Gumraah Trailer Launch: Mrunal Thakur on playing a firm cop: “There are a lot of shades, there are a lot of ups and downs”

The makers of Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur starrer Gumraah released the trailer on March 23. The trailer promises unmissable drama, lots of twirls and a mystery that will unfold on April 7, 2023. Gumraah stars Aditya in a dual role along with Mrunal who will essay the role of a lady cop for the first time.

At the trailer launch, the actress said that she is playing a firm cop. “When you play a cop, there is a responsibility. For the first time, I have played someone, who is firm. It is difficult to play a cop. But the way my character is written is interesting. There are a lot of shades, there are a lot of ups and downs. It was challenging,” Thakur told reporters on Thursday.

“There were times when I would go to Vardhan (Ketkar, director) and tell him, ‘I don’t think I can do it’ and he would say, ‘you got this. And sometimes my voice is sweet that we had to be firm’,” she added.

She further said, “My family belongs to the police department and it was nice to go back to them, take some anecdotes, listen to their stories and implement them in my character.”

Helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar, the film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. Gumraah will release in cinemas on April 7, 2023.

BTS’ Jimin wanders in a dream searching for love in nightlife themed ‘Like Crazy’ music video, watch

Jimin of 21st-century pop icons BTS released his most anticipated first solo album FACE today. The official music video of the main track “Like Crazy” is also available now. FACE illustrates the honest feelings Jimin experienced during the pandemic. It represents Jimin’s breakthrough and growth achieved through vanquishing loneliness and struggles beneath the glare of stardom. Jimin finally stands at a new starting point after facing himself entirely, as suggested in the title of the album.

The album includes “Set Me Free Pt.2,” released in advance on March 17, the main track “Like Crazy” and its English version, a trap soul genre song “Face-off,” pop ballad genre track “Alone,” and “Interlude: Dive” with a dreamy instrumental sound.

The narrative of each song in the album naturally bridges to one another. The album flows from enduring torment and fears to fronting the inner self and setting a new beginning as an artist.

The main track “Like Crazy” sits on the synth-pop genre with intense synth sound and drum sound, upon which Jimin’s poignant timbre draws a beautiful distinction. The inspiration behind the song comes from one of Jimin’s favourite films, Like Crazy. Like the story in the movie, the song depicts relatable feelings of pain, loss and struggles trying hard not to face the heartbreaking reality.

The lyrics sing about the painful feeling and losing oneself while searching for the loved one in a dream but still, wanting to stay in the dream forever. He croons, “I’d rather be / Lost In the Lights / Lost In The Lights / I’m outta my mind / Please onto the end of  this night.” The sound of an upbeat melody juxtaposed with Jimin’s poignant voice gives the song an intriguing balance with the lyrics that sing emptiness. The music video also visualizes such struggles with hazy looks and dazed expressions as if wandering in a dream.

The main track, “Like Crazy” is also released in English version. The track gives off a different charm from its original version.

Jimin participated in the overall album-making process including songwriting and developing the music videos. The multifaceted artist with captivating charm, Jimin steers the album solely without any featured artists. Jimin boasts his unique vocal tone that fits each different genre each song sits on.

The choreography also plays an important role in FACE. While “Set Me Free Pt.2” pictured powerful choreography that shows the magnitude and transitional movements in line with the storyline, the choreography of the main track “Like Crazy” illustrates detailed composition in controlled dynamics with witty and alluring moments.

Starting with his appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 23 and 24, Jimin will meet the fans through various activities.

Aditi Rao Hydari puts her ethnic aesthetic on point for Ugadi Pachadi in a flowery Angrakha kurta and palazzo

Whether it’s a monochromatic saree or an embellished lehenga, ethnic wear in India always creates a festive atmosphere. But, wearing ethnic clothing well is no simple feat. Few people can rock the ethnic style like Aditi Rao Hydari does, despite the fact that we frequently look to celebrities for fashion inspiration. Aditi’s green Angrakha kurta has a flowing silhouette that is decorated with vibrant floral designs in shades of pink, white, and dark green. It has a V-neckline with flower appliqué embellishments, a tie accent with tassels, a belted waist, full-length sleeves, and a tiered, flowing ghera. She wore the kurta with a similar pair of flared, pleated palazzo trousers.

Aditi added striking jewellery to the outfit, such as a floral-shaped ring and large gold and emerald stone earrings. Final glam options from Aditi were a delicate pink bindi, mauve lip colour, matching eye shadow, mascara on the lashes, flushed cheekbones, dewy foundation, and feathery brows. The classic style was completed with side-parted open waves that were braided on one side and gold strappy heels.

Rana Naidu will return only when sobered-down

Season 2 of Netflix’s highly controversial, not to mention lurid Rana Naidu will return in a much sobered form. Sources say the backlash has affected the series’ helmers severely. Veteran actor Venkatesh who is known to have a massive but conservative fan base, has especially been at the receiving end of traumatizing flak for his sleazy character and graphic sex-related dialogues.

Even veteran actress Vijayashanthi has spoken against Rana Naidu without naming the series advising censorship for the OTT platform. To top it all, the minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur recently said, “Abusive language in the name of creativity will not be tolerated. The government is serious about the complaints of increasing abusive and obscene content on OTT platforms. If there is a need to make any changes in the rules regarding this, the ministry is willing to consider that…these platforms were given freedom for creativity, not obscenity”.

Although Thakur did not name any series or OTT outlet, the statement is seen to be response to the backlash against the obscene content in Rana Naidu. Keeping in view the severe backlash, the second season of Rana Naidu will be heavily scrutinized before it makes its way to the streaming platform.

A source informs, “Rana Naidu is a big hit on Netflix. If people were so outraged by its content how come it has clicked bigtime? So no, the second season won’t be scrapped. But yes, it will be severely toned down.”

TIGER 3 SCOOP: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to take on Varinder Singh Ghuman in a JAIL BREAK ACTION scene

Salman Khan led Tiger 3 is among the most anticipated films of Indian Cinema at this point of time and producer, Aditya Chopra is leaving no stone unturned to make this a spectacle like never before. A source has told Bollywood Hungama that YRF is all gearing up to shoot for a mega action sequence featuring their super spies, Tiger and Pathaan in Tiger 3.

“While Pathaan was a comical take on the bond shared by Tiger and Pathaan, Tiger 3 is going to be intense. The plot of Tiger 3 warrants a certain amount of intensity and that would reflect in all the action sequences. In Tiger 3, the two megastars will team up for a big jail break action scene which will be shot for 2 weeks at Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai in the month of April,” a trade source informed Bollywood Hungama.

In the extended action scene, there is a strong opposition to Tiger and Pathaan. “Tiger as a character took ISI and ISIS on a ride single handedly and hence there is nothing that he can’t do by himself. But this time around, he is racing against time on his biggest mission till date and is locked in a prison set up with Indian Body Building Legend, Varinder Singh Ghuman as the villain in the sequence. Pathaan comes into the picture to make things faster for Tiger. Both the lead heroes will fight Varinder Singh Ghuman and his gang in this biggest action sequence set in the jail for Tiger 3,” the trade source further told us.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 is all set to be the biggest Indian action film till date and will release during the Diwali weekend in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Emraan Hashmi plays the main villain in this spy universe film.
