Jackass Stars Share Details of Show's Original Pitch to HBO: 'They Were Offended'

We've seen a lot of risqué content on HBO programming over the years, but they weren't at all interested in airing Jackass when the series was first pitched to the premium cabler over two decades ago. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter detailing the history of the franchise, the stars of Jackass opened up about how the original TV show came to be. Featuring the same gross-out humor and dangerous stunts it's now widely known for, the pitch was first delivered to HBO execs who were utterly appalled. As co-creator Jeff Tremaine explains:



Cheslie Kryst, Extra Correspondent and Miss USA 2019, Dies at 30

More sad news is coming in as Extra correspondent Cheslie Kryst has reportedly died. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Kryst was found dead at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday morning on the sidewalk outside of the Orion Condominium building in Manhattan where she'd been living. The New York Police Department has ruled her passing a suicide and it is believed she willingly jumped from several stories up to her death. She was 30 years old.



Halo Series Gets March Release Date on Paramount+

The live-action Halo series officially has a release date. Hours ahead of the release of a new trailer for the series, the official Halo account tweeted a video ad promoting the full trailer's launch. While including some snippets of the show, a narrator also announces in the video that Halo will premiere on Paramount+ on March 24, 2022. You can watch the official announcement below.



Howard Hesseman Dies, WKRP in Cincinnati Star Was 81

Veteran actor Howard Hesseman has passed away. Per Variety, the prolific character actor, who's best known for his role on the classic series WKRP in Cincinnati, died on Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles due to complications from colon surgery he'd undergone last summer. The actor was 81 years old.



John Mulaney Set to Join Saturday Night Live Five-Timers Club

Comedian John Mulaney will be joining the Saturday Night Live Five-Timers Club in February. Per TVLine, Mulaney is scheduled to return as host for the long-running sketch comedy series on its Feb. 26 episode. LCD Soundsystem also returns as the musical guest after a previous appearance in 2017.



Percy Jackson Author Rick Riordan Shares New Details About Disney+ Series

For several years fans of the popular children’s book series Percy Jackson & the Olympians have been chomping at the bit for a second chance at an adaption. Netflix's Daredevil Cast and Crew Celebrate the Series' Return to Top 10 Status

Spider-Man: No Way Home featured an unexpected cameo from Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, better known as Daredevil in the Netflix series. Thanks to that appearance, the now-canceled series has been gaining a whole new audience on the streaming platform and managed to break into Nielsen’s Top 10 U.S. streaming chart of original series for the week following the new MCU’s release in cinemas. During the week beginning December 20th, the 39 episodes of the series pulled in 195 million minutes between them, and the new surge in popularity didn’t go unnoticed by those involved in the show.
