After Kantara, Hombale films to join hands with Sapthami Gowda once again for YUVA

While Hombale Films has been ruling the hearts of the audience with their mega hits like the KGF franchise and Kantara, they are eying up on an even bigger and grand year ahead with yet another big-budget movie on its way, YUVA. Made under the direction of Santhosh Anandram, the film is going to be packed with intense action sequences with powerful storytelling. Yuva will feature the debut of matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar’s grandson, Yuva Rajkumar, the makers have roped in the talented Sapthami Gowda to the cast of this highly anticipated release of the year.

Taking to their social media, Hombale Films shared the ‘welcome on board’ poster of their upcoming film YUVA. They further captioned it saying, “ಯುವ”ರಾಜನ ಅರಸಿಗೆ ಆದರದ ಸ್ವಾಗತ Get ready to witness the magic of the graceful  @gowda_sapthami once again! With her raw talent and dedication to the craft, we knew she was the perfect fit for #Yuva.”

Sapthami Gowda has been a part of Hombale Films’ legacy with films like Kantara and now with YUVA. Talking about this new venture, it is scheduled to release on 22 December 2023 and will primarily be released in the Kannada language while the plans to release the movie in other languages are under consideration.

Hombale Films is known for producing some of the most successful and critically acclaimed South movies in the industry. They have had a successful run in the year 2022 with two of the biggest blockbusters country has ever seen after the post-COVID19 scenario, KGF Chapter 2 and Rishab Shetty’s Kantara. They will also be coming out with their new action thriller Salaar with rebel star Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran in leading roles that is slated to release in September this year.

Devil in the White City limited series from Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese not moving forward at Hulu

The Devil in the White City series adaptation is reportedly no longer moving forward at Hulu. The series, which initially billed Keanu Reeves as the lead, had been in various stages of development for more than a decade.

As Variety notes, the series had originally been ordered to series at the streamer in August 2022 after originally being put into development in 2019. At the time, Keanu Reeves was attached to star with Todd Field onboard to direct. However, Field had dropped out of the show in October, with Reeves also exiting.

As per sources, Reeves came onboard for the series due to Field’s involvement, but dropped the drama from Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio once Field did. As per other sources, series producers Hulu and Paramount Television Studios and Disney’s ABC Signature had been in talks with Jeremy Allen White and Jude Law along with director Matt Ross for the project.

Per the official logline, the show “tells the true story of Daniel H. Burnham, a demanding but visionary architect who races to make his mark on history with the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, America’s first modern serial killer and the man behind the notorious ‘Murder Castle’ built in the Fair’s shadow.”

Reeves was attached to play Burnham in the show which is based on the book of the same name by Erik Larson. The series also had Sam Shaw attached as writer, showrunner and executive producer alongside DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner, Jennifer Davisson, Lila Byock and Scorsese. As the outlet notes, there are plans to shop the project to other outlets.

Recently, Shraddha Kapoor, during the promotions of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, was asked her reaction if a crossover between Aashiqui (2013) and Rockstar (2011), starring her co-star Ranbir Kapoor, was made. After all, both are musically inclined and both have lost their respective lovers. Shraddha could not stop laughing when she heard this question.

Ranbir Kapoor, too, was asked about this in a recent media interaction. He was blown away as he told the journalist, “Oh wow. Very interesting. Bata Imtiaz aur Mohit Suri ko”! While Imtiaz Ali directed Rockstar, Mohit Suri helmed Aashiqui 2.

When the question was posed to Shraddha, she said, “I don’t know if Aarohi would ever love again. She’s Shirke in the end.” Ranbir was told about it and he replied, “That’s fine. We can collaborate as singers. It need not be a love story. Even I don’t think Jordan can fall in love. Woh toh end mein pagal hi ho gaya tha!”

Meanwhile, Luv Ranjan was asked whether he will consider a crossover between Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and his earlier hit, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). He opined, “I have often thought about it, sometimes even for fun. Like, imagine what will happen if Sonu meets Liquid (Divyenndu from Luv’s film Pyaar Ka Punchnama)? And I am aware that in this genre, no one has tried to do it. I once told Rana Daggubati that till now, we are making our own universes. Bahut interesting hoga agar hum ek dusre ke universe mein ghusne lage aur characters udhaar lene lage! Imagine if Sid from Wake Up Sid (2009) meets Sonu from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, or if Chulbul Pandey and Singhan collaborate. Such a time will also come. Even Spider-Man wasn’t originally in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but look how nicely he fit in the franchise.”

Anushka Sharma takes us on a journey through her childhood home and streets of Mhow

Anushka Sharma shares a palatial residence with cricket superstar Virat Kohli in Mumbai. But before she kicked off her career in modelling, Sharma has always opened up about being a part of middle-class family. She has also spoken about coming from a military background. In a recent video posted by her social media, the actress took her fans and followers into her childhood as she gave them a glimpse of her childhood home and favourite streets in Madhya Pradesh.

Anushka Sharma revealed that she was brought up in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. At the start of the video, posted by her on Instagram, she is seen giving us directions to her childhood home, wherein she is seen saying that ‘it is located at the end of the turn’. Furthermore, she also gave a sneak peek into her childhood home which is expected to be located on the first floor of a one-plus-one building. She is further seen showing us a house of one of her friends, a glimpse of her Army Public School and several locations of Mhow streets which is close to her heart.

In the caption posted along with the video, she recalled memories with her brother Karnesh Sharma, adding, “Revisiting MHOW, MP. The place where I first learnt to swim as a kid, the place where my brother tricked me to ask for a video game on MY birthday which only he played with of course, place where I had many scooter rides with my dad and the place that will always have a piece of my heart”. Followed by the post, actresses like Rakul Preet Singh, Gul Panag, and Sanya Malhotra commented on the post. While Rakul said, “Uff !! Cantts <3”, Gul added, “OMG I need to go back to MHOW now !” whereas Sanya dropped heart and love emojis.

On the work front, Anushka Sharma will next be seen in Chakda Xpress in which she will be seen playing the role of popular Indian female cricketer Jhulan Goswami. While the release date of the film is yet to revealed, it is expected to premiere directly on Netflix.

Khushbu Sundar recalls being sexually abused by father at the age of 8; says, “I had the courage to speak against him when I was 15”

Amongst very few actresses is Khushbu Sundar, who is not afraid to speak her heart out. The actress, who is known for many popular South films, recently got selected in National Commission of Women (NCW). The actress turned politician recently opened up about this honour and spoke about advocating women’s rights. Furthermore, she also recalled her childhood and went on reveal about the bad marriage of her mother and how she was sexually abused by her father.

In an interview with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Khushbu Sundar said, “I think when a child is abused, it scars the child for life and it’s not about a girl or a boy. My mother has been through the most abusive marriage. A man who probably thought it was his birthright to beat up his wife, beat up his children, and sexually abuse his only daughter. When my abuse started I was just 8 years old and I had the courage to speak against him when I was 15.”

She continued, “One fear that stayed with me was my mom may not believe me because I have seen her in that environment where there was ‘kuch bhi hojaye mera pati devata hai (no matter what happens, my husband is my God)’ mindset. But at 15 I thought that it was enough and I started revolting against him. I was not even 16 and he left us with whatever we had and we didn’t know where the next meal will come from.”

Khushbu Sundar is also quite active on social media and often expresses her opinion on the platform. After her achievement of joining the NCW last week, the actress turned politician expressed her gratitude on Twitter saying, “I thank our H’ble PM @narendramodi ji and the government of India for entrusting me with such a huge responsibility. I shall strive hard to protect, preserve & nourish Nari Shakthi which is growing leaps & bounds under your leadership. Looking forward eagerly. #JaiHind @NCWIndia”.

Amitabh Bachchan injured on the sets of Project K in Hyderabad; says, “Rib cartilage popped broke…”

Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan recently got injured while shooting for his film Project K. The actor experienced a muscle tear in the right rib cage while shooting. He also revealed that all the work on the sets has been suspended and cancelled for the time being.

Bachchan wrote on his blog, “In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I have got injured – rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage, cancelled shoot, did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home. Strapping has been done and rest been advocated. Yes painful. On movement and breathing, will take some weeks they say before some normalisation will occur. Some medication is on also for pain.”

He further added, “So all work that was to be done has been suspended and cancelled dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs.” Amitabh continued, “I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities, but yes in rest and generally lying around.”

“It shall be difficult or let me say I shall be unable to meet, the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening. So do not come and do inform as much as you can to those that intend coming. All else is well,” Bachchan concluded.

Project K is Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. The film is simultaneously being shot in Hindi and Telugu.

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai last year, which also starred Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Parineeti Chopra. Apart from Project K, Bachchan will soon feature in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84.

Parineeti Chopra wraps Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila as Diljit Dosanjh shares her first look: “My life remains forever changed”

Parineeti Chopra has recently wrapped up shooting for the much-awaited Imtiaz Ali film, Chamkila, which also stars popular Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role. This marks the first-time collaboration between Parineeti and Diljit, who are set to portray the greatest singers from Punjab in the movie. The film, which was extensively shot in Punjab, features Parineeti as the character of Amarjot Kaur, while Diljit is set to portray the role of Chamkila in the movie.

Diljit took to social media to heap praises on his co-actor Parineeti Chopra. He wrote, “@patineetichopra Film ch Kamaal Kam Kita Parineeti ji ne. Unbelievable.” (Parineeti has done an amazing job in the film. Unbelievable.)

Parineeti also expressed her gratitude towards the entire crew of the film and shared her experience on social media. “Imtiaz Sir, Diljit, Team Chamkila…My life remains forever changed…the most heavenly crew and experience. Peace, happiness, meditation, Punjab…Will never, ever forget this,” she wrote.

On the work front, Parineeti Chopra will be next seen in Chamkila and Capsule Gill.
