Priyanka Chopra Jonas, John Cena and Idris Elba to share screen space in Heads of State

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is currently keeping busy with the promotions of her series Citadel along with Richard Madden. Amid the promotion, the actress has now given her fans yet another encouraging development on her professional front. Priyanka revealed the title of her upcoming movie, Heads Of State, starring Idris Elba and John Cena.

Yesterday night Priyanka took to her Instagram and shared screenshots of reports from Deadline. She shared the news of her new project along with the caption, “On to the next @idriselba @johncena @naishuller @amazonstudios. Let’s gooo!!”

As soon as she shared the new, fans and industry friends expressed their excitement and love in the comments section. Several celebrities from Hollywood as well as Bollywood wished her luck and congratulated her. Reacting to the post, a fan commented, “Global Star for a reason,” “She keeps growing and making India proud day by day.”

The film’s specifics are presently being kept a secret; nonetheless, production will go on floors in May. Heads of State, directed by Ilya Naishuller, is being made by Peter Safran and John Rickard of the Safran Company.

For those not in the know, Citadel, the web series will be out on Amazon Prime Video on April 28 and is a story of two spies on a globetrotting mission. The Russo Brothers – Anthony and Joe Russo – of The Avengers fame are also a part of the show as executive producers. The makers plan to make it into a global franchise and even have local instalments in several countries. An Indian version of the show is currently in production. It stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu and is helmed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, of The Family Man and Farzi fame.

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling takes us to the idyllic world of Barbie Land in new trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie; watch video

Warner Bros has unveiled the official trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie coming in theatres on July 21! The trailer suggests multiple dance numbers, a fight on the beach, and a visit to the real world where Mattel executives await.

The first Barbie trailer officially introduced Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the titular character while keeping the plot and other character descriptions under wraps. While the new film has been shrouded in secrecy, the fun trailer also shows rivalry between the multiple Kens and Barbie’s romance with Ken. And as the trailer suggests, Robbie’s Barbie and Ryan Gosling’s Ken are together, and Ken never goes anywhere without his rollerblades!

The new live-action adventure, which boasts a stellar supporting cast of Will Ferrell as the Mattel CEO, Connor Swindells, Nicola Coughlan, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, America Ferrera, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, Ritu Arya and Jamie Demetriou, as well as additional Barbie and Kens, including Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Simu Liu, Scott Evans and Ncuti Gatwa.

Directed by Gerwig, Barbie was co-written by the director and her husband, filmmaker Noah Baumbach. The film is a co-production by Mattel Films, Heyday Films and Robbie and her husband Tom Ackerley’s, LuckyChap Entertainment. Josey McNamara from LuckyChap and Ynon Kreiz from Mattel are attached as executive producers.

Barbie is slated for release in cinemas on July 21. Watch the trailer below!

Zeenat Aman penned a heartfelt note for late Parveen Babi on her birthday; see post

Zeenat Aman posted a beautiful message and two old photos on her Instagram account in honour of Parveen Babi’s birthday. The seasoned star discussed their amazing resemblance and how, in the 1970s, they were frequently compared to one another.

On Tuesday, Zeenat took to Instagram and shared two throwback pictures featuring her and Parveen Babi. Sharing the pictures, she wrote in caption, “I’d like to remember and honour Parveen today, on her birthday.”

Zeenat wrote how people used to find resemblance between Parveen and her. She said, “Parveen was gorgeous, glamorous and talented. Back in the 70s, we wore our hair in a similar manner and enjoyed Western fashion. Though neither of us saw it, we were told we had an uncanny resemblance. It must have been true, because as recently as last year I was approached in Dubai as “Parveen ma’am””.

Talking about their equation, she further wrote, “Naturally the media at the time spun tales of competition and rivalry between us, but in reality we were always warm towards each other. Not best friends, but contemporaries, colleagues and well-wishers. We worked together on Ashanti and Mahaan.”

Zeenat also spoke about the struggle Parveen faced when she was alive. “Parveen’s struggle with mental health illness came at a time when the country was still so insensitive and ignorant on these matters. After her death, I often ruminated on how she was remembered. The tabloids focused on her romantic relationships and “episodes”, but Parveen was much more than who she dated or what she said when she was unwell. I feel she never truly got the chance to say her piece,” Zeenat added.

Lauding Parveen, Zeenat wrote, “She was intelligent and hardworking and creative. She loved reading, and I remember her curled up with a book in between shots on set. She achieved incredible success as an actor, even featuring on the cover of Time magazine. Later, she took up various creative pursuits, embarked on a spiritual journey, and started designing interiors. We stayed in touch on and off for years, before ultimately drifting apart.”

“Parveen was remarkable in many ways, and I hope she will be remembered for the effervescent person she was,” Zeenat concluded.

Parveen Babi was an Indian film actress and model, who was active in the Hindi film industry during the 1970s and early 1980s. Babi started her career as a model and appeared in several commercials before making her debut in Bollywood with the film Charitra in 1973. She went on to star in several hit films such as Majboor, Amar Akbar Anthony, Namak Halaal, and Deewar among others. However, in the later years of her life, Babi faced some personal and mental health issues, which led to her isolation from the film industry and the people around her. She passed away in 2005 due to multiple organ failure. Despite her tragic end, Babi remains a popular and beloved actress of Hindi cinema, known for her contributions to the industry.

Mrunal Thakur raises temperature as she dons blue bikini at beach; see pictures

Mrunal Thakur blessed her Insta fam recently with a collection of images from her beach vacation. The actress looked mesmerizing as she donned a bikini.

On Tuesday, Mrunal took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures from her recent trip. She is pictured having fun at the beach while wearing a blue bikini. Mrunal was also captured posing in a photo wearing denim and a yellow bodysuit. Along with her photos, the actress posted images of the places she went and the meals she had. She gave images the caption, “Photo dump.”

As soon as she shared the pictures, fans poured their love in the comments section. Deepak Kalra commented, “Why Is instagram down today ? Meanwhile, on the work front, Mrunal was last seen in Sita Ramam with Dulquer Salmaan. She also did a cameo in Akshay Kumar starrer Selfiee. She could be seen shaking a leg with Akshay in the song ‘Kudiye Ni Teri’. She will be next seen in Pippa opposite Ishan Khatter. She also has Gumraah with Aditya Roy Kapoor. Directed by debutante director Vardhan Ketkar. Mrunal will be seen as a cop. Gumraah also stars Aditya Roy Kapur in dual roles. The film is an official remake of film Tamil-language film Thadam starring Arun Vijay. Produced by T-Series Films and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios, Gumraah is scheduled to release in theatres on April 7.  Mrunal also has Pooja Mera Naam with Huma Qureshi, Telugu film with Natural star Nani and R Balki’s Lust Stories 2.

SCOOP: Ram Charan refuses to charge a penny from Salman Khan for appearing in ‘Yentamma’ song in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

The friendship between Salman Khan and Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan seems far more cinematic than anything that they do together on screen. The song ‘Yentamma’ in Salman’s forthcoming starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has a very special appearance by Ram Charan. The RRR has actor refused to accept Salman’s generous fee for the song appearance.

Ram Charan’s bump-and-grind gesture is in reciprocation to Salmam’s extended guest appearance in Ram Charan’s father Chiranjeevi’s Acharya. The two families are very close. When Ram Charan was shooting for the Zanjeer remake in Mumbai, Salman insisted on sending food to the set every day.

On Salman’s insistence, choreographer-director Prabhudheva had incorporated Chiranjeevi’s celebrated ‘Veena Step’ in Salman’s Dabangg 3 dance number ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’ where Salman glides in the shape of the Indian musical instrument, the Veena.

When Salman started shooting for a very special guest appearance, an extended cameo, in the Chiranjeevi starrer Godfather, he made it very clear that he would not accept a single penny for his work. Chiranjeevi’s producers wanted to pay Salman Rs 15-20 crores for his guest appearance in Godfather. But Salman was adamant. He told Chiranjeevi he won’t do the cameo if they insisted on paying him. Salman’s words to Chiranjeevi were, “If I was to ask you to do a role in my film would you charge for it?”

The question left Chiranjeevi moved and speechless.
