Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjana Sanghi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Jaya Ahsan starrer goes on floor, see photos

Wiz Films’ yet-untitled film starring Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjana Sanghi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Jaya Ahsan, Dilip Shankar, Paresh Pahuja, Varun Buddhadev and many more have hit the floors. The film, an investigative drama with a heart-warming story of a dysfunctional family coming together, is being shot in Mumbai and Kolkata and is slated to release in 2023.

Wiz Films a global content production company spearheaded by Viraf Sarkari is all set to entertain and inspire people around the globe through innovative and powerful storytelling. It aims to produce and create original content that inspires people all over the world. As the film went on floors, Producer Viraf Sarkari said “This is our first feature film production and we are extremely delighted to begin this journey with a socially relevant film being put together by a multi-award-winning and talented team of actors such as Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjana Sanghi Parvathy Thiruvothu, Jaya Ahsan, our writer Ritesh Shah, DOP Avik Mukhopadhyay, & Music Director Shantanu Moitra. The film will be directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury – a National Award-winning filmmaker who always has the urge to tell a story in a different and edgier way and will soon start shooting with a powerful ensemble cast. Speaking on the occasion Aniruddha said, “I am happy to do this film that has a story layered with intrigue which reveals itself over time. How faced with odds, people come together to form a strong unit. I am happy to collaborate with Wiz Films and an eclectic cast like Pankaj Tripathi Sanjana Sanghi Parvathi Thirovothu Jaya Ahsan and Paresh Puhuja along with cinematrograapher Avik Mukhopadhyay writer Ritesh Shah music director Shantanu Moitra and editor Arghyakamal Mitra. I am sure Viraf and I will have a great journey together.”

Pankaj Tripathi, known for pulling off any kind of role effortlessly said, “There are three reasons why I agreed to do this film. First, I’ve read a lot of scripts lately, and this one was one of the most amazing ones. Secondly, I’ve always wanted to work with Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury who is a very fine director & thirdly, Wiz Films is a fantastic production company and I hold the partners in the highest regard.”

Parvathy Thiruvothu said, “I feel it’s a massive opportunity for me to dismantle and unlearn because I’ll be working with Tony sir and Pankaj sir. That’s always an amazing and scary process so you need people you can do a sort of trust fall while you create a character so perceptive. That’s the best part for me about joining the team!”

Jaya Ahsan adds, “This is my first film in Hindi and my character is an integral part of the film. When this offer came to me from Wiz Films I was thrilled and said yes immediately because Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury is the director, and I have Pankaj Tripathi as one of my co-actors. I always wanted to work with Aniruddha and Pankaj and getting them together and that too in the first Hindi film doubles the delight. I am excited for the shoot to begin”

The story which has been jointly written by Viraf Sarkari, Ritesh Shah & Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury is being produced by Wiz Films, KVN and HT Content Studio. It’s a Wiz Films Production in association with Opus Communications.

‘Oye Oye’ girl Sonam returns to Bollywood; says, “Want to work with Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Pandey, and Vishal Bhardwaj

Bollywood actress Sonam, who was known for films like Vijay, Tridev, and Vishwatma, discussed her plans about returning to Bollywood. The actress has been away from the industry for over three decades. After being married to filmmaker Rajiv Rai and considering the attempt on his life by hitmen, the actress had relocated outside India. But now that she has returned to the city, she has decided to return to the entertainment industry too. The actress decided to give a candid interview to ETimes where she discussed about her future plans in the industry.

Talking about quitting Bollywood, Sonam said, “I quit films at a very young age as I got married and then, had to leave India for personal reasons. I really don’t know what was going on in my mind at that time. I wanted to have a family. I think I was too young to realize the ramifications. I was only seventeen-and-half then. I was too naive.” For the unversed, Sonam and Rajiv Rai separated in 2016.

The actress went on to confess that she had relocated over five years ago but the pandemic stalled her plans of making a comeback. “I had slipped into the city about five years ago. Actually, I wanted to come out three years ago, but COVID threw a spanner,” she added. The decision came after the actress realized how much she missed being a part of the industry. “The industry was very supportive of me. They made me feel very important and happy. I have no big regrets, no big complaints.”

However, she did confess that there were few offers that she regrets giving up on. “I was offered Baaghi as the female lead opposite Salman Khan. And I refused Lootere (with Sunny Deol) too. I had decided to start a new life. I was getting married. But I wish I had done Baaghi. I have a lot of respect for Salman Khan and I am a big fan of his.” Readers may recall that Sonam was also a part of many multi-starrers. In fact, when Yash Chopra launched her in Vijay, she shared the heroine tag with Meenakshi Seshadri. Being candid about her relationship with her female co-stars, she continued, “No two heroines can be friends. But, I had no acrimonious equation with any heroine.

Coming to her ‘return to B-town’, the actress also has an idea about what she wants in the future. “I have lived in the UK and US, globe-trotted actually. It’s my second innings. And, as my Instagram handle says, I was lost and I am now found again. I want to meet new people now and work with them. I feel I still have a lot to learn. And, I am willing to learn. I didn’t keep in touch with the industry. I wish I had. I want to work with Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Pandey, and Vishal Bhardwaj. I love their style of filmmaking. And I want to do web shows; I love OTT; I consume a lot of content in OTT space.”

She concluded by adding how her family is equally supportive of her decision. “My son says that I should do whatever makes me happy. Others are not sure as I keep oscillating in my decision. But now, I have finally decided.”

Anushka Sharma on her retro-avatar cameo in Triptii Dimri starrer Qala: ‘Did ‘Ghodey Pe Sawaar‘ for the fun of it’

Anushka Sharma has left netizens surprised with her cameo in Triptii Dimri starrer Qala as a retro superstar. Her presence in the film was kept a closely guarded secret and it seems like it’s become a huge talking point with audiences who are vocalising how they want to see her more on screen!

Anushka’s special appearance in Anvita Dutt’s Qala is in the much-loved song ‘Ghodey Pe Sawaar’ which has become the talk of the town! In the movie, Anushka is seen in a black-and-white montage as a 1940s star lip-syncing in the song, which was sung by the brilliant Tripti Dimri’s character Qala Manjushree.

Anushka is happy that her presence has surprised people who are going ga-ga about her performance in her brother Karnesh Ssharma’s production. She says, “I did this song for the fun of it. No other reason whatsoever and I enjoyed myself doing it! I had fun playing a yesteryears actress and I’m really happy to see the reactions from people for my special appearance. I wasn’t expecting that people would like it so much but I’m glad that they have and are happy to see me on screen after sometime.”

Pathaan director Siddharth Anand reveals concept of Shah Rukh Khan’s role; says, “Wanted to make SRK the symbol of alpha machismo”

Aditya Chopra and ace director Siddharth Anand are trying to make Pathaan India’s biggest-ever action spectacle for audiences! The visually spectacular Yash Raj Films’ action extravaganza, Pathaan, is part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and has the biggest superstars of the country Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in it.

The adrenaline-pumping, visually extravagant film presents Shah Rukh Khan as a gun-toting spy with a license to kill. Siddharth talks about the vision for the superstar’s uber-cool look in Pathaan that has become a rage with people already.

Siddharth says, “Shah Rukh Khan has sported countless looks that have shaped the pop culture of our country and inspired generations of youngsters to dress like the king of Bollywood. His looks are associated with moments and memories of people and it won’t be wrong to say that he has made India more fashionable through his style in films. So, it was a task and a big challenge to craft a look that is extremely different for SRK, who is playing a daredevil spy in Pathaan!”

He adds, “We wanted to capture the essence of his character which is inherently cool through what he wears and also his hairstyle. We wanted to make SRK the symbol of alpha and machismo, someone who is effortlessly cool and hot at the same time, through his look.”

Pathaan is set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
