Vikram director Lokesh Kanagaraj overwhelmed by the audience’s response; Kamal Haasan says ‘all power to your endeavours’

Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan is soaring high post the stupendous response of the audience for Vikram which also stars Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi. The film continues to roar down South whilst it is making good noise in the North belt as well. Upon witnessing the overwhelming response, director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to social media to thank the audience for their support. Kamal Haasan also sent him best wishes for future endeavours.

Lokesh said he has no idea how he will repay the love of the fans. His tweet read, “I haven’t been this emotional ever. The acceptance u’ve showed #Vikram and me has been so overwhelming.I don’t know how i’m gonna repay you guys for all this love.Ever grateful to @ikamalhaasan sir and my amazing people. So moved. Love you all.”

To which, Kamal Haasan responded, “The only way you can do any debt management with a loving audience is to never become complacent. Do honest back-breaking work, they love and respect that. Vikram is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya. It was released in theatres on June 3.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all smiles in photo with Ranveer Singh, calls him ‘the sweetest ever’

Samantha Ruth Prabhu had a delightful weekend as she met with Ranveer Singh. The actress took to her Instagram stories and shared a picture with Ranveer. She was all smiling in the photo. While it is unclear whether it was for a project or the two actors bumped into each other, it was clearly a sign that they should, infact, work together.

She shared the picture with the caption, “The sweetest ever.” In the picture, Samantha and Ranveer seemed to be posing for a selfie. Ranveer reposted the picture and wrote, “’twas a delight.” In the photo, the actress donned a white shirt with a badge with her maiden name on it. Meanwhile, the actor was donning a blue shirt.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer Singh was most recently seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. He will be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus with Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez. He will also star in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt. He has also signed Shankar’s next, which is the Anniyan remake.

Samantha, on the other hand, has been busy shooting Kushi. She also has Yashoda, Shaakuntalam, and reportedly the Indian adaptation of Citadel with Varun Dhawan.

Akshay Kumar has completed three decades in the film industry. The actor, who is currently seen on the big screen in Samrat Prithviraj, has made a mark in the industry with his action and comedy films. From being known as Khiladi Kumar in the industry to showcasing his comedic timings in films like Hera Pheri, and Welcome among others, he has successfully surpassed 3 decades in the industry.

Akshay completed 30 years in the film industry with the Samrat Prithviraj shoot and recently answered 30 questions to give a glimpse of his life outside work. When asked what is something he never leaves his house without, he said, “Zenobia, Sukhi, and my bodyguard.” Zenobia Kohla is Akshay Kumar’s manager.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will next star in Ram Setu, Selfiee, Gorkha, Mission Cinderella, and Sorarai Pottru remake among others.

IIFA 2022: Sara Ali Khan enthralls Abu Dhabi with her ‘Chaka Chak’ performance, see inside pics and videos

Sara Ali Khan was giving her heart and soul to the rehearsals of her IIFA performance. The actress shared glimpses of her dazzling performance on her Instagram stories. She danced on several of her hits including ‘Chaka Chak’ from Atrangi Re, ‘Tere Bin’ from Simmba among others.

Taking to her social media, the actress shared a short video of her IIFA performance from Abu Dhabi in which she can be seen performing on the stage in a blue dress. She added a thankful note to the choreographer saying, “@sanjayshettyofficial Thank you so much for everything sir. This magical night would never have been possible without you and your outstanding team!”

Samrat Prithviraj Day 3 Box Office Occupancy: Film hardly sees any growth on Day 3; expected to collect Rs. 13.25 cr. on Sunday

The Chandraprakash Dwivedi directed historical drama Samrat Prithviraj starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar hit screens on Friday. After much hype and massive promotions, the film which was made on a budget upward of Rs. 200 cr. hit a total of 3750 screens in three languages. However, contrary to expectations the film which also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood, started off on a less than expected note with just Rs. 10.70 cr. coming in on Day 1. Following this, on the second day, the business of Samrat Prithviraj witnessed a rather minimal increase of only 17%, managing to draw in a further Rs. 12.60 cr.

Now on Day 3, reports suggest that Samrat Prithviraj that has been facing an uphill task at the box office has continued to flounder. With little to no momentum in multiplex-dominated sectors, the historical drama is heading for troubled waters. As per trade predictions, the film is likely to see hardly 8-10% growth on its third day as compared to its second. With key money-spinning circuits like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and other not contributing as usual the overall business of the film has taken a serious hit. On the other hand territories like Rajasthan, CP, and CI have seen a decent spate of collections, however, the business from these single-screen dominated sectors is not really enough given the film’s massive budget.

Speaking of budgets, Samrat Prithviraj which was made on a budget upwards of Rs. 200 crores still has a long way ahead before it can be termed as a break-even venture. Sadly, as things stand today, the chances of Samrat Prithviraj entering the Rs. 100 cr. remain bleak.

Samrat Prithviraj Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer shows 17% jump on Day 2; collects Rs. 12.60 cr.

The Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj was released earlier this week on Friday. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi the film which also features Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood took off to a lackluster start with just Rs. 10.70 cr. coming in. Now on its second day the film which was released across 3750 screens in three languages, has seen a very small increase in business.

As predicted, Samrat Prithviraj which saw around a 17% increase has managed to draw in a further Rs. 12.60 cr. on its second day running. With this, the total collections of the Akshay Kumar starrer are now pegged at Rs. 23.30 cr, which is a far cry from usual Akshay Kumar starrers that tend to see massive collections over their opening weekend. As of now, the low-key business of the film is being attributed to the fact that multiplex-dominated metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and others have not really been contributing to the film’s business like usual. Although the mass-dominated, single screen belts have been lapping up the film, the absence of such major cash-rich sectors has severely dented the overall business of Samrat Prithviraj.

Made on a budget upward of Rs. 200 cr the historical drama needs to find an audience in urgency, given the budget of the film, its overall business needs to be equally high to turn a profit. However, given the current trend of general unacceptance in metros, the film looks to be heading for troubled waters.

At the current pace, trade predictions state that the business of Samrat Prithviraj which will see a further increase on Day 3, is likely to close its opening weekend with a total collection of around Rs. 38 cr. This low-key collection, despite the heavy promotions, does not paint a rosy picture for the film in its coming first week.
