EXCLUSIVE: Janhvi Kapoor reveals that she can’t sleep without hearing the word ‘action’

Janhvi Kapoor had to shoot in extreme conditions and it was not a cakewalk for her to play the leading role in the survival drama Mili. The film showcases the journey of a girl who works as a waiter for a popular fast food franchise and gets trapped in a freezer for over 48 hours. While discussing the same with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi opened up about her journey as an actor and how going that extra mile has helped her learn so much acting.

Revealing that she has learnt to push herself with each film, Janhvi Kapoor mentioned that she can’t sleep without hearing the word ‘action’. She told Bollywood Hungama, “I have learnt so much about acting and myself. How much I can push myself. I didn’t know I could function in such tough and extreme conditions being so unwell as unwell as I was, and being and the only thing that was keeping me going was hearing ‘action’ and then, I didn’t feel any pain. I just wanted to live this. And it was so riveting. And I think that’s when I realized the power of the word action. Like, you know, now what’s happening to me now I can’t sleep till I hear the word action. Achha abhi sone ka shot dedo, neend aa jayegi (Now it’s the sleep shot and I will sleep).”

She went on to add, “I was telling Sharan (director of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi) that in my dream, I was doing a shot ki main so rahi hoon (that I was sleeping). And my sister was sleeping next to me and she told me how I kept giving a shot. In my dream, there was a Jimmy Jib camera on top and Sharan kept saying action and reset.”

Coming to the film, Mili is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen. The film is slated to release on November 4 and also stars Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in a pivotal role.

Rajinikanth to make a special appearance in his daughter Aishwarya’s directorial Lal Salaam

Lyca Productions have collaborated with Rajinikanth for many films including Enthiran and 2.0. They will now be joining hands with his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth for her forthcoming venture Lal Salaam. Releasing a title poster of the film a day ago, the production house also held a special pooja to kick start the pooja. It was attended by Aishwarya along with her father Rajinikanth along with the film’s leads played by Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth Santhosh. However, in a recent social media post, it was also confirmed that Rajinikanth will feature in the film, albeit in a cameo.

While many details of the film are currently kept under wraps, Lyca Productions announced the major information about the upcoming project on their official social media handle a day ago. Confirming the special appearance by Rajinikanth, the production house took to social media to talk about it saying, “We are extremely delighted to announce our next project, with the one & only Superstar ?? @rajinikanth in a special appearance!”

The title poster of Lal Salaam, which was posted a day ago, showcased a backdrop of riots with cricket accessories like a bat destroyed and a burning helmet on the ground. In the same post, they also announced that the film will be directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth with music by A R Rahman.

Varun Dhawan wants to work with Lokesh Kanagaraj; says, “Hindi films are getting their a**** kicked right now”

Last seen in Jugjugg Jeeyo that managed to garner some good response at the box office, Varun Dhawan is all set to return to the big screen in Bhediya. The actor will be seen in a never seen before avatar of a werewolf and is quite excited about playing it on-screen. Recently when he was quizzed about the comparison of Hindi and South films, the actor mentioned that Hindi films are getting a**** kicked on screen. He also expressed his desire to work with some of the biggest filmmakers from the South industry which includes SS Rajamouli, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and S Shankar.

Varun Dhawan recently revealed to India Today that the Hindi film industry should seek inspiration from their South counterpart and how films like Kantara and KGF can inspire better cinema. He said, “Indian films are doing really well…If Kantara is doing really well or KGF 2 or Vikram, we should seek inspiration from these films and try and work with each other. It’s the best thing for Indian films to grow right now. I know it sounds really easy right now because the Hindi films are getting their a**** kicked right now. So maybe it’s a great time and easy answer for me to say that. I have always wanted to do films in Telugu, Tamil and Bhediya is going to release in Telugu and Tamil as well.”

Meanwhile, the actor also mentioned about the kind of stardom the Bollywood stars see down South and how they are welcomed with open hearts. Citing the example of KGF Chapter 2, he shared, “I don’t know why people forget that KGF 2 also had Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt in it. Why do you forget that as well? They are also loved over there and we also love all the actors from there. I just seek inspiration… I think Allu Arjun is amazing and Yash has done great with KGF. Even now, if you see, Kantara, the way the film has been written, directed and acted by the same person, Rishab Shetty. People can divide us, but we are one country and it is a good time to be collaborative because cinema, in general, we are going through a big transition all over.”

Coming to Bhediya, the film also stars Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee, Deepak Dobriyal among others and is slated to release on November 25.

Alia Bhatt visits Reliance Hospital with Ranbir Kapoor; sparks rumours of delivery

After the promotions, Alia has taken off on a maternity break will be resuming work few months post delivery

Earlier in October, Alia hosted an intimate baby shower ceremony. It saw the presence of her mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Shweta Bachchan, Alia’s mother Soni Razdan, Nitasha Nanda, Rima Jain, Anissa Malhotra Jain, Shammi Kapoor’s wife Neila Devi and others. Alia was dressed in yellow attire.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt will next star in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. It is slated for a 2023 release. She also has a Hollywood debut in Heart Of Stone with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.

EXCLUSIVE: Janhvi Kapoor reveals that a ‘rat’ received better treatment than her on the sets of Mili; says, “The rat was the star of this set”

It couldn’t have been an easy job for Janhvi Kapoor to play the leading role in the survival drama Mili. The film showcases the journey of a girl who works as a waiter/delivery girl for a popular food chain franchise and gets trapped in a freezer for over 48 hours. The actress had to undergo extreme situations while shooting for the film to maintain its authenticity. While discussing the same with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi spoke about being trapped in the freezer with a rat and how the little furry animal received all kinds of privileged treatment.

The trailer of Mili gives us a glimpse of how tough it would have been for Janhvi Kapoor to stay in the freezer at for so long. In fact, the actress revealed that she shot in the freezer for over 20 days in extreme minus temperatures as low as -18 degrees  for them. During this conversation, Janhvi spoke about director Mathukutty Xavier’s decision to get a rat on the sets of the film.

Speaking about the animal was treated better than her to Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi said, “I must say that they exercised a lot of sensitivity with the rat and not so much with me. Because when I was shooting in the freezer, sometimes we’d be there in for hours and we’d have a 15-20 minute long takes in the freezer. After that, I’d come out and just like collapse. But when the rat came, it was the star of this set. Everybody was like ‘the rat is gonna feel really cold, so we can’t do like long shorts’, ‘in one minute we’ll have to cut because the rat needs to relax’. I was like the rat needs to relax? Your actor is dying!” she laughed.

Readers would be aware that Mili is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen. The film is slated to release on November 4 and also stars Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in a pivotal role.

EXCLUSIVE: Janhvi Kapoor opens up how she shot in a freezer that was below 10 degrees for Mili; says, “My character wasn’t prepared to be in this situation”

Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Good Luck Jerry. She will be seen in a role where she is trying to fight for her life in the survival drama Mili. The film, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen, is directed by Matthukutty Xavier, who also directed the original. The actress will be essaying a one-of-a-kind character in the film and in a recent interview exclusive with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi opened up on how they created the environment for the film and what she had to undergo while shooting in minus temperatures for this survival drama.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi Kapoor discussed her experience of shooting for Mili, her camaraderie with filmmaker Matthukutty Xavier, her prep for the character, and many different aspects of Bollywood. During the same, the actress also revealed the kind of brief she had received from the filmmaker and how the set for the film was created. Talking about the same, Janhvi said, “You don’t prepare for this role because my character wasn’t prepared to be in this situation. So my director’s brief was ‘just be you, just do you’. We are building a freezer that will be at minus 10 degrees at all times. And then I’ll put you in it in a thin pair of pants and a thin sleeveless shirt. Okay, and I’ll get a real rat and I’ll put the rat and it will be like a non-rabid rat, I put it in the freezer with you and just have to shoot.”

Talking about Mili, the film will feature Janhvi Kapoor as a waiter at the food franchise who gets locked in the freezer. Her worried family set out on a mission to find her along with the police but will they be able to save her before it’s too late, is what the film is all about. The Hindi version also features Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles. The film released on November 4.
