Sita Ramam starring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Madanna to arrive on Amazon Prime Video on September 9

Prime Video today announced the worldwide digital premiere of the Telugu blockbuster Sita Ramam. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, the poetic romance drama is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and stars Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur, who marks her debut in Telugu films with this hit story. Filled with charming performances and mesmerizing music, Sita Ramam unravels the mysterious love story of Lieutenant Ram, an orphan soldier whose life changes after receiving a letter from Sita. The visually beautiful tale will stream starting September 9, 2022, in Telugu along with Malayalam and Tamil language dubs on the service.

“Playing Sita has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life,” said Mrunal Thakur on her debut Telugu film. “I was mesmerized within minutes of hearing the narration and could not have let this opportunity go. It’s my first film in the South and with the streaming premiere on Prime Video, I can’t wait for more audiences to watch the film and give it the same love that I’ve felt since it was released.”

Sita Ramam was released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam in August 2022, the movie recently released in Hindi on 2nd September in cinemas.

Trailer of Kantara: Rishabh Shetty gets caught in the crossfire between superstition and the supernatural

The makers of KGF and Salaar released the trailer of their next movie titled Kantara  starring Rishab Shetty earlier today, ahead of the film’s release later this month. Going by the visuals, the movie promises to be an intense and exciting drama set against the rural backdrop of sandalwood smuggling.

A source close to the film said, “The background music of Kantara is created keeping in mind that it is expected to bring together a tale of myths, legends and superstition. The lead protagonist, Rishab Shetty is given a menacing look. To add to the character, he is seen sporting a thick moustache and beard.” The trailer takes off with a story of a king who gave a piece of a land to the forest tribes. The great battle and the drama begin when a group of police officers threatens the sheer belief of villagers where their legends claim that a deadly curse will unleash when they are harmed.

Shot across uniquely rugged landscapes and the hinterland of Coastal Karnataka, the story also involves sacred customs and traditions, hidden treasures and generational secrets. It also has an element of local sports and folklore involved in it. “The trailer deeply epitomizes, how mythical and super natural elements can come together to create fear in people’s minds. Its unique pace is to keep the viewer hooked until the mystery surrounding the forest is uncovered. The trailer aims at encapsulating raw fear as each character faces their own demons and also gives a sneak peek into spectacular action sequences. As for the character of Rishabh Shetty, he seems to be fighting a dual battle when he is caught in the crossfire of superstition and the supernatural and reason and practicality on the other hand,” added the source.

Kantara is directed by the lead Rishabh Shetty. Sapthamy Gowda will play the feisty female lead along with Kishore, Pramod Shetty and Achyuth Kumar in pivotal roles. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. The music for the movie has been given by B Ajaneesh, Loknath, and cinematography has been done by Arvind S Kashyap.

Kantara is only being released in the Kannada language in cinemas on September 30 as a Dussehra special release. The makers are considering the option of dubbing the same in other languages as well. For the OTT platforms, the deal hasn’t been disclosed yet.

Chup Trailer: Sunny Deol is on hunt to find serial killer who murders film critics in Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt starrer

R. Balki’s Chup has created quite the buzz across the country. From the mysterious motion picture to having Amitabh Bachchan’s original score in the movie, the film has garnered a lot of curiosity and anticipation amongst fans. The makers released the trailer for the inquisitive audiences on 5th September. Abhishek Bachchan unveiled the trailer earlier today.

Sunny Deol who plays a cop said, “It is a very thrilling story. It was a very interesting shoot for me personally. Balki’s vision for this story was so crystal clear that the film seemed to have its own pace during shooting.”

Dulquer Salmaan added, “I have done different films in my career, however, this one really hits it out of the park in terms of the character and its story. It feels like you’re looking into someone’s inner workings and the character I play is especially unique so it was an altogether new experience for me.”

“I had this idea for the story a long time ago and I don’t know why I took so long to pen it down and get it to the screen. It’s a proper thriller that makes you witness the psyche of an artist and the makings of a murderer. It’s a project I hold dear to my heart and I’m very proud of getting to share it with the world,” said R Balki.

With the star cast including Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, and Pooja Bhatt, the movie is directed by R Balki and Produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios) and Gauri Shinde. The original story is by R Balki, the screenplay and dialogues have been co-written by R Balki, critic-turned-writer Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani.

Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) presents the film and all India distribution is by Pen Marudhar. The Director of Photography is Vishal Sinha and Music Directors are S D Burman, Amit Trivedi, Sneha Khanwalkar and Aman Pant. Lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi, Kaifi Azmi, Swanand Kirkire. “I really miss him and his contribution to 83” – Ranveer Singh misses Balwinder Singh Sandhu after winning Best Actor for 83

Ranveer Singh has had the most remarkable year in cinema as he swept clean the Filmfare Awards for his performance in 83 in which he played the role of Kapil Dev. Widely regarded as one of the best actors in Hindi cinema history, Ranveer says that even today, he wakes up in disbelief that he is an actor who is living his dream!

Ranveer says, “I am just grateful that I get to be an actor and that’s actually enough for me. I have always said that it’s a miracle that I even became an actor. These types of experiences are beyond my wildest imagination. Sometimes, it feels surreal. And that feeling continues till date. Everyday, I wake up in disbelief that this is my life – that I am an actor and I get to do these things and collaborate with these talented filmmakers. And it all adds up to an overwhelming amount of gratitude that I have for the opportunities and blessings that I have.”

After his incredible award run for the film, Ranveer credits his brilliant metamorphosis on the screen to his coach Balwinder Singh Sandhu. He says, “It feels surreal and fulfilling in equal measures. At this moment I’m remembering my coach, Mr. Balwinder Singh Sandhu. I really miss him and his contribution to 83, one really can’t describe in words. He’s the heart of 83! You know when we see the emotion that he has attached to that story of 83, to his teammates, you can’t not work out of a very different place in your being. When we, the cast of 83 saw what it meant to Ballu sir, that is what transmitted to all of us.”

On the work front, Ranveer will be next seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Alia Bhatt.

While Alia Bhatt dismissed the concept of suhaag raat as a myth, recently married Katrina Kaif, shared a smarter solution for tired couples to follow. In the video, Karan Johar asks Katrina Kaif about the suhagraat concept. For unversed, on the first episode of the new season, Karan had asked newlywed Alia Bhatt, who tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor in April, about one myth about the Indian weddings that got busted after she got married. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress said, “There is no such thing as suhagraat, you are tired.” Now, Karan asks the similar question to Katrina Kaif, who married Vicky Kaushal in December 2021. To which, the actress says that one could have ‘suhagdin’. “It does not always have to be a suhagraat. It can also be a suhagdin,” reasoned the superstar.

Ishaan Khatter hints at his break-up with Ananya Panday in the promo whereas Siddhant Chaturvedi confirms that he is very much single.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath, PhoneBhoot is produced by Excel Entertainment, headed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The film is all set to be released on 4th November 2022.
