First poster out! Urmila Matondkar to make her digital debut with the web series ‘Tiwari’

Actress Urmila Matondkar is known for her superlative performances in films like Satya, Ek Haseena Thi, Bhoot, Rangeela, Kaun and Pinjar to name a few. Now, she is all set to make a grand comeback with her digital debut in a thriller titled ‘Tiwari’ directed by Saurabh Varma, and produced by Content Engineers. The actress will play the titular role in the upcoming web series set in a small town and has an emotional mother-daughter story at the core of it.

The makers released a poster today and Urmila’s transformation will surely leave her fans intrigued.  The thriller has the actress doing gritty action for which she has been training rigorously for the last six months. Urmila will be seen in a completely different avatar in the show. With Urmila’s pre-existing vast and varied body of work, this surely becomes a comeback that is eagerly awaited.

Talking about the show, the actress says, “This one offered me characters and a story arc that is challenging as a performer and things that I haven’t attempted so far. Written and created by a team of young writers, the team managed to keep me hooked till the end while narrating it. What I liked the most in the story is that at the core, it’s an emotional mother-daughter story but at the same time it has everything from drama to action to some thrilling twists and turns. I can’t wait to start shooting.”

Meanwhile, filmmaker Saurabh Varma says, “The kind of varied graph Tiwari aka Urmila’s character has in the show, we really couldn’t think of anyone else but Urmila. As a filmmaker and as a studio, we intend to create clean entertaining content that can be watched with the whole family, globally. Tiwari is something that has been loved as a script by all age groups and fits the bill in totality.”

On the other hand, Utpaal Acharya, CEO of Content Engineers, says, “As a studio, our focus is totally on content and knowing the repertoire of Urmila, we surely wanted her to associate with something new for her as well as her fans. It’s amazing to see her so committed to the craft even after all these years.”

The show produced by Dr Raj Kishor Khaware and Utpaal Acharya, is presently under pre-production.

Watch: Hrithik Roshan finally cuts ties with his character Vedha: “Learnt to be at peace with my failings”

Bollywood’s latest release Vikram Vedha has created a lot of noise. Though it is a remake of a Tamil film, the neo-noir has managed to bag a positive response from the audience as well as critics. While the film is impressing moviegoers, Hrithik Roshan has finally cut ties with his character Vedha.

Taking to his verified social media handle, Roshan shared a video on Monday, October 3. In the video, a nervous Hrithik can be seen cutting a black thread tied on his wrist. In the caption of his video post on Instagram, the actor wrote, “Time to let go.” The write-up further added, “I don’t know exactly when I started doing this. Or even why. But I realized today that i’v secretly done this for every character that terrified me.”

The Krrish actor continued, “Mostly it’s a red mauli ( kabir wore that) and sometimes it’s a black thread. / Can’t even remember when I started this. Was it kaho na pyaar hai ? Or koi mil gaya or much later ? (Wil have to go back and check my wrists or neck in those films) cause it’s never planned. Vedha got it at dress rehearsals n became it. Kabir got it at the War mahurat pooja and i made it a part of him.”

Elaborating on the same, the Super 30 actor mentioned, “I think I do it cause it physically anchors the commitment I make to myself before I begin. A secret pact between me and myself. / The ritual of cutting it is always confusing. For vedha I tried once my shoot got over but couldn’t , then when my dub got over , but again couldn’t. And then I finally did when the question I ask myself had a satisfactory answer – “Did I give this everything I had?” “Can I do more ?” – it’s a question that scares me , drives me , n keeps me searching for more.”

Speaking about his character in the Pushkar Gayathri directorial, Hrithik penned, “Vedha has been a terrific journey. Thru him I learnt to be. At peace with my failings. Unafraid and unapologetic.” He also expressed his gratitude to the makers of Vikram Vedha, Pushkar and Gayatri.

Talking about the film, the Hrithik Roshan starrer also features Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte. The action-thriller was released on September 30. The film is jointly produced by YNOT Studios, Friday Filmworks, T-Series Films, and Reliance Entertainment.

‘Religious’ Kangana Ranaut bids on Ram Janam Bhoomi at the PM Mementos Auction in Delhi; shares pictures from visit

The ministry of culture organised a 16-day e-auction of prestigious and memorable gifts presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he celebrated his 72nd birthday. As the e-auction concluded on October 2, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut also participated in the e-auction and bid for two items related to Ram Janam Bhumi. The actress took to her verified social media handle and shared the inside pictures from her visit.

The caption of the Manikarnika actress’s multiple-picture post on Instagram read, “Today I had the good fortune of visiting the auction of Honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi ji’s memorable gifts/ mementos that were presented to him at special occasions.”

The Queen actress further added, “I bidded for Ram janm bhumi mitti and Ram Mandir design … what did you bid for ? It’s proceeds will go for Namammi Gange project … let’s do this.” In the images, an elated Kangana salutes and beholds her bid items. Many from her 9.5M followers showered love on the post and dropped red-heart emoticons in the comments section.

Later, the Fashion actress also spoke about the same with ANI. She said, “As I am a religious person, so I placed my bid on Ram janam bhumi. It’s model of the Ram mandir because I always used to think about how design will be. As it was available here so I placed my bid on it.

Coming to her professional front, the 35-year-old actress was last seen in Dhaakad. The action-thriller, released in May this year, performed poorly at the box office. Now, she is gearing up for her next project titled Emergency. In the forthcoming film, she will be seen essaying the role of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Singer Alfaaz Singh suffers injuries after being attacked at Mohali; Yo Yo Honey Singh informs he is “out of danger”

Famous Punjabi singer Amanjot Singh Panwar aka Alfaaz Singh suffered injuries on Banur-Landran road on Saturday night. As the injured singer is hospitalised, singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh took to his verified social media handle and shared an update regarding the former’s health. In a note-post on the story section of his Instagram, Honey thanked Mohali police while stating that Alfaaz is “out of danger”.

In his story, the ‘Brown Rang’ singer wrote, “Special thnx to mohali police who caught the culprit who hit alfaaz with a tempo traveller on road lastnite @itsaslialfaaz is now out of danger too.” Hours before sharing the update, Honey posted an image on his media feed, which featured injured Alfaaz Singh hospitalised.

“My brother @itsaslialfaaz has been attacked last night, Whoever planned this Mother F***** I won’t let u go !! Take my words !! Everyone pls pray for him.” However, he deleted the post after a few hours. On the other hand, The Tribune India reported further details of the incident.

As per the report, the Punjab Police has booked an accused named Vicky for hitting Amanjot Singh Panwar, “after an altercation between the singer, the eatery owner, and the suspect over money matters on Landran-Banur Road in Mohali.” The case has been registered under sections 279, 337, and 338 of the IPC. The singer is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Meet Devdatta Gajanan Nage, the actor who plays Lord Hanuman in Adipurush

The much awaited teaser of Adipurush is finally out and as expected, has become a talking point on the internet, be it for the VFX, scale or actors. While most moviegoers are discussing about the look and performances of Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, many are wondering about the actor who is playing Lord Hanuman. Bollywood Hungama in this feature article will shed light on this aspect in this article.

The name of the actor is Devdatta Gajanan Nage. He has worked predominantly in Marathi serials and movies. He was loved in the role of Lord Khandoba in the popular TV serial, ‘Jai Malhar’. His other TV serials are ‘Veer Shivaji’, ‘Devyani’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, etc.

Interestingly, Adipurush is directed by Om Raut, whose last directorial was Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), based on the life of Tanaji Malusare. And in ‘Veer Shivaji’, Devdatta Gajanan Nage played the role of Tanaji. And that’s not all. Devdatta was also seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, as Suryaji Malusare. The other Hindi films in which he has worked are Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara (2013) and Satyameva Jayate (2018).

In an interview to a website earlier this year, Devdatta Gajanan Nage shared brief details about working with Adipurush. He said that he has a special connection with Lord Hanuman and that the first gym where he started working out at the age of 17 was named Hanuman Vyayam Shala.

Devdatta Gajanan Nage further said that his physique played an important role in getting the coveted role. He also assured that he has essayed the part with a lot of devotion.

The actor further said that he was comfortable working with Saif Ali Khan in Adipurush since he had worked with him in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. He also said that he became great friends with Prabhas, Sunny Singh and Kriti Sanon during the shoot of Adipurush.

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are love struck in intimate mehendi and sangeet ceremonies in Lucknow, see photos

Following several years of courtship, Fukrey actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal tied the knot and hosted a few intimate ceremonies in Delhi and Lucknow. The actors are in Lucknow to celebrate another intimate celebration and party being hosted to celebrate their union. The couple has been sharing moments from the celebrations on social media.

Their mehendi and sangeet were characterised by their love for nature with the decor being inspired by nature with a lot of natural elements like florals, jute, wood etc. The couple did a fun “phoolon ki holi” as their friends and family showered them in a customary way.

This was followed by mehendi for Richa and her friends in a colourful set-up. The evening was followed by performances by their friends and cousins.

Richa’s best friend from childhood did a fun surprise performance for the couple, while her brother sang her a song and did a Bhangra performance too.

The couple then danced to two songs including their popular song from Fukrey, ‘Ambersariya’.

Earlier this week, they shared an audio note ahead of their wedding celebrations. However, in the voice clip, they shared that they had formalised their union in 2020. Ali and Richa took to their Instagram accounts, where they shared the voice note along with a throwback picture featuring the two. In the audio note, Richa is heard saying, “Two years ago we formalised our union and just then the pandemic hit us all, pressing a pause button on our celebrations and life.”

Ali said, “Like the rest of the nation, we too were struck by personal tragedies one after the other. And now, as we all enjoy this window of respite, we are finally celebrating with our families and friends and are so very touched and grateful for all the blessings that are coming our way. We offer you nothing but our love. Thank you.”

For unversed, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who have been dating for a really long time, were originally meant to be wedded in April 2020, but owing to COVID-19 restrictions, the wedding was positioned twice. The two reportedly met on the sets of Fukrey in 2012 for the first time. The two will soon be seen sharing screen once again in the third instalment of the Fukrey franchise.
