Publication confuses Randeep Hooda with Charles Sobhraj, actor gives a hilarious response

Notorious criminal and killer Charles Sobhraj was released from the Central Jail in Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday and deported to his home country France. He was serving a life sentence over there since 2003 for the murder of a US tourist in 1975 in Nepal.

Randeep Hooda played Sobhraj’s character in the latter’s biopic Main Aur Charles, released in 2015.

Funnily, a well-known publication carried the news about Sobhraj’s release but used a picture of Hooda from the 2015 movie. The actor looked at the funny side of it on social media. He tweeted the picture of the news and wrote, “Is that a back handed compliment or did you genuinely get confused between the “real” and “reel” Charles Sobhraj?”

As expected, the tweet was met with humorous responses. But there were also some who felt that Hooda was so in character that the publication might have got confused between reel and real. Writer and columnist Zainab Sikander replied to the actor’s tweet saying, “They got confused cause you literally metamorphosed into Charles Sobhraj for that role. Can’t blame them!”

Directed by Prawaal Raman, Main Aur Charles also starred Richa Chadha, Adil Hussain, Alexx O’Nell, Mandana Karimi and Lucky Morani.

On the work front, Randeep’s last project in the form of the Netflix show CAT released earlier this month. In the coming year, he will be seen playing the titular character in Swatantra Veer Savarkar, which will also be his directorial debut.

EXCLUSIVE: Inspector Gaitonde from Drishyam series aka Lamlesh Sawant claims, “Ajay is not just a great artist, but also a great human being”

Drishyam 1 & 2 had one of the most talented star-cast with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in lead. However, we just cannot deny that it was the great actor, Kamlesh Sawant aka Inspector Gaitonde, who added the tinge of humour and spice in the film.

When asked about his experience working with extremely talented actors Ajay Devgn and Tabu, Kamlesh said, “Both the actors are so particular and punctual that our late director, Nishikant Kamat, used to fear calling them early. This was because whenever they were asked to come, they used to always be present on the set on that exact time. So, the director made sure that all the prior arrangements were made following which Ajay Devgn and Tabu were asked to come”.

Talking about Ajay Devgn, Kamlesh Sawant said, “Ajay Devgn is a great artist for sure, but along with being a great artist, he is also a great human being. We had worked earlier in 2001, for the film Khakee, after which we reunited directly in 2014 for Drishyam. Assuming he will get disturbed by me as I consider him a superstar and myself a mere co-actor, I preferred not to go to him. To my surprise, he came and addressed me while recollecting memories from Khakee. He appreciated my work in the former film and informed me that his friend’s were asking him about that actor who will be performing Inspector Gaitonde’s character. He was just trying to make me understand the importance my character held. I agreed upon it and promised him to give my complete justice to the role”.

When asked about his experience with Team Tabu, Kamlesh said, “Post the film shoot of Drishyam, it is usually us who asks for a photo with super stars like her, but, in her case, it was Tabu asking to get a photo clicked with us (her police staff). Even after the release of Drishyam 2, I received a call from Tabu, which is a great deal in itself. She expressed me on call, how impressed she was with my work in the film. Tabu does not have my number; she contacted the production house and took efforts to call me just to appreciate my work. These are the things that motivates me the most”.

Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor earn double from their investment in the start-up DroneAcharya

Recently, market veteran Shankar Sharma earned a 100% profit from his investment of Rs 2.45 crores in the start-up DroneAcharya Aerial. Along with him, Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor also doubled up their investment from the same start-up, as per a report in Economic Times.

The start-up, which is headquartered in Pune, was founded by Prateek Srivastava and it got backing from Sharma, Aamir and Ranbir, among others.

As per the report, Aamir bought 46,600 shares of DroneAcharya for Rs 25 lakhs while Ranbir invested Rs 20 lakhs to buy 37,200 shares. The price of each share was Rs 53.59.

Earlier this year, DroneAcharya became one of the first private firms to get a DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) certified licence. The firm has trained as many as over 200 pilots this year. It also conducts surveys in areas like mining, agriculture, water resources and law and order.

Speaking about the venture, Srivastava, the Founder and Managing Director of DroneAcharya Aerial, told the publication, “Training and manufacturing are going to play major roles in the growth story of DroneAcharya as a global brand. We are targeting not just the Indian market but also Southeast Asia, Middle East, US and Central Asia.”

On the work front, Aamir had one release this year in the form of Laal Singh Chaddha while he made a guest appearance in Salaam Venky. Ranbir, on the other hand, was seen this year in Shamshera and Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva.

Sara Ali Khan gives her last shot of 2022 in the UK for action entertainer with Tiger Shroff; says ‘see you in 2023’, see photos

Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan has been busy this year with back-to-back shoots for her upcoming films. Recently, after wrapping the shoot of Ae Watan Mere Watan, Sara went on to the UK to kick start the shoot of her next film with Tiger Shroff. Shooting for her fourth film of the year, the actress has wrapped up the hectic month of December and shot for her last scene of the year, 2022.

Taking to her social media, Sara shared a picture from the sets of her ongoing project as she wrapped up the project. While expressing her excitement to shoot her last shot of the year. She wrote, “AND THAT’S A WRAP ON DECEMBER 2022! JUST GAVE THE LAST SHOT OF THE YEAR” and “see you NOW. see you in 2023.”

In her selfie with her team, Sara seems to be donning an action avatar with little bruises on her face. She is reportedly shooting for Jagan Shakti’s next alongside Tiger Shroff in London.

Sara Ali Khan later put up a picture of her with her bags and seemingly she’s set to return back home for Christmas.

Produced by Jackky Bhagnani, the mission-based film is said to be a big-budget action thriller with some powerful adrenaline-pumping stunts in the film and never-seen-before sequences. As per earlier reports, while the makers are in search of the actor who will essay the role of antagonist, an official announcement of the casting is expected to be made in the next few days. Produced under the banner Pooja Entertainment, the film is said to be having a theatrical release.

Honey Singh on Shah Rukh Khan – Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Besharam Rang’ controversy: “People have become way too sensitive”

Rapper Honey Singh has spoken on the ongoing controversy surrounding Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The first song‘Besharam Rang’ has created an uproar and has seen polarizing responses on the choices of clothes of Deepika Padukone. Singh said that earlier people weren’t this sensitive and would take things as entertainment.

Speaking to PTI, Honey Singh gave the example of the song ‘Rukmani Rukmani’ from the 1992 film Roja and said, “Freedom was much more earlier. People may have been less educated but they were far more sensible. They were intellectually wiser and would take things as entertainment. They wouldn’t take anything to heart… Rahman sir had a song, ‘Rukmani Rukmani shaadi ke baad kya kya hua’ (What happened after marriage, Rukmani?)… People accepted it. I grew up listening to it, but when I made such lyrics, people started protesting. Now it’s even worse, people have become way too sensitive. I can’t fathom why. It’s just entertainment.”

Honey Singh had previously crooned ‘Lungi Dance’ for Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in Chennai Express.He added, “People were so intelligent at that time. They understood shayari and never saw it as something dirty. Nowadays, if someone makes songs like ‘Choli ke peeche kya hai’, people will sit on their head and ask, ‘What’s happening?’”

Most recently, a complaint was filed seeking registration of an FIR against Pathaan in Mumbai for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of people and “intentional” use of the colour saffron to offend the Hindu religion. As per reports, the complaint was filed by an activist at Sakinaka Police Station in Mumbai.

Before that, Vineet Jindal, an advocate at Supreme Court, had filed a complaint with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry against the lead actors for “objectional video” amid the ‘Besharam Rang’ row.  The complaint has been filed to seek to ban the release of Pathaan till the “correctness of objectionable song”.

The film has been in multiple controversies. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal demanded that the movie should be boycotted and banned. He slammed the costumes of Deepika Padukone in ‘Besharam Rang’.

In another incident, a mahant of Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi Raju Das called for people to set fire to the theatres that screen the movie. He also said that this has insulted religious sentiments. This comes after Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra raised issues against objectionable costumes in ‘Besharam Rang’ and Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam said that the film that insults Hindutva will not be tolerated.

Speaking of celebrations, Kapoor has planned to keep it low-key this year & is going to spend the day at home with his family & also the newest addition to the Kapoor family tree, his grandson. His 65th celebration was a memorable one with his friends.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anil Kapoor was seen in Jugjugg Jeeyo and Thar this year. He will be next seen in an upcoming web series alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, which is an official Hindi remake of the UK series, The Night Manager. The show will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

Apart from that, Anil Kapoor also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal with Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol. He will also star in Siddharth Anand’s next Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.

Sonam Kapoor, on the other hand, will be next seen in the upcoming crime thriller film Blind. The film is the Hindi remake of a 2011 Korean crime-thriller by the same name which was directed by Ahn Sang Hoon.

Kuttey actor Naseeruddin Shah compares working with Vishal Bhardwaj and son Aasmaan; says, “I think he has gone a little further than his dad”

Like Amitabh Bachchan who had the singular achievement of working with both father Manmohan Desai and son Ketan Desai, Naseeruddin Shah has worked with Vishal Bhardwaj in Maqbool and 7 Khoon Maaf, and now with Vishal’s son Aasmaan in his debut film Kuttey.

When asked to shed some light on his role Naseer says, “My role in Kuttey is a surprise.” Asked to compare father and son Bhardwaj, Naseer observes, “I think Aasmaan has gone a little further than his dad in their chosen genre. Father and son Bhardwaj are both night birds! They prefer night shoots, which I hate. But I am personally very fond of them, and they are both very well prepared and make their actors comfortable.”

Naseer looks back at the past year with some joy. “The past year has been good. I did the series Taj. Then I did Vishal’s short film and a couple of others. Just finished my work in Baba Azmi’s film Salman And Daughter. We shot it in Lucknow.”
