Uunchai Box Office Estimate Day 2: Shows over 100% jump; collects Rs. 3.60 crores

After collecting Rs. 1.81 crores on the opening day, Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai has seen a big spike in collections on Saturday. The slice-of-life drama has gone up by 100 percent on its second day, thereby showing the biggest second-day growth for a Bollywood film in the post-pandemic world. According to early estimates, Uunchai has collected in the range of Rs. 3.55 crore to 3.70 crore on its second day.

The two-day total of Uunchai stands at Rs. 5.50 crores, and the movie is now set to hit a double-digit weekend. The jump in collections on Saturday is an encouraging trend and indicates that Uunchai will be a horse of the long race at the domestic box office. The makers have gone ahead with a limited release strategy, and this has worked in the favour as the demand for this film is on the rise by the hour. On Saturday, the film had around 200 shows more than the opening day, and on Sunday this is expected to rise further with 100 more shows.

The film is doing exceptional business in Mumbai as not a single ticket was available at most of the properties across the city for shows post 6 pm. Gujarat too is slowly owning up to the film and a big spike in the business is expected in Gujarat on Sunday. The film has seen a limited release in the mass belts, but there will be growth all across the board tomorrow as well.

The Sooraj Barjatya directorial has got the senior citizens on board in big numbers and one of the key reasons for its success is also the nominal ticket pricing, well within the reach of the elderly audience base. If it manages to score a Monday higher than Friday, it will well emerge as the much-needed sleeper hit of the year for the Hindi film industry.

EXCLUSIVE: Priyanka Chopra Jonas explains the importance of DIY haircare rituals: “my grandmom used to sit me down and oil my hair”

After being a global star, an investor, and an owner of a restaurant, Priyanka Chopra Jonas added another feather to her cap as she turned into an entrepreneur with her haircare product Anomaly. The actress recently landed in her home country after three years as Anomaly made its debut in India. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Chopra talked about her haircare brand and how it is a reflection of Indian haircare DIY rituals.

While calling Anomaly Indian hair care, PeeCee asserted, “Indian hair contributes to the most amount of wigs in the world. And it is because we have an abundance of it. It’s thick, it’s and that’s not just genes. It comes from the rituals of oiling and taking care of our hair. We didn’t grow up with hot tools and tongs and blow dryers. Our hair care was oil. And I remember my grandmother used to sit me down or oil my hair and I used to hate it.”

The ‘Desi Girl’ further added, “But that’s what Anomaly is about. Anomaly is not a shampoo or a haircare range that is just to clean your hair or style your hair.” She also called Anomaly gender inclusive and elaborated by saying, “We are not for women or for men, hair is hair. Our marketing has told us that men’s hair care and women’s hair care are different. It is for anybody who has hair on their head. It is for them.”

Concluding her take on the same, the Bajirao Mastani actress said, “It has great ingredients. It’s clean. It has no parabens, or sulphates. None of that stuff, which could ever exist in shampoos.”

EXCLUSIVE: Priyanka Chopra talks about the success of Anomaly: “Want to create a loyal consumer base based on the product itself”

Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas has finally come back to her home country India after three years. For the unversed, the actress landed in India with multiple goals, including the launch of her haircare product, Anomaly. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Priyanka opened up about juggling between being an actor and an entrepreneur. She also talked about the success of Anomaly on Nykaa.

On being asked how involved she is in this business, given that acting is her day job, PeeCee asserted, “I’m involved in every business of mine, if anything has my name on it, then I’m involved in, I don’t attach my name to anything unless like, I can make sure I have quality control, or I have the ability to say, I can take it to the maximum the potential that it has.”

The actress further was further asked if because of her fans she is attached to her business. In her response, the actress said, “I’m not relying on my fans to be able to be my only consumer base. I want to create a loyal consumer base based on the product itself. So for me, it’s really important that I’m associated with excellence. I always associate myself with and strive for excellence. So we worked for a year and a half on this product before it even hit the market in America two years ago. And today we are with multiple retail partners.

On her association with Nykaa, the Baywatch actress informed us, “The Nykaa team told me that they have about 44,000 plus beauty brands on their platform, and we are in the top 10 today, just in three months. That’s not because of my name. That’s because we have repeat customers, people that have used it and come back and bought more. And that just is such a validating feeling.”

As she continued speaking on the same, the Bajirao Mastani actress called herself a learner and added, “Before this, I was more like an investor. I am someone who always walks with caution. I don’t run at a very fast speed.”

Money laundering case: Delhi court extends Jacqueline Fernandez’s interim bail to November 15

The incident between Sukesh Chandrasekhar and Jacqueline Fernandez has been in the news for a while. When the conman was detained in a case involving the money laundering of Rs 200 crore, the otherwise romantic affair turned chaotic and controversial. As per the latest development in the case, a Delhi court extended the temporary bail granted to the actress on Friday.

According to a report by ANI, Delhi’s Patiala House Court extends the interim bail of Jacqueline Fernandez till November 15. After hearing from the lawyers for Fernandez and the Enforcement Directorate, the court delayed a decision on the actress’s bail petition for Friday. While ED claimed that she posed a flight risk, the judge questioned the agency as to why the actor had not yet been detained, in response.

The Murder 2 actress has requested bail, claiming that since the investigation is over and a charge sheet has been submitted, she doesn’t need to be kept in custody. She was originally mentioned as an accused in a supplementary charge sheet that the Enforcement Directorate had submitted, which the court had taken cognizance of on August 31.

Earlier, in her statement to ED, Jacqueline had revealed, “I have been speaking to Sukesh since February 2017. In August 2021, he was arrested, after which I never met him. He told me that he is the owner of Sun TV and from the political family of Jayalalithaa.” During the investigation, Fernandez’s stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi was also questioned, and she admitted that she was given Rs. 3 crores by Sukesh Chandrashekhar to purchase actress’ gifts.

EXCLUSIVE: Arbaaz Khan answers whether Tigmanshu Dhulia is directing the fourth instalment of Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg, watch

Actor Salman Khan enjoys a humongous fan following across the country and beyond. Among many others, he won the hearts of millions with the Dabangg series. After the release of the third installment, fans are eagerly waiting for the next part in the movie series. In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Arbaaz Khan spilled some beans about it.

After a fun rapid-fire round with us, Arbaaz participated in a Yes or No game. During the same, we asked the actor to confirm if Tigmanshu Dhulia is directing Dabangg 4. Khan took a pause for a couple of seconds, but responded by saying, “I’m not too sure about that at this point in time.”

Interestingly, in the rapid-fire round, we asked the Dabangg 3 actor to state aspects that make the Dabangg series special. In his quick answer, he said, “It’s very heartland. It’s very rustic and very rooted. It has a very distinct character who is not completely white.”

For the unversed, Arbaaz also talked about his recently released web-series Tanaav. The 12-episode show is streaming on SonyLiv. Directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sachin Krishn, the web show is an Indian remake of an Israeli show Fauda. The ensemble star cast of the series features Danish Husain, Ekta Kaul, Manav Vij, M. K. Raina, Rajat Kapoor, Satyadeep Mishra, and Shashank Arora, among others.
