Star Trek is boldly going where the past has gone before. At a Paramount+ panel during the Television Critics Association press tour, a select few who received press badges were treated to the first official footage from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Although the clip focused on Celia Rose Gooding's Nyota Uhura, the panel included some other tidbits that Trekkies are sure to go wild over. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Akiva Goldsman, the co-showrunner of the upcoming Paramount+ streaming series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has confirmed that a link exists between the show and one of Trek’s most notorious villains, Khan Noonien Singh.
The long-rumored Star Trek: Section 31 series might be more than a rumor after all! Paramount+ is currently home to five television series in the Star Trek Universe, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Star Trek: Lower Decks, but what Trekkie ever said that five series with the best captains in the galaxy was enough to satiate a never-ending lust for blood wine and mud slop? Good thing the execs at ViacomCBS agree. A recent Variety report indicates that the Michelle Yeoh-led spin-off series about Section 31 is still in the works at Paramount+, along with additional Trek-related projects.
According to an exclusive report at Deadline, J.J. Abrams' production company Bad Robot is putting together a limited series package based on the Stephen King bestselling crime novel Billy Summers, published by Scribner on August 3, 2021. Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz, who worked on the Academy Award-nominated film Blood Diamond together, will executive produce and adapt the novel. Zwick will be directing the six to 10 episode limited series package.

During a presentation at the Television Critics Association, Paramount+ announced that two new South Park specials will be coming to the streaming service in 2022. These specials are a part of the recent $900 million deal that South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker made with Paramount+.
Kiefer Sutherland can't seem to stay away from high-octane action roles on TV, as having played Jack Bauer for over a decade in 24, he is coming to Paramount+ with a brand new spy thriller streamer has announced is called Rabbit Hole and will be premiering this fall. The series comes from John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, the duo behind NBC hit This Is Us, and Paramount will be hoping for a big hit of their own with Sutherland on board as the lead.
