Kiara Advani debuted 8 years ago and in recent times, she has emerged as an actor to watch out for. Her 2019 releases – Kabir Singh and Good Newwz – gave a great boost to her career. Last year, she won everyone’s hearts with Shershaah (2021), which is one of the most appreciated films in recent times.
The actress is now back with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, directed by Anees Bazmee, and during a recent media interaction, she was asked to comment on the comparisons with the first part, which was released in 2007. She said, “Naturally, there would be comparisons, not just of characters, but also of the film. When the title of the film is Bhool Bhulaiyaa, it is obvious that people would be intrigued and excited, as part 1 was so good. We have tried our best to make a film, comprising the essence of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. It’s a different film, though some aspects are similar. Some characters like Chota Pandit (played by Rajpal Yadav) would be there and would evoke nostalgia. And yes, there’ Monjulika as well. Who is Manjulika is something that is very deceiving in the trailer.”
She further said, “I am not pressured by the comparisons with Vidya Balan as I am not playing the character she essayed. Secondly, she was outstanding in part 1. I wish I could have played a character like that in part 1. Hence, it’s a different take in the sequel.”
So does Kiara play the possessed woman this time? To which Kiara said, “Well, you have seen the glimpse of the supernatural element in the trailer. You must have also seen those 3-4 shots of me looking possessed. It’s a very small scene but that is the reason why I said yes to the film. I found it very thrilling and entertaining. I hope the audience likes it when they watch it. We have worked hard on it. Chinni Prakash sir has choreographed the sequence. It’s a crucial moment in the film; a twist in the plot. I mean, it’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and hence, there would be twists and turns throughout.”
When asked how it was to shoot the spooky scene, Kiara Advani explained, “When you are shooting a horror scene, you don’t actually feel spooked as much. However, when you see it on screen, it’s far scarier because, in a horror film, background score and camera angles play a crucial part. You can’t spook an audience without these two. Play any horror film and put it on mute. You won’t get scared. It’s a good idea actually and works with the scariest of films. Main horror films aise hi dekhti thi (smiles)!”
Kiara also revealed, “My get up was also spooky. So when I’d walk on the set, the crew members would be taken aback (laughs)!”
At the trailer launch, Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan had spoken about a prank played on them. However, they didn’t elaborate and the media and netizens only got a chance that it was something to do with a bed. “Everybody has a dirty mind. They thought of something else,” said Kiara.
She then narrated, “So whenever you shoot in a haveli that looks spooky and mysterious, the people managing it would always claim that this place is haunted or that ‘yahaan pe kuch hua tha’. For a scene, me and Kartik Aaryan had to run into a room and look for a place to hide. It was a wide shot and hence there was nobody else around us. We were anyway scared as we had to run alone in this spooky haveli.”
Kiara Advani continued, “There was a charpai kept with a white blanket. Anees Bazmee sir had told me to look under the blanket and try to hide underneath. Now, Anees sir had purposely put somebody under the blanket! We didn’t know about it. As we came closer to the charpai, the men under the blanket got up all of a sudden. We freaked out! And this happened at 3 in the morning!”
“Anees sir loves to play pranks. Kaafi mazaakiya hai woh,” quipped Kiara.

Via Bollywood Hungama https://ift.tt/f9Opd5sSuperstar Ranveer Singh is starring in Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar, a big screen family entertainer that will present a new brand of hero and heroism that is rare in Indian cinema. Ranveer is celebrating the girl child in the film and plays a sharp-witted Gujarati man who stands up for his unborn baby girl and takes on his family that is representative of the patriarchal society that we live in. Jayeshbhai is probably the most endearing hero to have ever graced the big screen and he has loved playing a father in this film. Ranveer reveals that his father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, was his inspiration to pull off this character.
The actor’s father was a pillar of strength to Ranveer and his entire family through several trying times and Ranveer channelised his father’s calm, protective personality to become Jayeshbhai on screen. Ranveer says, “I borrowed a lot from that aspect of my life, from observing the way my father was with us as a family. It’s like we were the only thing that mattered to him, from his waking moment to the time he slept, his only purpose was to give us a better life, was to be the best protector and provider that he could possibly be; to be the best family man that he could possibly be, to do everything in his power, no matter how much it took from him – physically, mentally, emotionally – he would pour everything in the endeavour of giving us a better life which is the premise of Jayeshbhai’s journey as well.”
He adds, “Jayeshbhai is trying to protect his family at any and all costs and I have seen my father go through many adversities relentlessly, doggedly keep going to fight those adversities, overcome those obstacles so that he can give us a better life so that he can protect us, so that no matter what he is going through, or the challenges that he is facing – to never let that come onto us; shielding us from the difficulties of life. I have seen it first hand and I understood it even then but I have a much, much deeper appreciation for it now.”
Ranveer further says, “In retrospect when I think back, having become a man myself now, I can understand at a deeper level how difficult it must have been and how demanding it must have been and how much it must have taken from him. So, it is through playing Jayeshbhai that I now have a much deeper appreciation for everything that my father did for me.”
A hilarious satire on society – Jayeshbhai Jordaar, produced by Maneesh Sharma, also stars Arjun Reddy famed Shalini Pandey, who debuts on Bollywood’s big screen opposite Ranveer. The film has been directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar and is releasing worldwide on May 13, 2022.
