From a director to an actor to a lyricist to a singer, Farhan Akhtar has donned multiple hats over time. And the proud father is now thrilled to see one of his daughters follow his footsteps. For the uninitiated, Farhan Akhtar, who tied the knot with Shibani Dandekar in 2022, recently posted about a proud father-daughter moment on social media where he shared a video of his daughter Akira giving a live musical performance.

Farhan Akhtar, who is co-parenting his two daughters Shakya and Akira with his first wife Adhuna Bhabani, recently posted about a proud father moment, when he saw Akira performing live on stage. His second daughter seems to have taken a keen interest in music and reminds us of the passionate Aditya Shroff from Rock On. She was seen performing live in Mumbai on the popular track, ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’ by Tori Kelly. Commenting on it, was none other than Farhan’s wife Shibani Dandekar who cheered for Akira saying, “what a (star emoji)”. Besides her, many of them from the fraternity like Farah Khan Kunder, who is Akira’s aunt and Farhan’s cousin, Farhan’s Excel partner Ritesh Sidhwani, former actress Amrita Arora, and Shabana Azmi posted comments on the video. Mother and former wife of Farhan, Adhuna Bhabani also dropped heart emojis, showcasing her love for her daughter’s performance.

For the unversed, Adhuna Babani and Farhan Akhtar officially announced their separation in 2016 and separated in 2017. On the other hand, Farhan and Shibani Dandekar tied the knot in February 2022 in an intimate ceremony at the filmmaker’s father Javed Akhtar’s farmhouse in Khandala.

Drishyam 2 Box Office: Film collects Rs. 15.38 cr on Day 1 surpasses Ram Setu; emerges as fourth highest opening day grosser of 2022

The much talked about and keenly anticipated release Drishyam 2 was released yesterday. Taking the story of the Salgaonkar family forward, the Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Tabu and Shreya Saran starrer has been the talk of the town in the run up to its release. In fact, with immense anticipation surrounding the film, expectations of its box office business were at an all-time high. Well, living up to the same, the business of Dhrishyam 2 has taken off to a flying start.

In this box office report, we look at the opening day collections of Drishyam 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Released across 3302 screens in the Indian market, Drishyam 2 has managed to rake in Rs. 15.38 cr on Day 1. With this the business of the film has managed to break into the top 5 highest opening day grossers of 2022. Though leading the list are previous releases like KGF – Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 53.95 cr, Brahmastra which collected Rs. 36 cr, and RRR which collected Rs. 20.07 cr, Drishyam 2 manages to become the fourth highest opening day grosser of 2022 surpassing the business of Ram Setu which had collected Rs. 15.25 cr.

If that was not enough, Drishyam 2 has seen better first day collections than certain other releases as well like, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which collected Rs. 14.11 cr, Bachchhan Paandey which collected Rs. 13.25 cr, Laal Singh Chaddha which collected Rs. 11.70 cr, Samrat Prithviraj which collected Rs. 10.70 cr, and Vikram Vedha which collected Rs. 10.58 cr.

Currently, Drishyam 2 continues to hold strong, with positive reviews and good audience feedback the business of the film is expected to grow further. As per trade predictions, Drishyam 2 which has seemed to rejuvenate the box office after a dry spell is likely to see immense growth in the days to come. With incredible trending on the cards, the business of Drishyam 2 is likely to cross the Rs. 50 cr mark by the end of its opening weekend alone.

Kartik Aaryan paying the phone bill before receiving Superstar Of The Year award is every middle-class person ever!

Kartik Aaryan rose to overnight superstardom with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 this year. While many films failed to withstand the pressure of box office, this year, the horror comedy turned out to be one of the few Hindi films that managed to act as a massive crowd puller in the theatres. Earning over Rs. 250 crore worldwide, the film turned out to be a game-changer for the actor. Talking about it in his heartfelt award acceptance speech, Kartik took to social media to share a video about his special ‘night to remember’ which was a compilation video of the night he attended the Elle Superstar of the Year Award 2022.

Kartik Aaryan took to Instagram to share a photo of him posing with the award and thanked the Elle magazine for the honour saying, “Elle Superstar Of The Year Award ?? Thank you @elleindia This year has truly given me a lot !! Thank you to all the Fans ??  Further Kartik Aaryan also shared another post, a video of the ‘night to remember’ where he was seen recalling the moments from the Elle Awards night.

The actor captioned the video saying, “From paying my mobile bill to receiving ‘Superstar of the Year’ Award A Night To Remember.” In the video, we can see Kartik Aaryan parking his car outside Jio Digital to pay his mobile bill and he also spoke about how he wanted to pay it so that his phone doesn’t shut. Furthermore, he also shared montages from his styling session before the award ceremony along with how he socialized with the fraternity at the function including actresses Deepika Padukone and co-star Kriti Sanon.

The video also featured Kartik Aaryan giving a heartfelt awards acceptance speech after receiving the Elle Superstar of the Year honour, as he said, “Thank you for the superstar of the year award. This year has really been a game changer for me as an actor and performer. Yeh title mujhe bohot acha lagta hai. I hope har saal mai yeh award leta rahun. So thankful to the audience. On the work front, Kartik Aaryan has the remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Shehzaada in the pipeline for release. Besides that, he has Satyaprem Ki Katha, Aashiqui 3, and Captain India among others. While his thriller Freddy will be releasing on OTT, he is also expected to be a part of Hera Pheri 3.

Jailer: This power packed glimpses of Rajinikanth from the Nelson Dilipkumar film leave fans excited

The superstardom of Rajinikanth is known to all and the excitement around his films never ceases to surprise us. Directed by Beast filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar, Thalaivar’s next Jailer, that also stars Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar in a pivotal role, has gone on floors. But fans were excited to catch a glimpse of the megastar on the sets of the film when a video was shared by the production house Sun Pictures recently on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Sun Pictures shared a video of Jailer on its official page which aims at showing glimpses of Rajinikanth, hard at work. While the video did not reveal much about the film or its characters, it garnered ample response from fans and audiences who expressed their eagerness to watch the megastar on the big screens. Earlier this week, the makers had also unveiled a new still of the Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkummar from the film. Besides them, the film also features Rajinikanth’s Padaiyappa co-star Ramya Krishnan.

Talking about the recently released video, fans took to Instagram to speak about their excitement about Jailer saying, “What a Comeback from Nelson’s Sun Picture’s Jailer – Thalaivaaa. What a Man, Stylish In Each Frame. Really Waiting to create a milestone in Every States and Overseas.” Another fan said, “thalaivaa massss na adhu nee dhan… (if someone is massy it is you) Just a glimpse gives me Goosebumps…” Yet another fan added, “Super bro????…rajini sir nice style …Nelson Nanba ungaluku TQ sun picture super production team ….” Many of them dropped fire emojis showcasing their love for the film.

With music by Anirudh Ravichander, Jailer also stars Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan in pivotal roles and is expected to the big screens in 2023. This marks Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar.

BREAKING: Varun Dhawan-starrer Bhediya granted U/A certificate; CBFC asks ‘c*****a’ to be replaced with ‘gadha’, ‘sansad’ to be replaced with ‘body’

The much-awaited film Drishyam 2 has opened to a fabulous response. It has brought a wave of cheer to the industry and exhibitors. What has also added to their happiness is that Bhediya, which will release next week, also has generated huge hype. This is due to the concept of a man turning into a wolf, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s presence, youthful appeal and music.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Bhediya’s censor process has been completed and the makers were given a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the producers had to make certain changes in the cuts, as recommended by the CBFC’s examining committee. The abusive word ‘c*****a’ was replaced with ‘gadha’. At another place, ‘b*******d’ was replaced with a scream, ‘aaahh’.

And that’s not all. The examining committee also asked for changes in certain non-abusive dialogues. ‘Ganga Jamuna mix’ was asked to be replaced with ‘Ganga Jamuna juice’. The word ‘sansad’ was changed to ‘body’ while ‘PMO’ was changed to ‘minister’. Finally, ‘country’ was removed and replaced with ‘logo’.

After these changes were carried out, the censor certificate was handed out to the makers of Bhediya. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 156 minutes. In other words, Bhediya is 2 hours and 36 minutes long. Trade veteran Taran Adarsh mentioned yesterday on Twitter that the run of the time also includes 16 minutes of end credits and scroll. The censor certificate was secured by the producers on Thursday, November 17.

Bhediya is all set to be released on November 25. Besides Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, it also stars Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal. It is directed by Amar Kaushik of Stree (2018) and Bala (2019) fame. Interestingly, Bhediya belongs to the same universe as Stree. Stree’s actress, Shraddha Kapoor, also appears in a special appearance in a song in the film.

CAT trailer out: Randeep Hooda plays a police informant in the Netflix original, watch

Spotlighting a parallel narrative spanning across two crucial timelines in Punjab, that shape the fate of one man and his family – Gurnam Singh, Netflix launched the trailer of its upcoming action-packed crime thriller CAT. Headlined by the versatile & intense Randeep Hooda, created & helmed by filmmaker Balwinder Singh Janjua, CAT goes beyond the romanticized version of Punjab and puts forth an authentic story of a brother’s love, remission and espionage. Produced by Movie Tunnel Productions in association with Jelly Bean Entertainment, CAT, available in Punjabi, Hindi and English, is slated to release on 9th December, only on Netflix.

CAT brings forth the story of Gurnaam Singh who is compelled to become a police informant once again in spite of donning a new identity and moving forward in life. While Gurnaam is not new to this, the stakes are high this time around. To secure his brother’s future, he finds himself plunged into the underbelly of politics, corruption and crime to bust a thriving drug cartel. Is he being used for personal gain in the process? Caught in the crosshairs of betrayal and deceit, will this game of cat and mouse take him down the rabbit hole?

Speaking about his foray into the direction, creator Balwinder Singh Janjua shares, “CAT is a very unique story and I am glad we could collaborate with Netflix to bring this story to life. As a writer and director, I will define CAT as a story of relationships – be it family, friendship or deceit! It’s a story set in Punjab and explores two timelines as well as the underbelly and its complexities through well-defined characters. We’ve shot in over 80 locations across Punjab to bring authenticity and flavour to the fore. Working on CAT has been a rewarding journey and I can’t wait for the audience to experience it.”

Sharing details about the series, Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India, said, “Bringing distinctive and fresh stories is a core part of our series strategy and with CAT we are excited to have an authentic and gritty action thriller set in Punjab, available in Punjabi and Hindi. Actor Randeep Hooda shares, “Gurnaam Singh is fierce yet calm, he is strong yet fragile and while you will find familiarity with this character,  you will not be able to guess his next move. Along with Randeep Hooda, the series stars phenomenal actors such as  Suvinder Vicky, Hasleen Kaur, Geeta Aggarwal, Dakssh Ajit Singh, Sukhwinder Chahal, KP Singh, Kavya Thapar, Danish Sood and Pramod Pathal amongst others. 

CAT will be streaming on December 9, 2022, only on Netflix.
