EXCLUSIVE: Here’s what Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor’s Archies will revolve around

Since its announcement, the Zoya Akhtar directorial The Archies has been making headlines. In fact, the film, which features Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda, has been the talk of the town thanks to the fact that the film will feature these newcomers making their debut. However, despite the media coverage of the film, very little is known about the subject matter. Well, Bollywood Hungama has managed to source out some details of the venture and what it revolves around.

Talking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the development informs us that the film will basically be based on the issue of deforestation. “The Archies has managed to capture the audience and the media’s attention. The teaser of the film, which featured a jungle setting, raised eyebrows and questions alike. But not many know that the jungle plays an integral part of the story of the film”, reveals the source. “In fact, the story of The Archies is centrally based on the topic of deforestation. The film is based on the said environmental issue and the protection of nature. That is the whole idea of the film, hence the setting of a jungle was used in the teaser”, reveals the source.

While it will definitely be interesting to watch the new bunch approach an important topic in their debut vehicle, the film will also feature Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina in key roles as well. A musical experience bursting with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything young adult, the film will feature the youthful energy, hope, and excitement of the sixties era. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is co-written by Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre. Said to be a musical drama set in the 1960s, the film is expected to release on Netflix.

Anupam Kher has always been a dependable actor but in 2022, he emerged as the actor with the best success ratio. He was seen in Karthikeya 2, which was a surprise hit in Hindi. He also appeared in Uunchai, which got acclaim from critics and the public and also trended very well. And finally, he was one of the main actors in The Kashmir Files. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, this film was the biggest Bollywood hit of 2022, earning Rs. 252.90 crores, shocking and surprising the trade and industry. In a recent interview, Anupam Kher made some interesting comments about this film.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, Anupam Kher said, “The Kashmir Files is a turning point in Indian cinema. When 30 or 40 years later, we’ll talk about Indian cinema and its growth, people will say, ‘Cinema before The Kashmir Files and after The Kashmir Files’. As a film, it’s cinematic brilliance, something India should be proud of.” He also said that The Kashmir Files made people realize the truth about Kashmiri Pandits’ tragedy after 32 years. He stated, “Also, besides its heart-touching story, people also embraced the film because of the guilt.”

What also was significant about The Kashmir Files was that it was reportedly made in just Rs. 15 crores. Hence, in terms of ROI, it is one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. On this, Anupam Kher credited the aam junta for showing so much love to the film, “Audiences have always been intelligent. We only underestimate them due to our insecurities. A good film either does well commercially or becomes a cult after a few years. With all the propaganda and opposition, the film collected more than Rs. 75 crores overseas.”

Besides Anupam Kher, The Kashmir Files also stars Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar and Bhasha Sumbli.

Akshay Kumar steps out of Aanand L Rai’s Gorkha; claims he doesn’t want to associate with a story with a shadow of doubt

After Atrangi Re and Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar and Aanand L Rai were supposed to reunite for a third film. Back in 2021, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films announced a biopic Gorkha, based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo. He was the legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army (5th Gorkha Rifles). The film was to be helmed by National Award-winning director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. It was also reported last year that the project is set to go on floors in March 2023. But, the latest updates reveal that the actor is no longer part of Gorkha.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar decided to walk out of the project after questions were raised regarding the story and its authenticity. “Some veterans from the unit that Major General Cardozo was attached with during the war reached out, putting major question marks on his version of the events. Akshay has utmost respect for the armed forces and does not want to associate with a story that may have a shadow of doubt,” a source told HT.

Reportedly, Akshay’s spokesperson confirmed the news that he is not doing the film and did not divulge into details. Akshay was supposed to essay the role of the war hero who fought in the wars of 1962, and 1965, and most notably in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will star in Selfiee with Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. The film is set for February 2023 release. He also Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Tiger Shroff, and Soorarai Pottru remake.

BREAKING: CBFC removes close up shots of buttocks and ‘side pose’ from Pathaan’s ‘Besharam Rang’ song

The last major controversy of 2022 was regarding the statement of Prasoon Joshi over Pathaan. The chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) admitted that the film has undergone cuts as per the rulebook.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt about the cut list in the film. The examining committee asked for more than 10 cuts, most of which are related to the dialogues. In two places, the word ‘RAW’ was replaced with ‘Hamare’ as per the context. ‘Langde Lulle’ was replaced by ‘Toote Foote’. The word ‘PMO’ was removed while in 13 places, ‘PM’ was replaced either by President or Minister.

Then, ‘Ashok Chakra’ was removed and it was replaced by ‘Veer Puraskar’, ‘ex-KGB’ with ‘ex-SBU’ and ‘Mrs Bharatmata’ with ‘Hamari Bharatmata’. In the dialogue ‘Isse sasti scotch nahin mili’, ‘scotch’ was replaced by ‘drink’. Then a change was made in the text that appears at one point in the film whereby ‘Black Prison, Russia’ was replaced by ‘Black Prison’.

Finally, three changes were made in the song ‘Besharam Rang’. The close up shot of buttocks, ‘side pose (partial nudity)’ shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements during the lyrics ‘Bahut tang kiya’ were removed or curtailed and replaced with ‘suitable shots’. The CBFC cut list, however, doesn’t mention how many seconds of shots have been censored. Also it is not clear whether or not the shots of the orange swimsuit, that led to an uproar, have been retained.

After these changes were made, the CBFC granted the censor certificate to the makers of Pathaan on January 2. The film secured a U/A certificate and its length, as mentioned on the certificate, is 146 minutes. In other words, Pathaan is 2 hours and 26 minutes long.

Produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, Pathaan stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. It is directed by Siddharth Anand and releases on January 25, 2023.

Sushmita Sen stops following brother Rajeev Sen on social media; Sen family supports Charu Asopa in her battle

The issues between television actress Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen, who is the brother of Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen continue to make news as the couple is struggling to retain their marriage. After several accusations thrown at each other and blame games, the latest update was that they were being cordial with each other so that they co-parent their daughter Ziana. However, it seems that the problems have cropped up once again and the Sen family has decided to stand in support of the actress and not their son Rajeev Sen in this battle.

A source close to the family informed that the situation at the Sen residence has worsened as Sushmita Sen seems to have decided to break ties with her own brother. The source said, “All is not well in the Sen household after the Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen matter. In fact, elder sister Sushmita Sen and her parents have decided to distance themselves from Rajeev instead. They have had a huge showdown with Rajeev and Sushmita has even stopped following Rajeev. But she continues to follow Charu on social media.” In an earlier interview, Charu too had stated that the Sen family always supported her in her endeavors and how they had decided to go against their own son to do it.

For the unversed, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen tied the knot in 2019 but soon after a year of marriage, there was a lot of trouble in paradise. Furthermore, rumours of their separation started in 2022 post the delivery of their daughter Ziana and since then, both celebrities are going back-forth about their decision of staying together. While Rajeev had accused Charu of hiding the truth about her first marriage, the actress alleged about her husband having trust issues and also of not letting her work in the industry.

BTS’ Jimin and BIGBANG’s Taeyang’s first collaboration titled ‘Vibe’; song to drop on January 13, see teaser photo

Kicking off 2023 on a musical note, BTS’ Jimin is collaborating with BIGBANG member Taeyang on the latter’s upcoming album. While the details of the album are kept under wraps, the first single from the album will be out on January 13. Titled ‘Vibe’, the first teaser photo was unveiled on January 4, 2023.

The teaser poster shows Taeyang and Jimin in glittery ensembles in vibe-y lit backdrop. Jimin is sporting silver-ish hairdo.

Meanwhile, Taeyang recently joined a new agency THE BLACK LABEL following his contract coming to end with YG Entertainment. The pop artist is gearing up to return with a new solo album in January 2023. With this new album, Taeyang will make comeback after approximately 5 years.

On the other hand, Jimin is also prepping for his solo album release. Last year, he collaborated with one of his best friends Ha Sung Woon for OST ‘With You’ for the K-drama Our Blues. He also was one of the featured artists on ‘Bad Decisions’ on Benny Blanco’s track. Following BTS’ break from group activities, the members are focusing on releasing individual projects. Jimin also aims to release new music soon.
