EXCLUSIVE: Kriti Sanon feels birthdays are overrated; says, “I don’t want to take the stress of planning anything on that day”

Kriti Sanon recently turned a year older in July 2022. The actress celebrated her special day at his work place with her colleagues that are on the sets of her forthcoming film Shehzada. When she was recently asked by Bollywood Hungama about what birthday means to her, the actress’ response left everyone surprised. She revealed that they are quite overrated and that it doesn’t have to be a big thing.

Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Kriti Sanon said, “I love myself but I think birthdays are overrated. I feel it is a little added pressure of making that day special. And it comes with a lot of expectations. The whole need of doing something on your birthday, I think all of that is very overrated.” She went on to add, “You will get calls where people will be like – what’s the plan? And sometimes you don’t have a plan. So, you’re like, I don’t know. But then you suddenly start feeling like, am I supposed to have a plan? Then there is this feeling that my birthday is gone and it feels like I’ve not done anything.”

Although, Kriti was like any other kid and was excited for her birthday during her childhood days. “I think, as a kid, maybe I used to be excited about my birthday. I used to love surprises. So I love it when someone is planning the surprise, but I don’t want to be planning anything. I don’t want to take the stress of planning anything on my birthday,” she concluded.

Kriti Sanon also spoke about how more often than not she ends up spending her birthday on phone. “Going through messages to respond to them is tough and tricky. Every year I think I will not be on phone and end up being on it. But now, I’m going to reply to everyone maybe the next day because I feel like you ruin your entire birthday. You’re either on Instagram or Twitter replying to people. I know it’s important to respond because it’s really sweet that people are taking the time to wish you good things. But I feel like mentally you’re just on social media and staring at your screen rather than living your life and having actual conversations with people around you, creating real moments. I remember there was this one birthday when I was on phone the entire day and I was frustrated by the end of the day. So now I am not going to do that. In case, you guys get my reply like a day later, please don’t mind.”

Deepika Padukone is a sight of grace in a black sheer saree and infinity blouse

Deepika Padukone has certainly come a long way and is without a doubt one of the most adaptable actors that we have in the industry. She has played roles as diverse as the wild and fun-loving Veronica in Cocktail to the elegant Padmavati in Padmavat. She is similarly adaptive when it comes to clothing and expresses herself through a range of international fashions. Even though she enjoys Indian attire, she favours eye-catching gowns and saris. When Deepika wears a saree, she always emanates such grace and never fails to draw attention. After making headlines by being the showstopper at Mijwan 2022, the actress was the Chief Guest of an event organised by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, in association with World Gold Council.

The objective of the celebration was to honour those who had significantly contributed to making a difference, and Deepika Padukone was determined to not to go without winning everybody over. Deepika left us in awe and enchanted in a glittering black sheer saree designed by Faraz Manan. She also wore a matching black infinity blouse with the six yards, exposing her toned midriff. The fashionable and distinctive blouse has a fitted form, a round neckline, full sleeves, and rich sequin accents. Deepika chose minimalist jewellery and a pair of fierce black pointed high heels from the Christian Louboutin collection.

She matched the maximalist details of her saree with delicate dangling earrings and bold rings. Deepika’s concluding glam options were a centre-parted sleek hairstyle, sleek black eyeliner, glossy nude lip colour, delicate eye shadow, flushed cheeks, mascara on the lashes, dewy base, sharp contouring, and dazzling highlighter.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in the direct-to-digital release Gehraiyaan. The actress will next be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham in Sidharth Anand’s directorial Pathaan. Her other projects include Sidharth Anand’s Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor and Nag Ashwin’s Project K with Prabhas, and Amitabh Bachchan.

SCOOP: Aamir Khan and Laal Singh Chaddha team opt for BLOCKBUSTER pricing in India

The countdown for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha has begun as the audience is waiting to welcome Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan on the big screen after 4 long years. The advances for the film have opened at limited centers in India, however, we expect the film to catch up pace in ticket sales closer to the release. But, Bollywood Hungama has an exclusive update for all the readers.

According to exhibition sources, Aamir Khan, Viacom 18, and team Laal Singh Chaddha have gone with blockbuster pricing for their epic tale of the undying human spirit in the national multiplex chains. “Aamir Khan and team feel that Laal Singh Chaddha caters to an elite section of the audience, who wouldn’t mind splurging a little more. They have held on to the film for a theatrical release for a long time due to the pandemic and the only way to recover the added interest burden is by getting added revenue from theaters. The OTT premiere has also been delayed keeping the theatrical experience in mind,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

That’s not all, the source tells us that Aamir has utmost faith that the film will be value for money for his audience. “He strongly believes in the content of the film and believes that the word of mouth will translate into great footfalls in the week full of holidays. It’s a festive period when people step out to watch films. And all festive releases have spiked prices, and Aamir’s competitor, Raksha Bandhan too will be having blockbuster pricing at most national chains. They are also trying to match the pricing on Laal Singh Chaddha across the North and Eastern India market,” the source told us further.

The advances for both, Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha are now open.

Lady Gaga to play Harley Quinn in Todd Phillips’ Joker 2 starring Joaquin Phoenix; film titled Joker: Folie à deux

It’s confirmed! Lady Gaga is joining Joaquin Phoenix in Joker 2, helmed by Todd Phillips. Over a month ago, the actress was in talks to star as Harley Quinn in the movie. Now, a day ago, the actress confirmed the news with animated teaser of the sequel along with the new title, Joker: Folie à deux. In English, the phrase “Folie à deux” translates to “shared psychosis,” and refers to a psychiatric syndrome involving delusions being transmitted between two people.

She took to Twitter on Thursday and wrote, “Joker: Folie à Deux 10.04.24.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “The details on Gaga’s character are being kept under wraps. Joker is known for his on-off abusive relationship with Harley Quinn, his psychiatrist at the mental institution known as Arkham Asylum who falls in love with him and becomes his sidekick and partner in crime”

The sequel is said to be made as a musical. Phoenix starred in the original film portraying Arthur Fleck, a troubled man who evolves into a folk villain type figure by the end of the story. The film ended up winning two Oscars the year it was released, Best Actor of Phoenix’s performance as the eponymous Clown Prince of Crime, and Best Original Score. In all, Joker received 11 Oscar nominations.

Warner Bros. has set October 4, 2024 as the release date for Joker: Folie à deux.
