Randeep Hooda’s first look as Swatantra Veer Savarkar launched on latter 139th birth anniversary

Today, May 28th, is the 139th birth anniversary of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. On this occasion, the makers of the film Swatantra Veer Savarkar have released the first look of Randeep Hooda portraying the character of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The poster reads, ‘Hindutva Dharm Nahin, Itihaas Hai,’. The film is going on floor in August 2022.

Filmmaker Sandeep Singh shares, “At a time when films of Harshad Mehta, Vijay Mallya, and Lalit Modi are trending, I am more interested in telling the story of Veer Savarkar’s life. He was the first dynamic hero of India and the only man who could have saved the Partition in 1947. Through this film, I, not only as a filmmaker, but most importantly as an Indian, want to tell the world the facts about Savarkar’s struggle. His courageous fight for freedom, his fearless persona which scared the British, and his commitment for Hindutva till his last breath is heavily inspiring. He is the most misunderstood hero and it is high time that we understand him, and moreover celebrate this rebel. He never got what he deserved and hence, I plead that Savarkar should be gracefully awarded with the Bharat Ratan and Nobel Prize.”

Producer Anand Pandit, shared, “Randeep has time and again showcased his skill set as an actor and moreover, shown that he can transform into the character he portrays. But in case of Savarkar, there is an added dynamic because of his uncanny resemblance to the freedom fighter. I am a lover of history and excited to have the cinematic privilege to bring to 70 mm the story of a leader whose story must be told.”

Director Mahesh Manjrekar states, “People may have different versions in their mind for Savarkar but as a filmmaker, I’m trying to match the same thought which Savarkar had. So, the character of Savarkar in the film will not have any difference from what Savarkar was in real life. He was the iconic freedom fighter and we’ll ensure that he’s never forgotten ever by any Indian.”

Actor Randeep Hooda shared, “This is a salute to one of the tallest unsung heroes of India’s struggle for freedom and self-actualisation. I hope I can live up to the challenge of filling such big shoes of a true revolutionary and tell his real story which had been brushed under the carpet for so long..”

“Working out with Akshay Kumar at 4 am was definitely better than sleeping” – Kapil Sharma shares hilarious video ahead of Samrat Prithviraj release

A day ago, it was announced that Akshay Kumar starrer historical drama Prithviraj has a new name now. After being demanded by Karni Sena, the film has been renamed Samrat Prithviraj. The producers have reportedly written a letter to the national president, youth president, and the Maharashtra president of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena on Friday to convey their decision that the film has now been titled Samrat Prithviraj. Following that, Kapil Sharma unveiled a video of him working out with Akshay Kumar but also mentioned Samrat Prithviraj as the film’s name.

A video of Kapil meeting Akshay had 4am for workout and share a ‘banter’. During the workout, when learning sword fighting with real sword, Kapil ends up running away after seeing the hardwork. Sharing the video, Kapil wrote on Instagram, “What an experience! Working out with @akshaykumar at 4 AM was definitely better than sleeping Dekho hamara video together!”

Speaking of Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar will be playing the titular role along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana among others. The film also marks the debut of former beauty pageant winner Manushi Chhillar and it is directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The film is slated to release on June 3, 2022.

Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Gauri Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Sriram Nene strike a pose at Karan Johar’s 50th birthday bash

Filmmaker Karan Johar turned a year older on May 25 and hosted a grand bash celebrating his 50th birthday. The who’s who of Bollywood, Telugu industry  were in attendance for this party at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. From Gauri Khan to Raveena Tandon, Varun Dhawan to Sidharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif to Hrithik Roshan-Saba Azad, Kiara Advani to Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay Deverakonda to Shahid Kapoor, it was a night to remember. While Shah Rukh Khan didn’t come from main red carpet to pose for paparazzi, he was seen dancing and enjoying at the party. Meanwhile, Salman Khan was also in attendance.

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit have worked together in Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, whereas Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri have worked in Dil To Pagal Hai, Devdas, Anjaam, Koyala, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam among others.

Lee Yoo Mi, Ong Seong Wu, Byun Woo Seok, Kim Hae Sook and Kim Jung Eun confirmed to star in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon sequel

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon sequel is officially happening. For years, there were speculations around the sequel but cast wasn’t confirmed. But, now, Lee Yoo Mi, Ong Seong Wu, Byun Woo Seok, Kim Hae Sook and Kim Jung Eun have been confirmed to star in the sequel titled Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon.

Squid Game and All Of Us Are Dead breakout star Lee Yoo Mi will be headlining the project with the two males played by More Than Friends star Ong Seong Wu and Record Of Youth actor Byun Woo Seok. According to Korean tabloid Soompi, “The sequel will revolve around Do Bong Soon’s distant cousin Kang Nam Soon, who has immense strength. Not only does she have great power, but so does her mother Hwang Geum Joo and grandmother Gil Joong Gan.”

Taking on the titular role, Lee Yoo Mi will play the role of Kang Nam Soon who is cheerful young woman with great abilities. She was a missing child in Mongolia and came to Gangnam to find her parents. Kim Hae Sook, veteran South Korean actor, will essay the role of Kang’s maternal grandmother Gil Joong Gan. Kim Jung Eun will play the role of Hwang Geum Joo who is wealthy and righteous woman in Gangnam doing good deeds in search for her daughter.

Ong Seong Woo takes on the role of detective Kang Hee Sik, from secret investigation team, who is working on investigating drugs in Gangnam. Byun Woo Seok plays the antagonist Ryu Si Oh.

The sequel, which will center around new drug crimes in Gangnam, will be penned by Mine writer Baek Mi Kyung and helmed by Work Later, Drink Now director Kim Jung Sik. The makers plan to begin filming this year and the series will premiere in first half of 2023.

Aryan Khan refrains from social gatherings; was coaxed to attend Karan Johar’s party

After Karan Johar’s grand birthday party on May 25, there have been many a snide remark on Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan’s sullen look when the paparazzi clicked him at the venue. A close friend of the Khans spoke up in young Khan’s defence. “Leave the boy alone. You first rob him of all happiness. Then you expect him to throw obliging smiles into the camera. This is inhuman. Leave the kid alone. He is just 24. He has been through hell. He is scarred for life. Now you want him to smile for you. Give the child a break.”

Says the friend, “Aryan doesn’t want to attend any parties after what happened. He had attended that decisive rave party on a ship on the insistence of some friends. How was he to know it would change his life? Now he is fearful of any social interaction. He doesn’t even socialize with his closest friends.”

Apparently, Karan Johar had to persuade Aryan to attend the part. “Aryan didn’t want to go for Karan’s birthday party. But Karan is close to the entire family. Shah Rukh, his wife Gauri and Karan had to coax Aryan (to attend the party). In fact he was reluctant to even attend the IPL matches to support his Dad’s team,” says the friend.

It would probably be a very long time before Aryan’s wounds are healed. What he needs is empathy and privacy to overcome the demons that have lodged themselves in his subconscious.

Friends say the Khan family is still grappling with the tragedy. “They may seem normal. But Aryan’s time in jail has imprisoned his entire family in a pall of gloom. Their sense of shared and individual happiness is for now, gone. So please let them solve their crisis and please don’t judge Aryan for not smiling. He is suffering.”

Cannes 2022: Deepika Padukone calls Ranveer Singh ‘my trophy’ as he adorably sits on her lap

Over a week ago, Ranveer Singh was photographed at the airport heading to Cannes. The actor, who was last in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, headed to the French Riviera to be with his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, who is serving as a jury member. The actor didn’t update much on social media but several pictures went viral on the internet. Now, the actress shared behind-the-scenes video on her Instagram account in which sees a glimpse of Singh.

 

In the short clip, Deepika Padukone receives a pack of Twix chocolate which she shares with her team. But, then, she goes on to say that her trophy is Ranveer Singh who then sits on her lap in the video. She wore a polka dot jumpsuit whereas he was in sweatsuit.

On the work front, Deepika was most recently seen in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan. She will next appear in Pathaan alongside Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. Aside from that, she has Amitabh Bachchan’s The Intern, Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter, and Prabhas’ Project K.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh will next star in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and Shankar’s Anniyan remake.
