Kangana Ranaut unveils first look of Emergency, plays the role of PM Indira Gandhi; watch video

Kangana Ranaut’s next film Emergency, which goes on floors, tells the story of a watershed moment in the political history of the country, the Emergency, which was declared by the then PM Indira Gandhi on June 25, 1975, and lasted till 21 March 1977. During this 21-month period, civil liberties were suspended, press censorship came into being and elections were canceled among other impositions. It is often referred to as one of the most controversial periods of India’s Independent history.

The film’s first look shows how the actress has sunk her teeth into the skin of her character as the late PM Indira Gandhi. The prosthetics, the wardrobe, and the demeanor are all reminiscent of the late Indian politician. This time around, Ranaut is donning multiple hats. She is not only playing the lead role but she is also producing and directing the film. Emergency will be her second directorial venture after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

While Ranaut is helming the project, Ritesh Shah – who has written films like Pink and Kahaani has penned Emergency. Talking about her film Ranaut shares, “Emergency’ reflects one of the most important periods in Indian political history which changed the way we view power and that’s why I decided to tell this story. Moreover, playing a public figure on the screen is always a challenge because one has to get the look, the characteristics, and the persona right. I spent a significant amount of time researching the subject and once I felt I had enough ammunition, I commenced the film’s shoot.

Manikarnika films presents Emergency which is written and directed by Kangana Ranaut. The film is produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut. The screenplay and dialogues are by Ritesh Shah.

Koffee with Karan 7 : Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan are ‘Fashionista’ besties in B-town, see pics

With the return of his celebrity talk show Koffee with Karan, Karan Johar is ready with a list of questions for some of the most well-known Bollywood actors to answer his racy questions. We witnessed newlywed Alia Bhatt and her co-star and friend Ranveer Singh gracing the couch of season 7 of Koffee with Karan in a hot and interesting conversation with Karan. The public responded favourably to the first episode, and the fans can’t wait for the release of the second one. Recently, the teaser for the second episode of the show was revealed, featuring gorgeous Bollywood besties and celebrities Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali. In it, they are seen gracing the sofa while sharing tales of their flair, humour, and escapades.

Ahead of the episode’s premiere on Disney+Hotstar on Thursday, both Sara and Janhvi shared some stunning pictures together from a photo session and they shared it with an identical caption that read: “May or may not have spilled one too many koffee beans.” Sara can be seen wearing Yves Saint Laurent outfit in the photos. Her black halter dress features a mini length hem with a spread collar and front buttons. Her form is highlighted by the dress’s close fit.

Sara’s glam options were mauve lip colour, smoky eye shadow, kohl-lined eyebrows, black eyeliner, and heavy mascara on the lashes, dewy base, and centre-parted open tresses. The ensemble was completed with a pair of gold-toned ear studs.

In terms of Janhvi’s outfit, she wore an Alexandre Vauthier gown. It’s embellished with sparkling sequin accents, a plunging neckline and bare back, gathered accents on the front, a floor-length hem, and a risqué thigh-high slit. Janhvi’s dress also had a body-con silhouette that highlighted her contours.

Janhvi Kapoor omitted all accessories in order to highlight the overall gown. Lastly, the actor went with a glossy nude lip colour, subtle Smokey eye shadow, sleek eyeliner, mascara-adorned eyelashes, dazzling highlighter, reddened cheeks, on-trend brows, black nail polish, and side-parted curled open tresses.

Meanwhile, both actresses have an impressive slate of films coming up. Janhvi’s next film, Good Luck Jerry, will be released on Disney+hotstar on July 29. She is also starring Bawaal with Varun Dhawan, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi with Rajkummar Rao, and Milli with Sunny Kaushal, while Sara was most recently seen in Atrangi Re and will next be seen in Gaslight with Vikrant Massey and an untitled film with Vicky Kaushal.

The much-awaited Koffee With Karan Season 7 is back with stirring cups of steamy confessions, secrets and manifestations. In the season’s second episode, sizzling Bollywood besties and screen favourites – Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan grace the couch with stories about their style, wits and adventure. As the show’s host Karan Johar prods them about life, work and love; names and incidents get revealed by the dynamic duo. In the upcoming episode, the two stars retrace how their friendship was sealed by becoming neighbours.

“We were neighbours in Goa and we had a common friend. Then one day we started talking. We ended up talking till 8 am in the morning,” said Janhvi Kapoor. To this, Sara Ali Khan added that their impromptu session ended up being an all-nighter. The duo continued speaking about their escapades in Goa for two days, bonding over work, family and interests.

Adding on to their travel stories, Janhvi Kapoor recalled how she was thoroughly impressed with Sara Ali Khan during a trip to Disneyland. The daredevil Sara Ali Khan helped Janhvi jump the queue wherever possible. “She broke every line. I kept thinking ‘she is so cool’! I would never have been able to do that. Because of her, I did not even have to wait. It was the best trip ever!”

Koffee with Karan Season 7 will air exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, with new games including Koffee Bingo, Mashed Up, along with the all-time favourite rapid fire – bringing fans closer to their favourite stars.

Janhvi Kapoor opens up on prepping for her role in Good Luck Jerry; says, “I trained extensively for the Bihari dialect”

All of Bihar is listening to Janhvi Kapoor. She plays a Bihari daughter of an ailing mother in Sidharth Sengupta’s Good Luck, Jerry which streams on Disney+ Hostar from July 29. The film is a remake of the 2018 Tamil hit Kolamaavu Kokila in which Nayanthara played the lead.

After hearing Hrithik Roshan’s and Sara Ali Khan’s ‘Bihari’ accent in Super 30 and Atrangi Re, Janhvi decided to work really hard to get the Bihari accent right. Commenting on her dialect for Good Luck Jerry Janhvi Kapoor said, “I trained extensively for the Bihari dialect. We had a few coaches namely Ganesh Sir and Mr. Vinod. We attended a workshop and listened to all those songs.”

Janhvi was even made to learn how to abuse in a Bihari accent. “That’s right. I was made to do an exercise wherein he would make me say Bihari abuses as a part of the training. The whole process was a lot of fun eventually. I am so thankful about getting to know the syntax of that section of our country.”

Khloé Kardashian expecting second child with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson via surrogate; the baby was conceived before his cheating scandal

Reality star and entrepreneur Khloé Kardashian will soon be a mom of two. The 38-year-old The Kardashians star and her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson are expecting their second child together via surrogate.

“We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November,” the representative told PEOPLE media portal. Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family.”

The surrogate was already pregnant before the NBA player’s cheating scandal surfaced last December. In January, Thompson confirmed that he fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. In his Instagram story, he wrote, “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”

He, at the time, had apologised to The Kardashians star saying, “Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were an on-again, off-again couple for several years starting from 2016. They welcomed their daughter True in 2018. Thompson has a 5-year-old son Prince, with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig.

Aryan Khan can travel outside India after special NDPS Court directs release of passport

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan will now be able to travel outside India after a special NDPS Court directed the release of his passport. His passport was seized after the starkid was arrested last year in the cruise ship drugs bust case.

As per Live Law India, Judge VV Patil cancelled Aryan Khan’s bail bond and discharged surety. “Admittedly, no complaint was filed against six persons including the present applicant as no evidence surfaced during investigation. In view of the no objection given by the respondent NCB SIT, prayer for cancellation of bail bonds needs to be allowed and passport of applicant needs to be released,” the court said in the order.

Aryan Khan was embroiled in a drug case in October last year post the Narcotics Control Bureau conducted a raid on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Aryan was taken into custody on the night of October 2 along with a few others. He was kept under judicial custody for 28 days before he was let go on bail.

Earlier in May 2022, NCB gave him a clean chit in the drugs bust case. In its charge sheet, NCB said that complaint is not being filed against 6 persons in the case due to lack of sufficient evidence and a complaint is being filed against 14 other persons in the case under NDPS Act provisions.”
