CW Pushes Babylon 5 Reboot to 2023

Last year, the CW announced that they had ordered a pilot to reboot the epic sci-fi series Babylon 5 from series creator J. Michael Straczynski. In the recent news of CW’s fall 2022’s pilots being announced, the Babylon 5 reboot was curiously absent, causing fans to wonder if the show was dead before arrival. Now, thanks to a post to his Patreon followers that he has made public for all to read, Straczynski has made it clear that the show is being held for the 2023 pilot season.

X-Men '97 Will Pick Up Soon After the Original Series, Expected to be Released in 2023

More details have now been revealed regarding the resurrection of the X-Men animated series in the Disney+ project X-Men ‘97. As fans prepare their eardrums for that iconic theme tune once again, returning producers Eric and Julia Lewald, two of the creators behind the original show, have offered further insight into the intentions for X-Men ‘97 while speaking with YouTube user Spideyjeu09 Justin Underwood. Including that the series will continue on soon after the end of the show’s original run, and that the series is due to premiere midway through 2023.

Gumby to Be Reimagined in Both Live-Action and Animation by Fox

Gumby is getting the reboot treatment. Per Deadline, Fox has acquired the rights to the classic green character made of clay who first appeared on TV screens in the 1950s. The company will reportedly "reimagine" Gumby with multiple new shows on various linear, digital, and blockchain platforms. Both a new animated series and live-action projects are said to already be in development with Fox in talks with "A-list creatives" to come aboard.

During the Disney Branded Television panel at the Television Critics Association 2022 Winter press tour, Marvel fans got their first look at Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, debuting this summer on the Disney Channel. With the first look, singer and songwriter Diamond White made history as Marvel's first Black, young, female superhero: Lunella Lafayette, aka Moon Girl, a 13-year-old prodigy from Manhattan's Lower East Side. Starring alongside White in the co-titular role will be Fred Tatasciore (Star Trek: Lower Decks) as the time-swapped (and red) Devil Dinosaur.
