Adipurush director Om Raut breaks silence on Saif Ali Khan’s Lankesh look being compared to Khilji; says, ‘Our Ravan in today’s time is demonic’

As soon as the teaser of the Om Raut directorial Adipurush dropped, it received a mixed response. Meanwhile, a section of netizens trolled the look of Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. Now, director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir have finally broken their silence.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, the director-writer duo addressed the criticism. Raut explained, “Our Ravan in today’s time is demonic, he is cruel. The one who has abducted our Goddess Sita is cruel. We have shown what Raavan look like in today’s time. This is not a film or a project for us. This is a mission for us.”

Om then went on to elaborate and asserted, “Our film is a symbol of our devotion and we need everyone’s blessings for this. Whosoever is speaking about the film are our elders. I am listening to all of them and taking note of everything. When you will watch the film in January 2023, I will not disappoint anyone.”

Muntashir added that people have only watched a 1 minute and 35 seconds-long teaser in which Saif’s Ravan is seen with a tripund (three horizontal lines on the forehead in the form of a tilak). He continued, “I want to ask which Khilji sports a tilak or a tripund? Which Khilji wears a janeu (holy thread) and rudraksh? Our Ravan sports all of these in the tiny teaser.”

The mythological film based on Ramayana is slated to release on January 12 next year. While Khan will essay Lankesh, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon will be seen as Ram and Sita.

Abhishek Bachchan and Nikkhil Advani to collaborate for a drama film: Report

After his last big screen release, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has won the audience’s hearts with his four back-to-back OTT projects. As the actor was more visible on the screen in the past two years, his fans are eager to know everything about his upcoming projects. Well, here is some news for them!

Abhishek Bachchan is in advanced talks with Nikkhil Advani’s production house, Emmay Entertainment, for a drama. Mid-Day recently shared a report, in which the publication spilled some beans about his upcoming collaboration. Quoting a source, the report stated, “Abhishek has been choosy in his second innings as an actor, and it has paid off with Manmarziyaan [2018], Ludo [2020] and Breathe: Into the Shadows earning him praise.”

It further added, “He has liked the script, but has yet to sign on the dotted line. The film will see Nikkhil serve as a producer, with one of the studio’s directors going behind the camera. If all goes as planned, the team will kick off a start-to-finish schedule in Bhopal by the month-end.” The upcoming film is said to revolve around an unusual bond that Bachchan’s character develops with a kid.

However, it is worth highlighting that neither the actor nor the filmmaker has given any confirmation to the report yet.

Talking about Jr Bachchan’s professional front, the 46-year-old actor will be next seen in the third instalment of Prime Video’s popular series, Breathe: Into the Shadows. While R Madhvan played the lead in the first season, the second season introduced a new story with Abhishek in the lead along with Nithya Menen. Along with this web series, he also has a bunch of projects in his kitty, including Ghoomer.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10: Madhuri Dixit dances on ‘Chane Ke Khet Mein’ with Kili Paul; watch

After Bigg Boss season 16, internet sensation Kili Paul is all set to grace the stage of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The channel treats the audience and fans with short videos and promos from the upcoming episode. In one of the recently shared videos on the verified social media page of the channel, Kili Paul can be seen grooving with judge Madhuri Dixit. 

For the unversed, Kili Paul is a Tanzania-based content creator. He garnered massive popularity on social media platforms, particularly TikTok and Instagram, for dancing on hit Bollywood numbers in his own unique style. In the video, shared on Colors’ Instagram, judge Madhuri Dixit says, “I would like to dance with you”. 

Later, the veteran actress and Kili groove on the former’s popular song ‘Chane Ke Khet Mein’. Though Paul can be seen as a bit nervous to share the stage with the legend, he performs the hook step of the song. Later, he also flaunts his killer dance moves. The caption of the video read, “Kili apne swag se karne wale hai Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa par sabko pehle hi din par super impress!”

The promo of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 10 has managed to garner love from Instagrammers. While a user wrote, “That’s our boy presenting Tanzania”, another added, “That was sooo amazing….I can’t wait for the ep.” This episode will be telecasted on Saturday-Sunday, which is October 8 and 9, at 8 PM.

Talking about Dixit, on the professional front, the 55-year-old actress is making headlines for her second web project, Maja Ma. Produced under the banner of Dharma, the family drama was released on Prime Video on October 6. The ensemble star cast of the film also features Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, and Srishti Shrivastava.

The Idol: The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp get involved in Hollywood’s sleaziest love story in raunchy new teaser; BLACKPINK’s Jennie makes an appearance

The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp starrer The Idol’s third teaser is here and it is Hollywood’s ‘sleaziest love story’, and it only gets raunchier. Co-created by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, The Weeknd has co-written the project. The third teaser gives a glimpse into the life of struggling pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) and her relationship with self-help guru Tedros (The Weeknd). The teaser also shows more of BLACKPINK’s musician Jennie, who makes her international acting debut.

In the teaser, Lily-Rose Depp is a struggling pop star, who grabs the attention of cult leader and self-help guru Tedros while she is partying at a club. You see she and BLACKPINK’s Jennie avoid paparazzi in one of the scenes. While Jennie’s character is unknown yet, Jocelyn and Tedros form a toxic and sleazy relationship. “I’m worried she’s having another psychotic break,” Eli Roth quips says in the new teaser.

Lily-Rose Depp and Jennie seem to be close pals in the teaser before the latter receives a contract that may change the game for her. In the video, Tedros says, “Los Angeles is where all of the monsters of the world come to gather. Trust no one.”

Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey and Hank Azaria are slated to appear in the show.

The Idol was first announced last June when it was reported that HBO was developing a show which features The Weeknd as co-writer and executive producer, along with his producing partner Reza Fahim and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. Kevin Turen, Aaron Gilbert for Bron, Ashley Levinson, Nick Hall, Sara E. White and A24 also serve as executive producers. Set in the world of the music industry in Los Angeles, the drama follows a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop singer. In November, HBO ordered The Idol to series.

Joe Epstein was tapped as the showrunner, with executive producer Amy Seimetz who has directed all six episodes. Epstein and Seimetz are also attached to executive produce. The series is set to premiere in 2023.

EXCLUSIVE: This is why Kriti Sanon has been mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’ in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Goodbye

The slice-of-life film Goodbye released on October 7. The press show for the media was held three days before release, as the makers were confident about the product. During the screening, mediapersons were surprised to see that Kriti Sanon was mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’ in the opening slate. It made many journalists curious since Kriti Sanon is not a part of the film’s cast.

Bollywood Hungama spoke to the film’s director Vikas Bahl exclusively to find out the reason. To which Vikas Bahl replied, “Kriti called me one day and remarked that mostly, my titles have had English words. Hence, she suggested that the film I am making should be titled Goodbye. In a jiffy, I realized that the title is absolutely bang-on. I told Mr Amitabh Bachchan about it. He also agreed that it’s an apt title. This is how we locked in the title Goodbye is precisely five minutes!”

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Kriti Sanon at some point was considered for Goodbye, for the role that was played by Rashmika Mandanna. Later, she bagged Ganapath, which is also directed by Vikas Bahl. So, she must have read the script and knew what the film is all about. This is how she was able to give the suggestion for the title to the makers.”

As per reports, at the very initial stages, the makers were considering naming the film Deadly. Later, Goodbye was finalized, courtesy Kriti Sanon.

Besides Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna, Goodbye also stars Neena Gupta, Pavail Gulati, Sunil Grover and Sahil Mehta. Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Saraswati Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Viraj Sawant and Vikas Bahl, it tells the story of an old-aged man whose beloved wife suddenly passes away. How he mends bridges with his children, with whom he doesn’t see eye-to-eye, forms the crux of the film. Interestingly, Goodbye has been released in Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday week. The mega star’s birthday falls on Tuesday, October 11.

Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon is gearing up for the release of the creature comedy, Bhediya, co-starring Varun Dhawan. It’ll be released on November 25, while her fantasy epic adventure Adipurush is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on January 12, 2023. Her other releases include Kartik Aaryan co-starrer Shehzada and Ganapath, co-featuring Tiger Shroff.
