Raksha Bandhan Box Office Estimate Day 8: Dips by 20% to collect Rs. 1 cr; to be out of most cinema halls by today

After falling by 85 percent on Tuesday and 20 percent on Wednesday, Raksha Bandhan saw another dip of 20 percent on Thursday, as according to early estimates, the movie has collected in the range of Rs. 1.0 to 1.1 crores, taking the eight-day total to Rs. 38.3 crores. Raksha Bandhan is headed for a lifetime total of Rs. 45 crores which is disastrous, to say the least.

The film has been rejected by audiences in the cities and the mass belts. The on-ground reports too didn’t seem to favor the film as not once since the date of release did the film clock the double-digit number. The holiday season may push the lifetime numbers of Raksha Bandhan to Rs. 45 crores and if not for the holiday, the total would have been lower than even Bell Bottom, which clocked Rs. 35 crores. The festive season has added some numbers to the film, and if not for the holiday, the outcome would have been even worse.

The film will be out of most of the cinema halls by the second Friday and the rejection is to such an extent that even Dobaara might have more shows than Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha in the coming weekend.

Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video today

Prime Video today launched the action drama Shamshera, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor along with Ronit Bose Roy and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles on the streaming service. Produced under the banner of Yash Raj Films and directed by Karan Malhotra, the film is the fourth title to be premiered on Prime Video from the licensing deal with Yash Raj Films (YRF), following the digital premieres of Bunty Aur Babli 2, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Samrat Prithviraj.

The mass entertainer & action film, Shamshera portrays Ranbir Kapoor in double role – as Shamshera and as his son, Balli. The film circles around the fictitious city of Kaza, a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian Shudh Singh. Shamshera is a legend for his tribe who relentlessly fights for his tribe’s freedom and dignity.

Built on a larger-than-life premise, Shamshera is now available on the service for audiences across the globe. The film is available in Hindi along with Tamil and Telugu language dubs.

The ensemble hugged the actress’s body pretty well and made her look more enchanting to our eyes. Keeping her tresses open with a side partition in soft curls, for the accessories, the actress opted for a few hand bangle bracelets and earrings, keeping it very minimal. Diljit Dosanjh to headline Ali Abbas Zafar’s Jogi set in Delhi in 1984; film to premiere on Netflix on September 16, 2022

Netflix announced today its upcoming soul-stirring entertainer Jogi, starring Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role. The film unravels the story of a resilient friendship and courage in the times of adversity, set in Delhi in 1984. Jogi is a thrilling, emotional journey of the fighting spirit of three unified friends.

Talking about the film, actor Diljit Dosanjh said, “Playing the role of Jogi has been one of the most fulfilling experiences and I am excited for my digital debut on Netflix. Saavi Ki Savaari marks debut of Samridhii Shukla; will play the fictional role of Ujjain’s first auto rickshaw driver

Colors upcoming romantic drama Saavi Ki Savaari chronicles the lives of a self-reliant rickshaw driver Saavi and a self-made, ambitious businessman Nityam. Making her debut on television with the show will be Samridhii Shukla essaying the role of Saavi while popular actor Farman Haider will be seen playing Nityam’s character. Produced by Dashami Creations, Saavi Ki Savaari will premiere on August 22 on Colors channel.

The show aims to break stigmas around gender-labeled professions. Saavi becomes the first female auto rickshaw driver from Ujjain, who enjoys driving and earns her living without feeling any sense of embarrassment about her profession. She is independent, optimistic, and street-and also the sole bread winner of her family. In unexpected circumstances, Saavi meets Nityam, a workaholic businessman who is highly ambitious and temperamental. He is extremely focused on building his business empire and wants to marry a woman who can match up to his intellect and help him achieve his goals.

Manisha Sharma, Chief Content Officer, Viacom18 spoke of the show, saying, “Saavi Ki Savaari brings to life a heartwarming love story of a girl Saavi who is an auto rickshaw driver. Portraying Nityam’s character, Farman Haider says, “Nityam is a suave businessman, who has a charming personality. Saavi Ki Savaari will air from Monday to Saturday at 6.30pm on Colors.

Gippy Grewal says he suggested re-dubbing Aamir Khan’s Punjabi dialogues in Laal Singh Chaddha: ‘They agreed with me, but they didn’t change it’

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is currently seen in theatres in Laal Singh Chaddha. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh, the film has been the talk of the town since it is Hindi adaptation of Hollywood movie, Forrest Gump. The film has not seen good response at the box office. Singer-actor Gippy Grewal praised Aamir Khan for his work but did say the Punjabi accent could have been better.

 

 

“I agree with the fact that Aamir Khan’s Punjabi accent has drawn criticism, and when we were working on the dialogues for the film, we had the correct accent and diction,” Grewal told DNA in an interview, adding, “My team including Rana Ranbir (actor-writer) helped them in penning Punjabi dialogues. But once I saw the rushes of the film, I suggested they should re-dub for getting the right Punjabi. They agreed with me, but they didn’t change it.”

He continued, “Maybe they thought that it was perfect for the character, but there has been a certain disconnect over there.”

He further said, “I liked it very much, Aamir had gone under the skin of his character. He was having the proper look of a Sikh, with a proper turban, and beard. People in Punjab and overseas liked Aamir Khan’s portrayal. As far as I saw, people were clapping, and they narrated the film beautifully.”

Laal Singh Chaddha, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya.
