Salman Khan and Pooja Hedge are all smiles at the airport as they head for Bhaijaan shoot

Actors Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde will be seen together on screen for the first time in Bhaijaan, which was previously titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The two stars began the shoot a few months ago. Now, they were seen at Mumbai’s private airport as they headed to an undisclosed location for the next schedule of the shoot.

At the airport, Salman Khan kept it casual in dark grey T-shirt with denim jeans. Pooja Hegde was all smiles donning a black crop trop and track pants along with a bag.

Salman Khan, in May 2022, kicked off the shoot for Bhaijaan. The film stars him alongside Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Palak Tiwari, and Shehnaaz Gill. He recently roped in  Tajik singer Abdu Rozik.The film will release on December 30, 2022.

Laal Singh Chaddha collects approx. 4.98 cr. at the Australia and New Zealand box office in its opening weekend

The Advait Chandan directed film Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan hit screens on Thursday. In the overseas markets, Laal Singh Chaddha had a moderate start on the opening day. On Day 1, the film collected even lesser than the opening day of Thugs of Hindostan despite more screens. On Day 2, the film showed a growth of 68.23% and 140.36% at the Australia and New Zealand box office respectively. The film continued its momentum on Day 3 showing growth in both territories. In its opening weekend, it collected approximately 626k USD [Rs. 4.98 cr.] combined in both the territories.

Raksha Bandhan Box Office Estimate Day 4: Akshay Kumar starrer fails to capitalize on Sunday; collects Rs. 7.65 crores

Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan failed to show big gains on Sunday as the film collected in the range of Rs. 7.25 to 8.10 crores on its fourth day. With this, the four-day total of Raksha Bandhan stands in the range of Rs. 28.75 crores, which is nothing but a very poor outcome for a holiday release. The collections are around Rs. 10 crores lower than its competitor, Laal Singh Chaddha in India and both the films are loss-making ventures for stakeholders.

Much like its competitor, it’s almost a battle lost for Raksha Bandhan as far as the verdict is concerned and it’s now all about doing some numbers on Monday to comfortably go past the Rs. 55 crore mark in its long run. A drop on Independence Day might make it difficult for Raksha Bandhan to hit the century as that might just indicate a crash on Tuesday. There is a Holiday on account of Parsi New Year on Tuesday, but it’s now a lost battle for the film as it would barely be in the race by then.

Raksha Bandhan is a film catering to the masses and hence, a flat Sunday isn’t a surprise, but a bare minimum 20 percent jump is definitely a sign of rejection from the audience. The movie is headed for a 5-day extended weekend for around Rs. 36 crores.

Raksha Bandhan Overseas Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer crosses USD 470K at the overseas box office on Day 3

The Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan hit screens on Thursday, August 11. Directed by Aanand L Rai the film released alongside the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha. However, despite the competition trade predictions were optimistic that the Akshay Kumar film would fare well.

In the overseas markets, Raksha Bandhan opened on an average note. Released on the auspicious day of Rakshabandhan, Raksha Bandhan has managed to rake in USD 470K [Rs. 3.74 cr.] over its first three days at the overseas box office.

Going by the current, trade estimates predict that the film will see further growth over its first Sunday running. In fact, it will come as no surprise if the business of Raksha Bandhan manages to go past the Rs. 5 cr. mark by the end of its opening weekend in the overseas market.

India business tycoon Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passes away at 62; PM Modi sends his condolence saying, “His passing away is saddening”

Veteran investor and trader, popularly referred to as the ‘Big Bull of Dalal Street’, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away earlier today morning. The ace stock market investor, Jhunjhunwala was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at around 6.45 am after he suffered a cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival by the hospital authorities.

As per reports, Jhunjhunwala who recently launched his own airlines, Akasa Air was apparently suffering from multiple health issues and was discharged from the same hospital a few weeks ago after being treated for kidney-related issues. With an estimated net worth of around USD 5.8 billion, Jhunjhunwala was the 36th richest billionaire in India.

Termed as an investor with a Midas touch, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was also dubbed as ‘India’s Warren Buffett’. Overall, Jhunjhuwala had investments in more than three dozen companies including the likes of Titan, Star Health, Tata Motors and Metro Brands which were also some of his largest holdings. He was also the Chairman of Hungama Media and Aptech.

Sharing his condolence over Jhunjhunwala’s sudden demise Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter saying, “Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about India’s progress. His passing away is saddening. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

Joining the PM was veteran politician and Union Home Minister Amit Shah who also Tweeted, “Anguished to learn about the passing away of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Ji.
