Ranveer Singh is not replacing Karan Johar as a host of Bigg Boss OTT

It has been widely rumoured that superstar Ranveer Singh is going to host the second season of Bigg Boss OTT. It is now been confirmed that this news is entirely untrue as Reliance sources close in the know denied this information vehemently.

A trade source says, “This is absolutely untrue. It’s not fact-checked and nothing is brewing in this regard. Ranveer is currently too busy with his film commitments and he is set to start working on exciting tentpole films that will be announced in due course of time.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is gearing up for his upcoming variety show Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls arriving on Netflix soon. He has several projects in the pipeline including Cirkus, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and Anniyan remake.

Akshay Kumar speaks about joining politics: ‘I’m very happy making films’

Akshay Kumar has no plans on joining politics but will continue to do whatever is possible in his capacity to take up social issues. The actor recently was the chief guest at the book launch of Hindujas and Bollywood which was held at the Institute of Directors at London’s Pall Mall. When asked about his political career, he said he was happy making films.

“I am very happy making films. As an actor, I do whatever possible to take up social issues. I have produced 150 films, the one nearest to my heart is Raksha Bandhan. I produce commercial films, sometimes with social issues. I produce three-four films a year,” Akshay said, via PTI

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar had two releases this year – Bachchhan Paandey and Samrat Prithviraj – both of which failed their run at the box office. He will next star in Raksha Bandhan. Besides Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar has several movies in the pipeline including Selfiee, Ram Setu, and Gorkha.

Brahmastra meets Rocketry – The Nambi Effect: Shah Rukh Khan poses with soon-to-be dad Ranbir Kapoor, R Madhavan, Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji, and Nambi Narayanan

A recent photo that has garnered attention on social media is a star studded one where the cast of Brahmastra met the cast of Rocketry – The Nambi Effect. The soon-to-be father Ranbir Kapoor, who will next be seen in Brahmastra, was seen posing with ISRO scientist Nambi Narayana, his onscreen self, R Madhavan, Shah Rukh Khan, filmmaker Karan Johar and bestie Ayan Mukerji in this picture. Looking at the background, it seems like the sets of a film.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan is a part of both films. Readers would be aware that Shah Rukh Khan has done a cameo in Rocketry – The Nambi Effect in its Hindi and English versions whereas the South version features superstar Suriya. On the other hand, we had earlier reported that the superstar has a cameo in Brahmastra. While his role in the film is kept under wraps, the recently released trailer fueled up many theories regarding King Khan’s role in the Dharma Production venture. With Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role in the mythological fantasy drama, it is directed by Ayan Mukerji and features to be mother and Ranbir’s wife Alia Bhatt as the leading lady.

As for Shah Rukh Khan, the actor is currently busy with many films in the pipeline. While he will next be seen in an action packed role in the film Pathan that stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles, he also films with Rajkumar Hirani and South filmmaker Atlee. Collaborating with Hirani for the first time, the actor will be seen alongside Taapsee Pannu in Dunki. On the other hand, South superstar Nayanthara will be paired opposite Shah Rukh in Atlee’s film Jawan.

Chakda Xpress: Anushka Sharma announces schedule wrap of Jhulan Goswami biopic in a true cricketer style

The last time we saw Anushka Sharma on the big screen was in Aanand L. Rai’s 2018 film Zero which also featured Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Since then, Anushka has been absent from films, but despite taking a break the actress has been busy working on her comeback film Chakda Xpress. Based on the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, the sports biopic will feature Anushka playing the role of a cricketer. In fact, Anushka has been regularly sharing updates on the film, and the rigorous training she has been undergoing for the same. Now, the actress took to social media sharing an image announcing the schedule wrap of the venture.

As per the post, Anushka Sharma has wrapped the first schedule of Chakda Xpress. Sharing an image announcing the same in a true blue cricketer style, Anushka posted an image of a cricket ball that read, ‘It’s a schedule wrap’. Along with the image she posted, “SCHEDULE ONE DONE. More to follow.. ???? ???? #ChakdaXpress @jhulangoswami @prositroy @kans26 @netflix_in @officialcsfilms”.

Interestingly, the film Chakda Xpress will see Anushka playing the role of a cricketer for the first time onscreen. Previously talking about the film, the actress had commented on how women have to go that extra mile to earn their place in this patriarchal world. Further talking about Jhulan Goswami’s life the actress stated that it was testimony to the fact that she carved her own destiny, and fought for every inch of the spotlight and recognition.

As for Chakda Xpress, produced by Anushka’s brother, Karnesh Ssharma, and directed by Prosit Roy the film is expected to premiere on Netflix next year.

Koffee With Karan 7 Teaser: Samantha Ruth Prabhu says Karan Johar is the reason for unhappy marriages

Amidst all the rumours about whether it is going to happen or no, Karan Johar finally put an end to it by announcing a couple of months ago that he will be returning with Koffee With Karan. And last month, he also announced that the spicy hot goss and fun chat show will return on July 7. Known for causing controversies, the show has been a fan favourite for its fun chats, inside scoops as audiences can see a much more candid version of popular celebrities. The recent teaser of the show has definitely piqued interest, not only because of the topics of discussion we can expect but also with celebs like Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda making their couch debut. During the same, a statement made by Samantha, who is currently in news after separating from husband Naga Chaitanya, garnered a lot of attention.

In the recently released teaser, which is the third one since last couple of months, Karan Johar gave a sneak-peek into the guest list viewers can expect from the show. During the same, we spotted Samantha Ruth Prabhu making an appearance with Akshay Kumar. Although the two have never worked together in a film or a show, they worked recently together for an ad commercial. In the said episode, Samantha was seen discussing about marriage wherein she made a statement accusing Karan Johar of ruining marriages. She said, “You are the reason for unhappy marriages. You portray it to be K3G (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) whereas in reality it is KGF.” Needless to say, her comment left everyone in splits.

Interestingly, Samantha spoke about marriage amidst several rumours that are doing the rounds post her separation with Naga Chaitanya. Besides that, in yet another peek-a-boo from the episode, we also saw Akshay Kumar misunderstanding Instagram filters as ‘fillers’.

Kaveri Priyam misses being Dr. Monami in Ziddi Dil Maane Na and this is the reason!

Ziddi Dil Maane Na that featured Kaveri Priyam in the strong role of a cadet at a military training academy, was a multi-starrer where she was paired opposite Shaleen Malhotra. Last month, the show came to an end and needless to say, she has been missing her role. One of the major reason is that she played the role of a doctor, a profession she highly respects and admires. She played Dr. Monami, a woman with an empathetic heart. Recently speaking about her love for the profession, Kaveri revealed that it was a special character that will always have place in her heart.

Speaking about her admiration for doctors, Kaveri Priyam aka Dr. Monami said, “I understand what all a doctor goes through. Before this character, I could only hear stories about the doctors but while playing it I could feel it more. It is a very delicate balance that all the doctors need to maintain between being emotional and being stable during any calamity. I think the doctors are the strongest because it is not easy to go through all those emotions and be so strong on the face because ultimately doctors are the ones we can rely on and have faith on”

Recalling what the doctors underwent during Covid, Kaveri expressed pride in their profession, She said, “Doctors’ contribution in the past 2 years has been immense. The efforts they have taken, staying away from their own family during the times of COVID in order to save the lives of people out there must have been very challenging. The job they have done going beyond their profession and doing great things for the humanity is what has made them real heroes. Truly they have emerged as the real heroes of the nation.”

We wonder if we will see her once again playing a doctor in her future ventures. On the other hand, speaking about Ziddi Dil Maane Na, the series also featured Kunal Karan Kapoor, Simple Kaul, Aditya Deshmukh, and Diljot Chhabra in lead roles. The show ended on June 4, 2022.
