John Cena made quite an impact in Peacemaker, the James Gunn created spin-off show from The Suicide Squad, and he made sure that his interviews promoting the series were just as colorful as the show itself by turning up in his Peacemaker costume. Now Cena has revealed that his motivation in dressing up for the occasion was simply to make sure that people came to recognize the character’s appearance, just like he used to in his wrestling days.

After nearly a month off the air, Saturday Night Live put the comedy aside for a moment with Saturday night's cold open. Typically, the sketch comedy show opens with a skit poking fun at current events. Given the seriousness of recent headlines, the show's producers opted to start the show on a more somber tone, keeping the comedians and host John Mulaney backstage and instead opening with a Ukraine tribute.

This 100-year story just scored a 100% perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This marks a significant accomplishment for a series that has only been out a few days.



Sharon Osbourne Says She'd 'Never Go Back' to The Talk

The relationship between Sharon Osbourne and The Talk is completely over. Spending over a decade on the daytime talk show, Osbourne had joined The Talk in 2010, where she served as a co-host until her controversial exit in 2021. Her departure followed Osbourne coming under fire for defending her friend Piers Morgan, who'd similarly been facing his own backlash for comments he'd made about Meghan Markle.



Jussie Smollett Requests New Trial Ahead of Sentencing for Alleged Hoax Attack

Ahead of his sentencing in March, Empire actor Jussie Smollett has sought a new trial. Back in December, Smollett was found guilty when he was on trial for his alleged role in fabricating an assault with two brothers with whom he'd worked with on Empire serving as his accomplices. TMZ now reports that Smollett's lawyers are asking for a new trial in Chicago, claiming his rights were violated, though they'd also be willing to accept the verdict to be reversed with Smollett declared not guilty.



Starz Developing An Outlander Prequel Series

It looks like we will be getting a lot more from the Outlander series, as a new prequel show is in the works at Starz. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Outlander executive producer and showrunner Matthew B. Roberts is attached to write and executive produce the prequel. Roberts currently has an overall deal at Sony. It looks like a writers room is currently being put together with a target date to begin in the coming weeks.



Rick Riordan Teases Disney+ Percy Jackson Sets, Series to Film in June

From his recent posts, it is hard to tell whether fans of Percy Jackson or Jackson’s creator Rick Riordan himself is more excited for the upcoming Disney+ series based on the best-selling novels about the 12-year-old boy who discovers that his father is Poseidon and he is a demigod. Two of the books from the series were previously made into feature films, but both received very mixed reviews from audiences, critics and author Riordan. Now the new Disney+ series has a chance to create a definitive version of the novels on screen, and Riordan is seemingly more than happy with what is happening on Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
