Shehzada star Kartik Aaryan gets challan for leaving car in ‘no parking’ zone during Siddhivinayak visit, Mumbai Police tease him saying ‘Don’t do the ‘Bhool’’

Following almost a month of promotions, Shehzada released in theatres on Friday. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, it is a Hindi remake of the Telugu superhit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. On the day of the film’s release, Kartik visited the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai to seek blessings for his film. However, the actor got in trouble with the traffic laws.

As per a report in ANI, Mumbai traffic police booked a challan in Kartik Aaryan’s name for parking his car in the ‘no parking’ zone. The Mumbai Traffic Police shared the photo of his car on their Twitter page with a caption that read, “Problem? Problem yeh thi ki the car was parked on the wrong side! Don’t do the ‘Bhool’ of thinking that ‘Shehzadaas’ can flout traffic rules.”

Helmed by Rohit Dhawan, Shehzada also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala and Ronit Roy. The film opened at Rs. 6 crores on Friday.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan will next star in Satyaprem Ki Katha, Aashiqui 3 and a yet untitled movie with Kabir Khan.

Jaideep Ahlawat felt bad about An Action Hero’s failure at the box office: ‘I felt yeh galat hai’

Bollywood actor Jaideep Ahlawat, who has worked on projects like Raazi, Paatal Lok, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar among others, was most recently seen in An Action Hero starring alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. However, the film didn’t work at the box office back in December 2022 but found a new life on Netflix. Ahlawat has said that he felt angry about this and thought that it was wrong that it didn’t fare well at the box office.

When asked if the film didn’t get its due credit, Jaideep Ahlawat told Indian Express, “Yes, I definitely feel that. I feel a little bad for Anirudh (Iyer) also, he is a first-time director and he is an amazing filmmaker and an amazing human being. So I felt a little bad for him, the film also and for me, I felt yeh galat hai.”

He said, “And then when the film came on OTT, everybody watched and loved it. I felt a little angry also. People (after watching it on OTT) wrote how they wished they had watched the film in theatres. Everybody who watched it in theatres or on OTT loved the film. I haven’t come across anyone who said yeh kya bakwaas film hai (what nonsense this is). It feels weird, I was like yeh samajh nahi aaya aise kyun hua (I don’t know what went wrong). It was a Bollywood masala film with so many things in it. There were so many factors in it, so many little social issues were addressed in the film. We told the story in a good way, but it showed yeh sab aapke aas paas ho raha hai (this is all happening in your immediate surrounding).”

Meanwhile, Jaideep Ahlawat has Sujoy Ghosh’s adaptation of the Japanese novel Devotion Of Suspect X with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vijay Varma. He also has the Hindi audio series Marvel’s Wastelanders.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali says, “You need to be careful while making a historical in India”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the most prominent filmmakers from India. He is also known for someone who comes up with larger-than-life period dramas; narrating them with a lot of grandeur and style. But along with praises, box office success and awards, his period films have also attracted controversies. He faced this the most during the making of his 2018 drama Padmaavat, which starred Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

Bhansali touched about this aspect briefly yesterday during an interaction with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos at the first look launch of his upcoming web series Heeramandi in Mumbai. The filmmaker spoke on the need to be careful while making historicals in India and why he views and portrays historical events differently.

The filmmaker said, “When you’re making a historical in our country, you need to be careful. So yes, you need to get your facts right. And that is where my research ends because most of it is imagination. Most of it is how I see the period. It’s done but it’s not done so detailed because I find research very boring. I, as a filmmaker, am not set out to make a documentary that I want it to be exact.”

For those not in the know, Padmaavat had irked the Shri Rajput Karni Sena as the members of the fringe outfit felt that the movie allegedly distorted history and showed characters from the Rajput community in a bad light. Later on, the film got a smooth release and it became a hit at the box office.

Coming back to Heeramandi, the Netflix the show is about a group of courtesans during the 1940s era and it stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh.

Singh played for the Former Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade’s team. Ranveer is a huge fan of Wade and had a chance to meet and interact with him during the All-Star weekend in Cleveland last year. The actor shared several moments on his Instagram stories including a conversation with Ben Affleck, Jeremy Piven, Dwayne, Giannis, among others.


The other celebrities who were part of the NBA All-star roster are reggaeton artist Ozuna, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson, 11-time MLB All-Star Albert Pujols, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live correspondent Guillermo Rodriguez, tennis star Frances Tiafoe, WWE Superstar-The Miz, Brazilian TV host Marcos Mion and content creator Jesser in the rosters.

The 2023 NBA All-star Game was played at Vivint Arena (the home of the Utah Jazz) on 18th February 2023, the 30th anniversary of the first All-Star held in Salt Lake City.

Shehzada Box Office Estimate Day 2: Kartik Aaryan film collects Rs. 7 cr. on Saturday

After collecting Rs. 6 crores on its opening day, the Kartik Aaryan led Shehzada has taken a jump of approx. 15 percent on its second day. According to early estimates, Shehzada has collected in the range of Rs. 6.75 to 7.00 crores, taking the two-day total in the range of Rs. 13 crores.

The larger-than-life entertainer is looking at a 3-day opening weekend in the range of Rs. 20 crores, which is a rather low result given that the expectations were a lot more. The audience footfall is not upto the mark and that’s primarily due to the remake factor. There is chatter within the industry about how the Allu Arjun film, Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo, has been widely consumed by the target audience of Shehzada on TV and Mobile Phones.

The national chains and single screens alike showed a growth of 15 percent on Saturday. PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis combined have collected approximately Rs. 3.35 crores on the second day.

SCOOP: Karan Johar had considered remaking the Marathi hit film, Jhimma; wished to cast Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Neena Gupta

In 2018, Karan Johar produced Dhadak, which marked the debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, it was the official remake of the 2016 Marathi blockbuster Sairat, starring Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru. And now, it has come to light that one more Marathi film has caught Karan Johar’s eye and if all goes well, he might soon be remaking it.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Karan Johar had been in talks to remake Jhimma (2021). He loved the film’s concept, funny and emotional moments and its characters. The talks began last year and the recent developments are not known. Nevertheless, if all goes well and if he gets the right actors, the Dharma Productions’ head honcho would be going ahead with Jhimma’s remake.”

The source further said, “Jhimma comprises an all-female cast. On Karan Johar’s wish list are Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Neena Gupta. He feels that these three actors will do complete justice. Also, bringing the powerhouse artists together will add to the film’s hype.”

Jhimma was released on November 19, 2021, and told the story of a group of ladies of different age groups going on an all-women packaged tour to London from India. It starred Sonalee Kulkarni, Suchitra Bandekar, Nirmiti Sawant, Kshitee Jog, Suhas Joshi, Sayali Sanjeev and Mrinmayee Godbole. Siddharth Chandekar was a rare male actor in the film and he played the role of the guide who’s sometimes irritated and at times blown away by the ladies. Jhimma was directed by Hemant Dhome and he also featured in the film in a small role. It was the first Marathi hit post-pandemic and despite the absence of a conventional storyline, it was loved for its light-hearted treatment, ensemble cast, music and strong writing.

Last month, Jhimma 2 was formally announced with a funny video. Interestingly, Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions has come on board for the sequel as co-producer.
