It is hard to believe that only a few months ago, the words Squid Game meant nothing to the vast majority of people, but thanks to the pop culture phenomenon created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, it seems that everyone from primary school children to octogenarians are aware of the existence of the series in some form. While the series continues to cling to the Netflix Top Ten, a new behind the scenes video has revealed how the use of CGI was used to create many of the visuals of the brutal and intriguing show, and it seems that the series relied just as much on the use of computer graphics as any big screen action blockbuster.



DC's Dead Boy Detectives TV Show Recasts Ghostly Doom Patrol Pair on HBO Max

Dead Boy Detectives is one of the many creations of Neil Gaiman that have appeared on screen in recent years, and a new HBO Max series will give the DC Comics characters their first solo series after appearing in the third season of Doom Patrol. While the ghostly pair’s appearance in Doom Patrol saw Edward Paine and Charles Rowland played by Sabastian Croft and Ty Tennant respectively, alongside Madalyn Horcher in the role of Crystal Palace, their human medium, the new series has recast all three characters, even though their Doom Patrol appearance and departure seemed to set up the spin-off show.

Saturday Night Live paid tribute to Peter Aykroyd, one of the most distinguished cast members of the show, who passed away earlier this month. The 20th November episode of the NBC show remembered the beloved comedian and writer with a tribute card that was displayed on camera. The episode also marked the hosting debut of Simu Liu, the Canadian actor currently best known for his role in the MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.



Hammer Films Teams Up With Network Distributing to Launch Hammer Studios

Iconic British horror producers Hammer Films have struck a deal with Network Distributing in the U.K. to create Hammer Studios Ltd, a move that will see the new entity take over control of all of Hammer’s output, from the likes of Dracula and The Quatermass Experiment through to modern releases such as The Woman in Black and 2020’s The Lodge. The creation of Hammer Studios will see a renewed effort put into the restoration of the prolific Hammer back catalogue as well as increased investment in new ventures in the coming years.

WWE Fan Charged by NYPD After Attacking Seth Rollins on Raw

A fan who attacked pro wrestler Seth Rollins during WWE Raw on Monday night is now facing the legal consequences. During the live show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Rollins left fan favorite wrestler Finn Balor flattened in the ring after two Curb Stomps, his trademark maneuver, prompting raucous boos from the audience. The storyline apparently went too far for one fan in attendance, as 24-year-old Elisah Spencer rushed past security to attack Rollins as the wrestler was on his way backstage.
