BREAKING: As part of Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday celebrations, the tickets for Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Goodbye to be sold for JUST Rs. 80 on October 11

The National Cinema Day has made the industry realize that cheaper ticket rates can pull audiences to cinema halls in hordes. It was celebrated on September 23 and tickets were sold for just Rs. 75. It resulted in house full shows not just for big-ticket films like Brahmastra but even for small films like Chup and Dhokha Round D Corner. The offer was then extended to weekdays. Recently, the tickets for the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Goodbye were sold for just Rs. 150 on its release day, that is, Friday, October 7.

And now, the makers have come up with another exciting offer. On Tuesday, October 11, viewers will be able to watch Goodbye for just Rs. 80! A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Since the film’s lead, Amitabh Bachchan, turns 80 on Tuesday, the makers felt that it’ll be a great idea to sell tickets for Rs. 80 on this day. They spoke to the multiplex chains and they also felt it was a great idea. They readily came on board. The advance booking has already begun for the 11th.”

The source continued, “There’ll be a lot of noise on October 11; after all, the mahanayak is turning 80. The makers plan to promote this exciting offer and are confident that it’ll result in huge footfalls. They are expecting that several viewers will come to the cinema halls to take advantage of cheaper ticket prices.”

According to the source, as of now, PVR Cinemas, Inox, Cinepolis, Miraj, Mukta etc are already on board. “The other multiplex chains, standalone cinemas and single-screens too are expected to sell tickets of Goodbye for Rs. 80 on October 11,” revealed the source.

Meanwhile, a film festival named ‘Bachchan Back To The Beginning’ is going on at PVR Cinemas. It is organized by the Film Heritage Foundation from October 8 to 11 in 17 cities. As part of this film festival, classic films of Amitabh Bachchan like Don, Kaala Patthar, Kaalia, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony etc are being shown on the big screen. While tickets on October 8, 9 and 10 are available for Rs. 150, on the 11th, the tickets will be sold for just Rs. 80.

Manoj Bajpayee to play the lead in Zee Studios’ courtroom drama

Three-time National Film Awardee, Manoj Bajpayee has been roped in to play the lead in an untitled courtroom drama, backed by Vinod Bhanushali’s Bhanushali Studios Limited, Suparn S Varma and Zee Studios. It is expected to revolve around a hard-hitting subject and marks the debut of director Apoorv Singh Karki in Hindi films who has helmed popular OTT shows like Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd, and Flames, among others. The film brings back Suparn S Varma and Manoj Bajpayee together after their award-winning series ‘The Family Man’. Besides Bajpayee, the film is also expected to feature an ensemble cast.

Speaking about the film, Manoj Bajpayee said, “When Vinod Bhanushali & Suparn S Varma told me about the story, I was fascinated and immediately agreed to be a part of this beautiful script. The courtroom drama will enthrall and Apoorv Karki is going to create something that will intrigue the audience. We are excited as we start shoot today. I am sure this film is something people will remember for a really long time.”

Talking about choosing this film as his debut in Hindi cinema, director Apoorv Singh Karki shared, “This film has everything on point that attracted me towards it – a good story, solid cast, strong producers backing it. The script demanded a calm and assertive actor like Manoj Sir to lead the film and we are glad to have him on board. This is definitely an unmissable opportunity for me.”

Producer Vinod Bhanushali added, “Whenever Manoj Bajpayee comes on-screen, he makes you believe in the story, the character he portrays, and makes you notice every little nuance. He was always our only choice for this character. In this film, I get to work with friends Suparn S Varma and Shariq Patel at Zee Studios as well as experience a young talent like Apoorv Singh Karki.”

Suparn S Varma revealed, “This courtroom drama will entertain and inspire audiences. Working with Manoj Bajpayee has been the greatest of experiences, the depth and passion he brings to this role is going to leave you mesmerized. Vinod, Apoorv, and I with Zee Studios are proud to present you this story that will have you discussing it for days.”

Talking about backing the film, Shariq Patel, CBO at Zee Studios, concluded, “Zee Studios is committed to exploring newer entertainment realms and always pushing the envelope. The film is an enticing courtroom drama and will showcase Manoj Bajpayee in a never-seen-before character.”

A Zee Studios and Bhanushali Studios Limited presentation, Suparn S Varma’s courtroom drama directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Asif Sheikh & Vishal Gurnani and co-produced by Juhi Parekh Mehta. While the filming begins on October 9, the makers are looking at a 2023 release.

Ranveer Singh teaches ‘Tattad Tattad’ to NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo and their dance video is going viral

From audiences on the big screen to his followers on social media, Ranveer Singh has been winning hearts with the entertainment quotient. The actor was recently trending across platforms, courtesy of his dance video with Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek basketball player was seen grooving to one of the actor’s most popular songs from his film Goliyon Ki Raasleela, Ram Leela. A video of Ranveer teaching dance to Giannis has started to go viral and even the actor’s industry friends like Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor also commented on the video.

In a recent video shared by Ranveer Singh, the actor and Giannis Antetokounmpo were seen doing some Bollywood-style dancing. The actor was seen teaching the basketball player the moves of his popular dancing track ‘Tattad Tattad’ from his film Goliyon Ki Raasleela, Ram Leela. The track is his introduction song in the film which was also his movie with his wife Deepika Padukone that released in 2013. Interestingly, Giannis was not only enjoying the performance but was also seen acing the dance moves with Singh.

Ranveer Singh posted the video on his Instagram handle saying, “The Greek Freak gettin’ his Tattad Tattad on! @giannis_an34 ?????? @nba @nbaindia @nbastyle_in @nbaeurope @nbaarabic.” Followed by the post, many of his industry friends like Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and photographer Rohan Shrestha took to the platform to drop their comments. “Ohhhh sheeee bro????” said  Tiger whereas Arjun commented, “Desi freak”. “HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS,” said Rohan, and Abhimanyu Dassani too dropped a comment, “Hhahahahaha what a guy!!!” Interestingly, the post was also appreciated by NBA India who added, “Just the Collab we needed”.

SS Rajamouli explains the difference between Hinduism religion and Hinduism the dharma; says, “If you take the religion, I am also not a Hindu”

With films like RRR and Baahubali turning into record-breaking successes, SS Rajamouli has become one of the most sought-after global filmmakers. His recent Ram Charan, Junior NTR starrer even won over American celebrities who have showcased their love for the period drama. Post such massive successes, the filmmaker also received an honour at the Beyond Fest held in Los Angeles as the festival is hosting a retrospective of his films. While attending the same, the filmmaker spoke about the difference between the Hindu religion and Hindu Dharma and explained how Hinduism is actually a way of life.

During the festival, SS Rajamouli explained in detail about how it is not the religion but it is principles of Hinduism that hold importance. He further went on to say that he may not be a Hindu by religion but he is an ardent follower of the Hindu ‘dharma’. He said, “Many people think Hinduism is a religion, it is in the present context. But before Hinduism the religion, there existed Hinduism the dharma. It is a way of life, it is a philosophy. If you take the religion, I am also not a Hindu, but if you take the dharma, I am very much a Hindu. What I am portraying in the film is actually a way of life that has existed for many, many centuries and eons.”

The RRR filmmaker elaborated on the concept, clarifying that he does follow the ‘dharma’ aka principles of the Hindu philosophy. He also explained how Bhagavad Gita is not just a religious text but it is actually a way of life that people can adapt. “You can look at it as something that Lord Krishna has told Arjuna, so it is a Hindu religion verse, but if you look at the meaning of it, it has been taught to Indians irrespective of caste and where they were born. It’s about how to look at life, and not look at the result of what you do. That is what Hindu dharma says. So, I am a follower of Hindu dharma,” he shared.

Sita Ramam [Hindi] Box Office: Film collects Rs. 8.19 cr. at the close of Week 5

The Rashmika Mandanna – Dulquer Salmaan – Mrunal Thakur starrer Sita Ramam was released five weeks ago. The Telugu film, which is said to be a period drama received positive reviews and even opened on a decent note. However, the Hindi version of the film which saw a limited release seems to have suffered considerably at the box office.

In this box office report, we look at the collections of Sita Ramam at the close of its fifth week running. As expected, the Hindi dubbed version of Sita Ramam saw sharp decline in business with each passing week. After raking in Rs. 3.25 cr. in its first week, the business of the film saw a 56% decline in collections in week two with Rs. 1.43 cr. coming in. Following this, the business of Sita Ramam saw further decline of 57.53% in its third week as compared to Week 1. However, in its fourth week running the business of the Rashmika Mandanna – Dilquer Salmaan starrer saw an increase in business with Rs. 1.55 cr. being recorded. But, in its fifth week, the business saw a massive drop with just Rs. 58 lakhs coming in. With this the total collections of Sita Ramam (Hindi) at the close of its fifth week stand at Rs. 8.19 cr.

Going further the business of the film is unlikely to see much change, with trade predicting that though Sita Ramam might find takers in select locations the business will be too low to have an impact on overall collections.

Adipurush director Om Raut breaks silence on Saif Ali Khan’s Lankesh look being compared to Khilji; says, ‘Our Ravan in today’s time is demonic’

As soon as the teaser of the Om Raut directorial Adipurush dropped, it received a mixed response. Meanwhile, a section of netizens trolled the look of Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. Now, director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir have finally broken their silence.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, the director-writer duo addressed the criticism. Raut explained, “Our Ravan in today’s time is demonic, he is cruel. The one who has abducted our Goddess Sita is cruel. We have shown what Raavan look like in today’s time. This is not a film or a project for us. This is a mission for us.”

Om then went on to elaborate and asserted, “Our film is a symbol of our devotion and we need everyone’s blessings for this. Whosoever is speaking about the film are our elders. I am listening to all of them and taking note of everything. When you will watch the film in January 2023, I will not disappoint anyone.”

Muntashir added that people have only watched a 1 minute and 35 seconds-long teaser in which Saif’s Ravan is seen with a tripund (three horizontal lines on the forehead in the form of a tilak). He continued, “I want to ask which Khilji sports a tilak or a tripund? Which Khilji wears a janeu (holy thread) and rudraksh? Our Ravan sports all of these in the tiny teaser.”

The mythological film based on Ramayana is slated to release on January 12 next year. While Khan will essay Lankesh, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon will be seen as Ram and Sita.
