Pathaan Overseas Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan starrer collects USD 3.80 mil. [Rs. 30.97 cr.] on Day 2 in overseas

The Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan was released on January 25, to a thunderous response from the audience. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham the Yash Raj Films venture has lived up to trade expectations. In fact, despite facing turbulence in the run-up to its release Pathaan, the film has a wide release across 2500 screens overseas.

After drawing in USD 4.5 million [Rs. 36.68 cr.] on its opening day, reports state that the business of Pathaan has been holding steady. On its second day running, Pathaan managed to draw in a further USD 3.80 million [Rs. 30.97 cr.] at the overseas box office. Not surprisingly, the overseas territory of U.A.E/G.C.C leads with collections pegged at USD 1,470,000 [Rs. 11.98 cr.] with the U.S.A. coming in as the second highest grossing overseas market with collections of USD 733,238 [Rs. 5.97 cr.] coming from 599 screens. Following these two major overseas markets are territories like Australia, Canada, and the U.K. which saw Pathaan perform rather well at the box office, with USD 476,323 [Rs. 3.88 cr.] from, 105 screens, USD 378,027 [Rs. 3.08 cr.] from 60 screens, and USD 286,830 [Rs. 2.33 cr.] from 213 screens coming in respectively. While the territory of New Zealand comparatively saw a lower rate of collections with USD 61,108 [Rs. 49.81 lakhs] coming in from 38 screens.

While the collections of the film may have taken a dip, trade predictions state that the business of Pathaan in the overseas markets will see an increase over its first Saturday and Sunday running. As of now, thanks to the positive reviews and appreciative audience feedback the film continues its box office march.

From Ayesha Singh to Tejasswi Prakash, about eight television and OTT Indian stars make it to the 30 under 30 Asians list

The annual 30 under 30 lists have often featured Indian celebrities who have managed to break the mold and make a name, irrespective of the medium assorted with. From Bollywood superstar actresses to social media influencers and celebrities who have marked their presence, the list celebrates the achievements of these personas that have become trendsetters and won hearts and fans over a short period of time. While actresses like Ayesha Singh, Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Helly Shah, Asim Riaz, Debattama Saha, have been a part of the list before, names of popular star Tejasswi Prakash, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress Pranali Rathod, and internet sensation Faisal Shaikh have been added to the list.

In the 30 under 30 list this year, the latest achievements of these celebs is what have garnered them a special place in the list. Tejasswi Prakash, who is also known for her off screen romance with Karan Kundrra, is not only famous among #TejRan fans but she also managed to create a carve a niche for herself with the popularity of Naagin 7 in which she played a double role.

On the other hand, Faisal Shaikh, took his internet popularity way further by becoming a reality show celebrity, not on OTT but on Television. While he has already explored the OTT space, he became a participant of the Indian version of Fear Factor, Khatron Ke Khiladi as well as the celebrity dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa that only added to his massive fan following.

The list also includes Pranali Rathod, who started off with smaller shows, and suddenly shot to fame for playing Akshara Goenka Birla in the longest running television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The actress’ chemistry with Harshad Chopda is much loved and it is important to note that she is playing the lead in one of the highest TRP-rated shows of national television.

Talking about the rest of the names in the list, Ayesha Singh continues to be a part of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin which has been adding to her popularity, along with Asim Riaz continues to garner a massive fan following on social media. Coming to the other achievements, Helly Shah managed to make her presence felt at Cannes last year, Debattama Saha is making her Bollywood debut with Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada, and Sumbul Touqeer Khan has taken her fame to the next level with Bigg Boss 16.

HBO renews The Last of Us for season 2 after stellar reviews on premiere

HBO has officially renewed the PlayStation video game adaptation series The Last of Us for season 2. The apocalyptic drama stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the lead roles. According to Deadline, The Last of Us this month scored the second-largest premiere after House of the Dragon since Boardwalk Empire’s launch in 2010. Episode 1 has surpassed 22 million viewers domestically, up nearly five times from its premiere-night audience on January 15. Episode 2 got 5.7 million viewers across HBO Max and other channels in the U.S. Sunday night.

As per the report, the stellar numbers mark the largest Week 2 audience growth for any HBO Original drama series. “I’m humbled, honored, and frankly overwhelmed that so many people have tuned in and connected with our retelling of Joel and Ellie’s journey,” said executive producer Neil Druckmann who was also the writer and creative director of the game.

He added, “The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast & crew, and HBO exceeded my already high expectations. Now we have the absolute pleasure of being able to do it again with season two! On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog & PlayStation, thank you!” As the official logline reads, the series “takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.”

“What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival,” the logline continues. Executive producer and showrunner Craig Mazin also commented, “I’m so grateful to Neil Druckmann and HBO for our partnership, and I’m even more grateful to the millions of people who have joined us on this journey. The audience has given us the chance to continue, and as a fan of the characters and world Neil and Naughty Dog created, I couldn’t be more ready to dive back in.”

Besides Pascal and Ramsey, Season 1 also features Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Melanie Lynskey, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, Elaine Miles, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker. Based on Naughty Dog’s award-winning video game, The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Mazin and Druckmann.

Suhana Khan in a body-con Jacquemus dress and Ananya Panday in a neon outfit proved that they are the most fashionable BFFs in town

Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited comeback movie, was officially released on January 25. After an absence of more than 4 years, SRK is making a comeback in the spy thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. Deepika Padukone and The Badshah of Bollywood are teaming up once again for the renowned project, which is backed by Yash Raj Films. The Pathaan crew went to a special screening of the movie on Tuesday night in Mumbai, which took place the day before it was released.

Prior to the big premiere of the movie, on January 24, Tuesday night in Mumbai, the producers arranged a low-key screening event for Pathaan. The star of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan, and his stunning wife Gauri Khan attended the screening event. John Abraham, who portrays Jim, the movie’s main antagonist, and Deepika Padukone, the movie’s leading heroine, were also there. A number of prominent celebrities were spotted arriving for the Pathaan screening, including Salman Khan, Ananya Panday, Ranveer Singh, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Sussanne Khan, and many others. Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan, two of Shah Rukh Khan’s children, also watched the movie.

Suhana Khan can be seen standing with Ananya Panday and another friend in a photo that has appeared online. Ananya strikes a pose next to Suhana as she gives her friend a hug. Suhana was pretty fashionable in a light blue ribbed body-con dress that she grabbed from the Jacquemus racks. A multicoloured ribbed fabric in beige and blue tones is used to construct her dress. Her dress is mid-length with a thigh-high slit, features long sleeves, a polo collar, front buttons, and ribbed details. Her hair remained loose. She only added a pair of little diamond earrings as an accessory. Ananya Panday, in contrast, stood out with a neon-coloured, slit-back dress without sleeves. They seemed like they were having a blast together in the photo.

Pathaan, which released yesterday, practically smashed box office records with a huge Day 1 opening of Rs 57 crores. Pathaan, the most anticipated movie in Indian cinema in a long time, is currently playing in theatres everywhere in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Shah Rukh Khan makes his cinematic comeback in this movie after the span of 4 years, which is a part of Aditya Chopra’s grandiose spy world. Additionally, it makes a fourth appearance of his successful duo with Deepika Padukone and has John Abraham as the real villain.

Karan Johar moves track featuring Alia Bhatt from Switzerland to Kashmir

The romantic duet in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani which was to be shot in Switzerland and which was delayed due to the film’s leading lady Alia Bhatt’s motherhood, is now being relocated to Kashmir.

Purely out of the love for new mom Alia. Says a source in the know, “Karan loves Alia like his own daughter. He would do anything for her. He postponed the release of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, as the love duet could not be shot before Alia’s maternity leave. Karan had decided to shoot the song in Switzerland after Alia’s maternity love. But now he has relocated the song to Kashmir as Alia doesn’t want to leave her baby girl behind for long stretches.”

And as Karan Johar argued, snow is snow. How does it matter whether it is Switzerland or Kashmir? This song would be Karan Johar’s tribute to his idol Yash Chopra. Alia would be dressed in chiffon sarees while Ranveer, for a change, would be seen in formals.
