Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and co-owner of IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) recently bumped into cricketer Chris Gayle in the US. The cricketer, who had plied his trade for the cricket team, didn’t participate in IPL 2022 but plans to return in 2023 tournament.
According to Preity, she bumped into him in Atlanta and she took to social media to share photos. “Weekend surprise. Always fun to bump into @chrisgayle333 and @pareshghelani #Atlanta #Weekend #Desivibe #Ting,” wrote the actress on Twitter. In the photo, one can also see Pehlaj Gehlani.
Varun Dhawan is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film, Jugjugg Jeeyo. Amidst this, he had recent interaction with media where he was asked about the slump that Bollywood has faced with back-to-back releases and how South movies have overpowered the Hindi films.
During a recent media interaction, the actor was asked about three South films that overpowered Hindi movies – Pushpa: The Rise, RRR and KGF: Chapter 2. Sharing his thoughts on the ongoing North vs South debate, Varun said, “Cinema is doing well right now. The audience has the right to watch the cinema they want to watch. Hollywood films have been working for so many years. It is because they are liking it and, therefore, they are watching it. I myself enjoyed watching KGF 2. I had a great time watching it. It is one of the biggest grossers right now.”
When asked how Bollywood movies have flopped at the box office in the last couple of months, he pointed out that there were South films as well that didn’t work either. Varun added, “7-8 major flops have happened in their cinema also. That has also happened because nothing was released in the last 2 and a half years. I feel a good film will come. In the Hindi film industry, we have a lot of good films coming up. Every film can’t be a hit. The audience won’t watch a bad film, whether it is English, Hindi or a South film. They will not watch.”
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of Jugjugg Jeeyo on June 24. Directed by Raj Mehta, the actor will be seen alongside Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. He also has Bhediya with Kriti Sanon and Bawaal with Janhvi Kapoor.

Telugu actress Sai Pallavi is making headlines over her recent comments. A complaint has been filed against the actress for hurting Hindu sentiments in Hyderabad. This comes after she reportedly compared the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits with that of cow vigilantism.
Referring Vivek Agnihotri’s movie The Kashmir Files during an interview with the Great Andhra Youtube channel, Sai Pallavi said, in Telugu, “The Kashmir Files showed how Kashmiri Pandits were killed at the time. If you are taking the issue as a religious conflict, during Covid-19, I had read some reports (that) a Muslim driver was lynched by cow vigilantes chanting Jai Sree Ram for transporting a cow. So where is the difference from what happened then and what is happening now?”
A case has now been filed against Sai Pallavi in Hyderabad. Sai Pallavi has been promoting her latest film Virata Parvam alongside Rana Daggubati. In the film, the actress’ character falls in love with a Naxal leader (played by Daggubati) in Telangana. Hrithik Roshan’s maternal grandmother Padma Rani Omprakash, wife of filmmaker J Om Prakash and mother of Pinkie Roshan, has passed away. She died on Friday morning at 3am due to age-related issues at age 91.
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan confirmed the news to Hindustan Times, saying, “Unfortunately the news is true. Om Shanti.” Reportedly, Hrithik’s maternal grandmother was staying with the Roshan family for couple of years and was bed ridden. Pinkie Roshan would often share photos with her mother.
