Though the Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer hits screens on September 9, advance bookings for the film started nearly a week earlier. Not surprisingly, Brahmastra has seen over 2 lakh tickets being sold across PVR cinemas properties in India alone, for its opening weekend. However, it seems like these reports of advance booking can’t impress the lead of the film.
During a press conference in Delhi, Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen playing Shiva in the Ayan Mukerji directorial, was asked about the record-breaking numbers in advance booking. In his response, the actor answered, “We cannot take these figures and all seriously because till the audience doesn’t see the film, the game doesn’t begin. The film is made for the audience. I think on Friday, we will get to know where we are, kitne paani ke andar hain (how well we will fare).”
Kapoor further added, “But the feeling is, of course, positive. We have come as Shah Rukh Khan from Dilwale [Dulhania] Le Jaayenge, asking you, ‘come watch our movie!’ That’s all.” As he continued, Ranbir shared how his wife Alia Bhatt is excited about Brahmastra’s advance booking and keeping the track of reports. Ranbir said, “the most excited is Alia now. She is a trade analyst now. She is noting everything, this much is open here, this is the response there”.
Talking about the film, the ensemble star cast of the film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy along with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The big-budget film will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

Speaking on the same, the Saand Ki Aankh actress said, “I have recently worked on Afwaah, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui sir and is directed by Sudhir Mishra. It is such a wonderful project. It is actually my fourth film this year. I have already finished Lady Killer and Bhakshak.” to Hindustan Times. She then added, “My year started with a bang with Badhaai Do. The second half of the year is going to be super packed. I have back-to-back shooting schedules as I start shooting for two new projects”.
As her conversation progressed forward, the Bala actress added, “I feel me-time is extremely important. This year, I have not had a lot of me-time. It is also kind of like the revenge work that I’m doing for the time that we lost in COVID. I’ve not had a lot of me-time and I miss it. But I’m such a workaholic.”
As the Lust Stories actress continued, she asserted, “I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that I have that I don’t feel like slowing down at the moment. When naturally my body will tell me, that okay, slow down a little. I think I will only then slow down. But at the moment, I’m on a high. I’m having a blast.”
Along with Lady Killer and Afwaah, the 33-year-old actress also has a bunch of films in her kitty; Bhakshak, Govinda Naam Mera, and Bheed are the name to a few.

Continuing being in form, Virat Kohli hit his first T20I century in yesterday’s match against Afghanistan. Post the match, Anushka Sharma took to her verified social media handle and celebrated Virat’s century with a short, sweet note.
Interestingly, the Zero actress posted a series of photos, featuring Virat’s glimpses from the match. In the caption, the actress made a promise as she wrote, “Forever with you through any and everything”, along with a red heart and an infinity emoticon. Kohli was quick to react to her post as he dropped red hearts in the comments section. Apart from him, many from Sharma’s following list flooded the comments section with reactions; Varun Dhawan, Jaideep Allawat, Sonali Bendre, and Athiya Shetty are the name of a few.

The 33-year-old former captain of the Indian cricket team helped India register a huge 212/2 in their 20 overs during their most recent Super Four match against Afghanistan. He scored 122 runs off 61 balls which had six sixes and 12 boundaries. Post the match, Kohli dedicated the 71st century to Anushka Sharma and their daughter Vamika.
He said, “It [the century] was worth 1000 words, I am blessed and grateful right now – the last 2 and half years have taught me a lot – this November I will turn 34 so the celebrations are of the past. At this celebration, there were a lot of things put into perspective. I was shocked [with the 100] because this is the format I least expected to get a 100,” he told the host broadcaster.

The posters that were released a day ago, have already garnered ample curiosity and the recently released trailer has only further amped up the intrigue factor. The film also features Rakul Preet Singh in a pivotal role.
Rakul Preet Singh had described in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama that her forthcoming film will be something like where “Munnabhai meets Oh My God”. The trailer of Thank God is a social comedy that questions some important concepts of life, related to good karma and bad karma, and what qualifies as sins and virtues, among others. Besides that, fans are also in for a treat, as they will see Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn in roles that they have never played before.
The trailer releases on the same day as Brahmastra hit the theatres. However, it is yet to be known if the makers will screen it alongside the film in theatres. “It’s not clear yet whether Thank God’s trailer will be shown in the theatres on September 9,” said a source to Bollywood Hungama.
Interestingly, the makers are releasing the trailer of the film a month ago before the release date. “They decided to unveil the trailer more than a month before the film’s release. The promo will give the audiences an idea about the film and would leave them wanting for more,” added the source.
Thank God is directed by Indra Kumar of Dhamaal fame. Indra Kumar’s Maruti International along with T-Series, Soham Rockstar, and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures has produced the film. It’ll be released in cinemas on October 25 and will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu.
