot of La Sirena and current Starfleet Captain of the U.S.S. Stargazer, on Star Trek: Picard. Cabrera also portrays the emergency holograms aboard La Sirena. An earlier model of the Stargazer was Admiral Picard's (Sir Patrick Stewart) first ship, which he later described in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Relics" as an "overworked, underpowered vessel, always on the verge of flying apart at the seams." In the second season of Star Trek: Picard, Captain Rios is in command of Picard's former ship. During last night's virtual premiere, fans learned more about what to expect the rest of the season for the recently recommissioned captain.
