Box Office – Thor: Love and Thunder set to get into the 90s, JugJugg Jeeyo paced towards the 85 crores mark

Thor: Love and Thunder has now come quite close to the Rs. 90 crores mark and in quick time would be aiming for entry into the prestigious Rs. 100 Crore Club. Though back in time for Hindi films it had almost turned out to be a norm with 10-15 centuries scored every year, but for Hollywood releases it was still not as frequent. However, now in the post-pandemic times, it is turning out to be a reverse scenario as Marvel films have been regularly hitting centuries and now Thor: Love and Thunder set to be yet another welcome addition to the list.

Box Office - Thor: Love and Thunder set to get into the 90s, JugJugg Jeeyo paced towards the 85 crores mark

The film collected Rs. 3.50 crores* on Sunday, which was further improvement over its Saturday collections. With this, the Marvel superhero flick has now touched Rs. 89 crores*. Of course, at one point in time it had seemed that by the second weekend would be through, the film would have comfortably gone past the Rs. 110 crores mark. However, such huge was the crash for the film from the first Monday itself that it is now managing to collect this much just because there is no worthy competition from Bollywood.

This is what’s allowing footfalls to trickle in for JugJugg Jeeyo as well as it managed to see Rs. 1.20 crores* coming in on its fourth Sunday. This is in fact the last time that the film is seeing a day go past the Rs. 1 crore mark as it primarily has four more days to collect and then it would be barely a few lakhs that would be added to its total, courtesy – arrival of Shamshera. Nonetheless, whatever best that could have come for the film has happened already and those associated with it won’t have many complaints, what with the total standing at Rs. 83.57 crores*.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Today I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to share the same stage with you as I have been an admirer of your work since the inception of your career.”

The grand evening will also be graced by the leads from COLORS’ most favorite shows like ‘Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho’, ‘Harphoul Mohinoi’, ‘Parineeti’, ‘Sasural Simar Ka 2’  ‘Naagin’ among others. Aamir Khan will also be seen interacting with them along with other judges. In fact, he was seen ganging up with judge Marzi Pestonjee and Neetu Kapoor and was seen poking fun at lovebirds Karan Kundrra and Tejasswi Prakash. Aamir also played a little game of ‘Who knows Tejasswi better’ with Karan Kundrra and the actress’ Naagin co-star Simba Nagpal. Needless to say, it will quite a moment to watch who wins this quirky competition.

Responding to whether getting married and how his outlook has changed about the future Ranbir added, “I think legacy is something you only realise when you’re retiring. It’s too early for me to… I know my CA a couple of months back came to me, asking me, ‘Should we make a will?’” Continuing to talk about his reaction the actor continued, “I was like, ‘Will?’ I started getting fear, like am I going to die? Why would I make a will at this age? So, the truth is all these things you don’t think about. Right now I’m only thinking about the excitement of having a child, of living a life with the child, how I’m going to be, and what it’s going to be like. I have two exciting films coming out, I’ve just gotten married. These things are on my mind, I’m not really thinking about the future. I’m just going to take it one day at a time, and be the best version of myself.”

Back on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor has two major releases this year, first being the soon to release Shamshera followed by the Ayan Mukherji directorial Brahmastra.

Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan share more unseen photos from the sets of Bawaal

It seems that even though, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have come together for the first time for a film, the two share a great camaraderie off screen. From teasing each other to pulling each other’s leg, the actors have been sharing a lot from the sets of their shoot schedule. The recent one, from the sets of the Nitesh Tiwari directorial Bawaal, is an adorable photo of Janhvi resting her shoulder on Varun’s shoulder.

Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan share more unseen photos from the sets of Bawaal

Earlier today, Janhvi Kapoor shared a photo from their chilling scenes during the shoot breaks. The actress even posted a funny comment, teasing Varun of being a poser saying; “in between takes, comfy cosy but VD still posy” This is not the first time where the actors have been teasing each other. Not too long ago, Varun had shared a video from their Poland shoot schedule where he was seen shooting Janhvi when the latter arrived fashionably late for one of the shoots.

While this back-and-forth posting of videos and pics have become a trend, we don’t why, this particular post was taken down from Janhvi’s Instagram handle. Yes, the actress has apparently deleted it. However, fan clubs of the actress were quick to add it in their account. Here, have a look:

On the other hand, Varun Dhawan too took to Instagram to share another set of photos which featured the actors posing for the camera on what seems like a car from the junkyard in their stylish, casual avatars. He captioned it saying; “Hawaayein ☁ Finished another sched in krakow now on to the next.” Here, have a look:

Box Office: HIT – The First Case does a bit better, Shabaash Mithu stays low – Saturday updates

It was a low day for new Hindi releases on Saturday as well as collections hardly saw much of a growth. Of course HIT – The First Case is a better performing movie when compared to Shabaash Mithu, though that too is on a strictly relative scale.

Box Office: HIT - The First Case does a bit better, Shabaash Mithu stays low - Saturday updates

Let’s talk about HIT – The First Case first. The film has an edge when it comes to the content and has also seen better reviews. Not that they are being uniformly glowing but then the film has not been dissed either. Unfortunately though, it has that ‘OTT’ feel to it and moreover the namesake south original saw a good response for itself when streamed back in 2020. As a result, the footfalls have been impacted too. This was also evidenced in just about fair growth that the film saw on Saturday as Rs. 2.01 crores came in, with the total standing at Rs. 3.36 crores.

As for Shabaash Mithu, it is struggling big time. That has been the case with other sports based films as well where the story is based on a female protagonist. Prior to the pandemic even Kangana Ranaut’s Panga struggled and then Parineeti Chopra’s Saina couldn’t find any traction either when released theatrically last year. In fact Taapsee Pannu’s very own Rashmi Rocket too had a straight-to-digital release and now Shabaash Mithu, which seemed the most promising of the lot, could gather on Rs. 0.70 crores* on Sunday, hence resulting in Rs. 1.20 crores* total.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
