Singer Harshdeep Kaur shares glimpses of Salma Khan’s grand 80th birthday bash; see pics

While Salman Khan will be celebrating his birthday very soon, the superstar’s mother recently turned a year older. A day ago, the Khan household was busy in celebrating Salma Khan’s 80th birthday bash in a rather grand manner. While the children, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira Khan, and Arpita Khan including Salman Khan have not shared any glimpses of the bash, singer Harshdeep Kaur who was a part of the guestlist gave social media users a sneak peek into the party.

Along with sharing photos with the birthday girl Salma Khan, Harshdeep Kaur also posed with daughter Arpita Khan Sharma, Alvira Agnihotri, and Helen. Readers would be aware that while Salma Khan is writer Salim Khan’s first wife, Helen is his second wife. Going by the photos, it seems like the theme of the bash was black as the guests and hosts were dressed in the same colour.

Harshdeep also posted a note expressing her gratitude towards hosts Arpita and Alvira as well as talking about how she enjoyed the bash. She wrote, “It felt so special performing for the lovely Salma Khan Ji on her 80th Birthday Celebrations! The sweetest @arpitakhansharma & Alvira being amazing hosts made me feel like a part of the family. Also meeting Helen ji and making her dance on her legendary songs was the cherry on the cake ?? Thankful for all the love & warmth.” She also took to the stage to perform on many of her popular chartbusters.

For the unversed, Harshdeep Kaur is a popular playback who is known for songs like ‘Katiya Karoon’ (Rockstar), ‘Heer’ (Jab Tak Hai Jaan), ‘Zaalima’ (Raees) and ‘Dilbaro’ (Raazi). She has also done playback singing for some of the popular Salman Khan movies like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan.

Kapil Sharma starrer Zwigato to premiere at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala in India

After the World premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Asian premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, Applause Entertainment and Nandita Das’ ‘Zwigato’, is set to premiere in India at the 27th International Film Festival of Kerala. The film has been selected as the opening film in the Kaleidoscope section of the festival. The screenings are on the 10th and 13th of December 2022.

Written and directed by Nandita Das, the film features Kapil Sharma, as a food delivery rider who grapples with the world of ratings and algorithms. Shahana Goswami plays his wife, a homemaker, who starts to work to support his income. It is the story of the relentless struggle of life, but not without their shared moments of joy. Set in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, the film captures the lives of invisible ‘ordinary’ people that are hidden in plain sight. The film is life-like – bitter-sweet.

Ranbir Kapoor says he is proud that a film like RRR is making an impact in Hollywood

Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor stepped out for the first international event after becoming a father. The actor attended the ongoing Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. During a conversation, he spoke at length about the films not working in India post-COVID-19 and his film Shamshera becoming a big disaster. He also spoke about how SS Rajamouli’s RRR is making waves in the West amid winning awards and Oscars 2023 buzz.

Speaking to Deadline, the actor said, “They’re doing really good storytelling,” while talking about South Indian cinema doing well in terms of box office. He added, “It’s not taking itself too seriously. It’s got all the songs, dances, action, friendship, and comedy. So it’s a multi-genre film, but those are hard films to make because we try to make them, and they keep failing. So we’re really proud that a film like RRR is making an impact in Hollywood.”

RRR has been submitted in 15 categories for consideration for Oscars 2023. The categories include Best Motion Picture, Best Director (S.S. Rajamouli), Best Actor for Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, Best Supporting Actor (Ajay Devgn), Best Supporting Actress (Alia Bhatt), Best Original Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’, Best Original Screenplay (S.S. Rajamouli, V. Vijayendra Prasad, Sai Madhav Burra). Best Original Score (M.M. Keeravaani), Best Film Editing (Sreekar Prasad), Best Sound, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Visual Effects.

In recent times, SS Rajamouli was announced as the winner of the New York Film Critics Circle Awards for Best Director. The film also received the Best International Picture award at the Atlanta Film Critics Circle.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will next star in Luv Ranjan’s untitled next with Shraddha Kapoor. The film is scheduled for Holi 2023 release. He also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal in 2023 as well.

Ranbir Kapoor says his ‘passion project’ Jagga Jasoos’ failure hurt him the most; calls Shamshera a ‘big box office disaster’

During a conversation, he spoke at length about the films not working in India post COVID-19 and his film Shamshera becoming a big disaster. He also spoke about how his passion project Jagga Jasoos had not done well which hurt him the most.

Speaking to Deadline, the actor said, “It’s a film that I produced. It was a passion project. It was directed by Anurag Basu. It was a very heartwarming and sweet idea, but it didn’t do well, which really hurt,” he said. “That’s the only film in my career that hurt me.”

Before Brahmastra in September 2022, he had another release. Back in July, he was seen in YRF’s Shamshera which failed at the box office. Talking about the same, Ranbir said the film was “by far the hardest film I’ve worked on. It was a big box office disaster, but the biggest mistake I made on Shamshera was that I stuck on a beard.” The actor sported a beard in the film. As the audience laughed hearing his story, he added, “When you’re shooting in the heat, and you stick on a beard, it’s like your face is melting.”

Kartik Aaryan says he had ‘self-belief’ after being ousted from Dostana 2; knew Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 would work well

Actor Kartik Aaryan and filmmaker Karan Johar’s fallout was widely reported when the former was ousted from Dostana 2 for professional reasons. But, the actor says that he had self-belief while many doubted his potential and even that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 may not work.

When asked whether the fallout affected him, the actor interrupted and said, “Yes, but I had a lot of self-belief. I said to myself that I would let my work do the talking,” he told E-Times in an interview. He dded, “I knew that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 would open the theatres wide. I decided to promote Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 maximum. There were constraints on the budget due to COVID days then, but I went ahead.”

“It was being widely said that I won’t be able to do Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 well enough. Here, I was being directly doubted. In my heart of hearts, however, I knew that this movie will work and bring the public back to the theatres and I had told this to Kumar Mangat. I knew that I would be able to do it in my way and take this film to a high level,” he shared.

Last year, rumours were rife about Kartik’s ‘unprofessional’ behaviour. At the time, Dharma Productions released an official statement saying they won’t be working with Kartik Aaryan and that they would announce the new cast. “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” it read.

In the same interview, when asked if he has a list of filmmakers he wants to work with, Kartik added, “Haan, har koi chahta hai ki aap sirf unke liye maximum kam kare. But I want to be everyone’s favourite. See, I cannot do small talk. I cannot please people by doing chit-chats. I don’t have anybody in my list whom I don’t want to work with. Kisiko aisa lagna bhi nahi chahiye kyunki aisa hai hi nahi. Abhi saamne kisiko kaisa bhi feel ho ya na ho. Luv Ranjan sir has done 4 movies with me, Sajid Nadiadwala sir has done 2, makers are repeating me. I am in happy space.”

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan was most recently seen in Freddy which released on Disney+ Hotstar. He will next star in Shehzada with Kriti Sanon.
