Uunchai Trailer Launch: Salman Khan wanted to be a part of the film but Sooraj Barjatya said ‘No’

After back-to-back character posters that introduced Uunchai’s star cast, the trailer was unveiled on Tuesday, October 18.  Directed by Sooraj R. At the trailer launch, Barjatya revealed that Salman Khan wanted to be a part of the film.

Uunchai Trailer Launch: Salman Khan wanted to be a part of the film but Sooraj Barjatya said 'No'

“When I was making this, Salman asked me, ‘Sooraj what are you making?’ then, ‘Why are you going to the hills?’ Then he also told me, ‘I can do this film!’ I said no! Because we all know he can climb mountains. But I needed people who can look as if they can’t,” the filmmaker said at the trailer launch on Tuesday.

Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan’s relationship go way back as Khan debuted as a lead actor in Rajshri Productions’ Maine Pyar Kiya. He went onto star in Hum Aapke Hai Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hai and Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo.

Talking about moving away from his lavish family-centric films, Sooraj Barjatya said, “Honestly speaking, this is the first time I’m making a film like this. In 2016, writer Sunil told me the film’s subject was about four friends, all 65 plus. It was a humorous story about their mission to trek to the Everest base camp. He called it death, but when I heard it, I found it like life. The subject didn’t leave me. In the pandemic, when we were going through our challenges, I decided to take my biggest challenge. If you see the trailer, there’s no marriage, no functions. I tried to put temples though.”

The backbone of Uunchai’s story is friendship. It is a film that promises to celebrate emotion, relationships and age, Uunchai is headlined by Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Sarika, Neena Gupta and Parineeti Chopra, with special performances by Danny Denzongpa and Nafisa Ali Sodhi. Uunchai is slated to be released on November 11, 2022.

Amidst reports of ill health, Prabhas signs new Telugu film featuring three female leads

Amidst rumours of health issues particularly a chronic knee ailment, Prabhas has gone and done the unexpected. He has signed a new Telugu film, which starts shooting from Monday October 17. The untitled film is being directed by Maruthi Dasari whose films Ee Rojullo, Pakka Commercial and Bus Stop have been huge successes at the box office.

Why has Prabhas decided to take on more work at this stage of his career when his other pending projects Salaar and Project K need his serious attention? A source from Hyderabad informs, “Prabhas wanted a change of pace in his career. He is getting a little exhausted with all the epic projects, which take years to complete. The Harry Potter series of films that were released over two decades ago has developed a cult following of its own. In fact, films and books have given rise to the Potterverse that features everything related to Harry Potter and the wizarding world. Earlier this year, HBO Max featured a reunion special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which saw the entire cast and crew of the film series in attendance. Unfortunately, a few days back, the shocking news of the demise of Robbie Coltrane who portrayed the character of Hagrid stunned everyone.

While the industry was left in shocked silence, Robbie’s co-stars from the Harry Potter series took to social media to share their grief about the actor’s demise. Detailing what shooting was like with Robbie, Daniel Radcliffe shared some images from the sets of the film adding, “Robbie was one of the funniest people I’ve met and used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set, I’ve especially fond memories of him keeping our spirits up on ‘Prisoner of Azkaban,’ when we were all hiding from the torrential rain for hours in Hagrid’s hut and he was telling stories and cracking jokes to keep morale up. I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he’s passed. He was an incredible actor and a lovely man.”

Also sharing her experience of working with Robbie, Emma Watson who shot into the limelight with her portrayal of Hermoine shared an Instagram story that read, “Robbie was like the most fun uncle I’ve ever had, but most of all, he was deeply caring and compassionate towards me as a child and an adult. His talent was so immense that it made sense he played a giant — he could fill ANY space with his brilliance. Robbie, if I ever get to be so kind as you were to me on a film set I promise I’ll do it in your name and memory. Know how much I adore and admire you. I’ll really miss your sweetness, your nicknames, your warmth, your laughs, and your hugs. You made us a family. Know you were that to us. There was no better Hagrid. You made it a joy to be Hermoine.”

Joining Daniel and Emma was Rupert Grint, who essayed the role of Ron Weasley. Sharing an image of Robbie in his Hagrid avatar from the sets of the film, Grint added, “Heartbroken to hear that Robbie is gone. I’ll never forget the smell of cigars and beard glue- a wonderful combination. No one else on this planet could of played Hagrid, only Robbie. Just as Hagrid was in the books and films Robbie was in life- warm, compassionate and hilarious. A giant hearted man who was still looking out for us even decades later. Sending love to his family. See you on the other side Bobser.”

Love you mate – thank you for everything xx”
