Shah Rukh Khan praises Alia Bhatt for Darlings: ‘You are the soul and sunshine of all things’

After the great response to the teaser of Darlings, the trailer of the much anticipated dark comedy dropped on Monday. The film is all set to premiere on 5th August 2022 on Netflix. The film marks the debut of Alia Bhatt as a co-producer. The film is also co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. On Monday, Alia shared the trailer on Twitter and wrote, “My first film as a producer!!! So excited nervous thrilled emotional to share it with you!!!!”

Sharing her tweet, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “Lil one I am also so anxious that u shared the responsibility of Eternal Sunshine Productions first film with me…that I will be biting my nails till it releases. But I feel we have a lovely film and u r the soul and sunshine of all things Darlings.”

“Shah Rukh told me, ‘I usually don’t co-produce but I will do it for you, for the memories. Don’t worry at all, bahut mazze karenge (we will have a lot of fun),’” Alia said.

The actress also spoke about Shah Rukh Khan’s reaction after watching Darlings. “Shah Rukh called me up and thanked me in this film’s lingo. He said, ‘Thanks u darlings for doing this movie,’” she said with a smile on her face at the press conference on Monday.

Darlings is produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Gaurav Verma and marks the feature film debut for director Jasmeet K Reen. With an exceptionally versatile cast including Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in lead roles, Darlings is a dark comedy entertainer brimming with secrets, mystery, and drama. The film delves into the lives of a resilient mother-daughter, fighting for love and finding their footing in Mumbai whilst also battling their demons.

Aamir Khan says ‘we got saved’ after averting Laal Singh Chaddha clash with KGF: Chapter 2

Laal Singh Chaddha is gearing up for its release and the makers are going out and out to make sure everybody gets to witness the inspirational journey of Laal Singh Chaddha. In a press conference conducted in Hyderabad, Aamir Khan, Chiranjeevi & Naga Chaitanya interacted with the media about the upcoming release. Aamir said that the delay in post-production of the film saved them considering they averted clash with KGF: Chapter 2 starring Yash in the lead role.

“I remember when KGF 2 was about to release, there was a lot of excitement among the Hindi audience, amongst my own friends. Laal Singh Chaddha was supposed to release on that day. But fortunately for us, Red Chillies was taking a little time on the VFX so we got saved! Otherwise, we would have come with KGF 2,” Aamir Khan told reporters.

Laal Singh Chaddha, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Chaitanya Akkineni. It is an official remake of Forrest Gump. The film will be released on 11th August.

SHOCKING! Paras Kalnawat will not be a part of Anupamaa anymore; Producer Rajan Shahi terminates the contract with actor

Paras Kalnawat, who plays the adorable second son of Anupamaa, garnered a lot of fame for his unconventional role in the Star Plus series. While the actor’s track has not been the focus for quite some time owing to the exit of his onscreen fiancé Nandini aka Anagha Bhosale, he was expected to return with a new track on the show. However, it seems that all of it is short-lived. With recent reports of the actor joining the Colors show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, it seems that the makers are quite miffed with his entry on the dance reality show. In fact, producers of the show have terminated their contract on the grounds of breach of contract.

In a recent statement released by the production house, it has been said, “Producer Rajan Shahi, who produces Anupamaa on Star Plus, has taken a stand to terminate the contract of actor Paras Kalnawat who played Samar in the show on account of breach of contract for signing up a show on another channel without any prior intimation. Directors Kut and Rajan Shahi has always been accommodating to actors and never stop any actor’s growth. Even in the case of Paras, in the past, adjustments were made to accommodate the opportunities he used to get and take up, but with the consent of the production house.”  On the other hand, Rajan Shahi too confirmed the developments adding, “We as a production house won’t entertain breach of contract.  We have terminated his services as an actor with immediate effect. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”

Anupamaa is a prime time show that has been ruling the TRP charts for the past few months. A new leading lady was brought on board to play the love interest of Samar who was still reeling from the after effects of his breakup with Nandini. Now, with the exit of Paras as Samar, it is yet to be seen who will fill the shoes of Anupama’s second son on the show. On the other hand, the actor was recently confirmed as the contestant of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10.

The Gray Man sequel starring Ryan Gosling in the works; Russo Brothers also developing a spin-off

Following the immensely successful release of The Gray Man this weekend, where it debuted as the No. 1 movie in 92 countries, Netflix is cementing plans for the IP to become a major spy franchise. A sequel to The Gray Man, is now in development with star Ryan Gosling and directors Joe and Anthony Russo set to return. The Russos and AGBO’s Mike Larocca will produce along with Joe Roth and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum for Roth Kirschenbaum Films. The Gray Man co-writer Stephen McFeely is writing.

A spin-off film, written by acclaimed screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Deadpool, Zombieland) is set to explore a different element of The Gray Man universe. The logline is being kept under wraps. The Gray Man is based on the best-selling book series by Mark Greaney.

The Gray Man is the third film from AGBO to premiere on Netflix, and the company’s second consecutive debut at #1 worldwide, with a sequel to follow. AGBO’s, 2020’s Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth, [is the 5th most popular film on Netflix] has a sequel to be released on Netflix in 2023.

Talking about the development of the sequel, Joe and Anthony Russo shared, “The audience reaction to The Gray Man has been nothing short of phenomenal. We are so appreciative of the enthusiasm that fans across the world have had for this film. With so many amazing characters in the movie, we had always intended for the Gray Man to be part of an expanded universe, and we are thrilled that Netflix is announcing a sequel with Ryan, as well as a second script that we’re excited to talk about soon.”

EXCLUSIVE: Taapsee Pannu doesn’t want to compare the current stardom of actresses to the stardom of Sridevi; says, “There was only one Sridevi”

Taapsee Pannu is known to speak her mind and more often than not, the actress has been very candid about the inequality in the film industry. While she states that it is the view of the world that has led to this gender disparity in terms of remuneration and privileges, she has also maintained that there are many actresses like her who have been fighting for this cause. All the actress wants is to be treated as equals and to be given work based on merit and not gender. During the promotions of Shabaash Mithu too, the actress was seen having a rather no holds barred interview with Bollywood Hungama, where she exclusively spoke about the constant discrimination and inequality in the film industry.

The actress made some strong and impactful statements about how the budget of her entire film is actually equal to a A-list male actor’s salary. During the same Bollywood Hungama interview she was asked about the stardom that Sridevi enjoyed. For the uninitiated, not only was she the first female superstar in Bollywood but the actress was actually an Indian superstar who enjoyed equal stardom in Tamil and Telugu industry as well. Speaking about it, Taapsee said, “But there has been only one Sridevi in so many years. So many other actresses have tried. Sridevi is like rare of the rarest blessing for our industry. She is just one Sridevi. We can’t generalize on the basis of that.”

She went on to add, “We cannot take one such example generalizing that if she had the privilege, all actresses will get the same privilege. On the other hand, when we look at heroes, there are like 50 heroes who have the same privileges. That ratio is very lopsided and for that, it will take years to get it to equal.”

Taapsee Pannu has time and again spoken about the disparity between remuneration given to an actress compared to an actor. She also candidly discussed about how audiences themselves wait for reviews in case of a female centric film whereas a male centric film often enjoys a great first day opening even without reviews.

Amazon Prime Video unveils Crash Course trailer which showcases highly competitive lives of students, watch video

Amazon Prime Video on Monday released the trailer of their original drama series Crash Course. The trailer showcases a tale of the highly competitive lives of students as they navigate through life as they juggle through the pressures of student life, all the while forging friendships that would stand the test of time. The trailer gives a sneak-peek into the different facets of friendship, love, peer pressure, and competitiveness that they undergo while trying to score high in the entrance exam that will shape their career. It also showcases how the rivalry between the coaching institutes wreaks havoc in the students’ lives.

Crash Course is created by Manish Hariprasad and directed by Vijay Maurya and is produced by Owlet Films. The series is a 10-episode original drama that brings a mix of seasoned and fresh talent who depict different challenges of students through their portrayal of the characters. Actors Mohit Solanki, Hridhu Haroon, Anushka Kaushik, , Bhavesh Balchandani, Aryan Singh, Hetal Gada, and Anvesha Vij play IT aspirants, while Riddhi Kumar is a medical coaching student. The show also features veteran actor Annu Kapoor alongside Bhanu Uday, Udit Arora, Pranay Pachauri, and Bidita Bag in pivotal roles.

Kriti Sanon to have a working birthday on the sets of Shehzada in Haryana

Kriti Sanon is constantly working, hopping from one film set to another. The  actress is now all set to mark her birthday this year on yet another set. As per a source close to the film, the entire cast is stationed in Haryana for the shoot of their next, Shehzada and even on 27th of July they will be in the Northern state so it is going to be a working birthday for the actress this year.

The cast was recently shooting a massive song with choreographer Ganesh Acharya. The film marks the reunion of Luka Chuppi duo Kartik and Kriti. It is Hindi remake of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

On the work front, Kriti Sanon is all set to be seen in films like Adipurush, Ganapath, Shehzada, Bhediya and Anurag Kashyap’s unannounced next.
