Aamir Khan opts for an unusual marketing strategy for Laal Singh Chaddha; releases song before the trailer

Over the past week, Aamir Khan had been teasing his fans about a ‘Kahani’ (story) that he will be narrating. The actor raised anticipation around the ‘Kahani’ with fans coming up with various theories on what the announcement could be. While fans speculated that it could be a teaser for his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, a motion poster, or some even speculated that he might be announcing a new project. Well with Aamir Khan, one never knows! The actor is known to come up with unique marketing techniques to promote his films. This time, he has managed to once again surprise everyone with his ‘Kahani’.

 

Today morning, Aamir Khan unveiled his ‘Kahani‘ on a radio channel. ‘Kahani’ is the title of the first song from the film Laal Singh Chaddha. What makes it unique is that this is the first time that Aamir has released the song of his film before the trailer release. The first song has also been released over three months before the scheduled theatrical release of the film on August 11.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film will trace the history of India through the eyes of the protagonist.

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmāstra involves a secret society, a mysterious connection, and an epic love story between Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

Ayan Mukerji’s directorial Brahmāstra is one of the most anticipated films in the Hindi film industry. The Pan-India film has been in the making for several years and its release has been delayed oftentimes for different reasons. The film that stars newlyweds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead will be released in theatres worldwide on September 9. Disney has now added the film to its domestic slate and it will be released on the same day in the USA and Canada. The film which marks the beginning of a trilogy also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna, with a special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.

The new universe called the Astraverse is inspired by ancient India and spiritual Indian mythology. According to Deadline, the film revolves around a secret society Brahmansh and Ranbir’s character Shiva’s mysterious connection with it. “The setup involves a secret society, the Brahmānsh, who, generation after generation, have protected many divine “Astras” (weapons) that were created in ancient India, and safe-guarded from the eyes of the world. The most powerful and the most deadly amongst these divine weapons, the Brahmāstra, is now waking up and threatens to destroy the universe we know today,” read the report.

“Part one of the planned trilogy centers on Shiva (Kapoor), a young man on the brink of an epic love story with Isha (Bhatt). But their world is turned upside down when Shiva learns he has a mysterious connection to the Brahmāstra, and a great power within him that he doesn’t understand just yet — the power of fire. The story follows Shiva as he journeys into the world of Astras and discovers his destiny as the Divine Hero of the universe,” it further read.

Produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures, Brahmāstra will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Ajay Devgn opens up about sustaining his marriage with Kajol- “Only love cannot just make it work”

Actors Ajay Devgn and Kajol tied the knot in 1999. They met on the sets of the 1995 film Hulchul and started dating shortly after that. They have been married for 23 years now and are parents to two kids- Nysa and Yug. Recently, Ajay Devgn spoke about sustaining his marriage for so long and how it comes with its share of ups and downs.

In an interview with Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Ajay was asked how he and Kajol have managed to sustain their marriage for so long. “It is sustaining very well. Though there are ups and downs in every marriage. Disagreements are there, but you need to manage them because minds can’t be alike. Where kids are also concerned, two minds will think differently also. But then we come to terms and discuss what is right and what is wrong and that’s how it’s gonna work. You also have to understand the other person’s point of view. The first thing is that you need to be very open about when you think you are wrong, you should just apologize and get over with it, then it works. If you stay by your egos then it’s not gonna work,” he said.

Further, when asked if he is a ‘love dovey’ kind of a person in real life, Ajay said, “I am not a physical person. I care for people, I care a lot and I show in different ways. Love transforms into partnership, responsibility, and care and that is stronger than love because only love cannot just make it work,” he said.

Ajay and Kajol have shared screen in several films including Ishq, Dil Kya Kare, Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, Raju Chacha, and more recently Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is currently gearing up for the release of his film Runway 34 which will hit the theatres on April 29. Directed by Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh and is based on a true incident.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma to kick off Sujoy Ghosh’s The Devotion of Suspect X in Darjeeling

Back in March 2022, Netflix announced that Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma were coming together to star in Sujoy Ghosh’s untitled film. It is a screen adaptation of one of Keigo Higashino’s most acclaimed works, “The Devotion of Suspect X”. Now, the makers plan to kick off the first schedule in Darjeeling next week.

In the first week of May, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma will head to Darjeeling to film key scenes at the hill station. A daily reports that a part of the production unit will erect a set in Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios. The schedule for the same will begin in May end.

The film is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films in association with Boundscript and Kross Pictures and marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s streaming debut. Sujoy Ghosh will be producing the film along with Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, and Thomas Kim.

Netflix unveiled the first look images and release date of the highly anticipated film of this year — The Gray Man. Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, starring star power like Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Indian superstar Dhanush and more, releasing on July 22, only on Netflix.

The Gray Man is CIA operative Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), aka, Sierra Six. Plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), Gentry was once a highly-skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort at the CIA, who will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has his back. He’ll need it.

Ryan Gosling is The Gray Man and Chris Evans is his psychopathic adversary in the Netflix/AGBO-produced thriller directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, starring Ana de Armas, with Regé-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thornton, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Wagner Moura, and Alfre Woodard.

Based on the novel “The Gray Man” by Mark Greaney, the screenplay is by Joe Russo, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely. Drishyam China Box Office Day 13: Collects 110k USD; total collections at 1.78 mil. USD [Rs. 13.64 cr.]

The Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam released 13 days ago at the China box office. After a rather lacklustre start the business of the film in China did not see much of an increase. Unlike previous Bollywood releases in this market, Drishyam has been facing an uphill task at the box office.

Now on Day 13 Drishyam has managed to draw in a further USD 1,10,000 [Rs. 84.33 lakhs] more taking its total collections at the China box office to USD 1.78 million [Rs. 13.64 cr.]. Unlike previous releases Drishyam has been facing a tough time in China due to sections of the market being under lockdown due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 virus.

Going forward, the business of the film at the China box office is not really expected to see much growth. Trade predictions state that the business of Drishyam will continue to see collections  trickling in but will not see much of an increase.
