Golden Globes - Steve Martin and Martin Short Go Head To Head For Best Actor In A TV Series

The nominations for the 79th Golden Globes have been revealed, with the announcement being live-streamed, for the first time, at goldenglobes.com and on the Golden Globes YouTube channel. Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) president Helen Hoehne and rapper turned actor turned all-around entertainer Snoop Dogg had the honors of making the announcement. It is definitely not surprising to see the hit series Only Murders in the Building appear in the list of nominations, after all, it's sitting among a very select few elite shows with a perfect 100% score on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. In the categories covering Limited Television Series, it came down to Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany to save the day with their nominations in Best Actress and Best Actor categories respectively, although this time Kathryn Hahn wasn’t joining them in her Supporting Actress role.

Both Sky and NBC are owned by the parent company Comcast, so it is no wonder that a British version of one of the most successful NBC shows is being developed in the house of the said TV operator. A collaboration such as this has often been pondered ever since Comcast bought the European media company for $39 billion (thus outbidding FOX) back in 2018. As of now, it seems Saturday Night Live representatives are in London discussing the details of the deal with Sky.
