Late producer-director Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela Chopra, who was a writer and singer, has passed away at the age of 74. The news was reported on April 20, 2023. As per reports, she was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for the past 15 days and passed away due to age-related illnesses. As industry mourned the loss of the writer-singer, many visited the Chopra house before the last rites. Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt took to social media to pay their last respects.

Ajay Devgn shared a picture of Pamela Chopra on Twitter and wrote, “My thoughts and prayers are with Adi, Rani, Uday and all members of the Chopra family in their hour of grief. RIP respected Pam Chopra Ji. Om Shanti.”

Sanjay Dutt tweeted, “My heart is heavy with the news of Pamela aunty’s passing. Her impact on the industry and the lives she touched will always be remembered.”

Sharing an old picture of Yash Chopra and Pamela Chopra, Anupam Kher wrote, “Saw the friendship of the world, All separated one by one. Goodbye Pam Chopra!! You and Yash ji were an integral and important part of my years in Mumbai! I always considered your smile as one of the beautiful gifts given to me by life. I was lucky that I got to spend a lot of time with you! Om Shanti.”

The official statement from Yash Raj Films read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection.”

Pamela Chopra was admitted to Lilavati Hospital.  “She passed away today early morning due to pneumonia with ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome). She had been admitted to the hospital for 15 days in the ICU,” Dr. Prahlad Prabhudesai told PTI.

Pamela Chopra worked as a singer, costume designer, and writer and was credited as a co-producer in many Yash Raj Films’ production. She was credited as the writer of Kabhie Kabhie and dress designer in Silsila and Sawaal. She crooned several songs for movies like Kabhie Kabhie, Noorie, Kaala Patthar, Chandni, Silsila, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, among others. Chopra was last seen in the YRF’s docu-series The Romantics to celebrate 50 years of the studio. She spoke about her journey, Yash Chopra’s long-lasting career, and how Aditya Chopra took the legacy forward.

Besides films, she was also involved in production and philanthropy. Pamela Chopra is survived by her two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, starring Salman Khan, has finally released today. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this film as it marks Salman’s first Eid release in nearly four years. The trade and industry expect the film to work due to Salman’s star power, songs, larger-than-life feel and family-friendly elements.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that there’s another major USP of the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Bhagyashree has a crucial cameo in the film. Audiences are going to love seeing her and Salman together after nearly 33 years.” Both were last seen in the 1989 blockbuster romantic saga, Maine Pyar Kiya.

The source further said, “The makers have paid a lovely tribute to Maine Pyar Kiya. And along with Bhagyashree, her husband Himalay Dassani and actor-son Abhimanyu Dassani also feature in the film in special appearances. Those who have seen it can’t stop raving about it and feel it’ll lead to madness in cinema halls.”

Besides Salman Khan, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Bhumika Chawla, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar and Vijender Singh. It is directed by Farhad Samji and is the story of a man and his pampered three younger brothers.

Bhagyashree made a stunning debut with Maine Pyar Kiya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya, for which she even won the Best Debut Award at the 35th Filmfare Awards. A year after the film’s release, she married Himalay Dassani. She was then seen in Qaid Main Hai Bulbul (1992), Tyagi (1992) and Paayal (1992), all co-starring her husband. She also acted with Avinash Wadhawan in Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi (1993), after which she took a break from Hindi cinema. Recently, she was seen in supporting roles in Kangana Ranaut-starrer Thalaivii (2021) and Prabhas-Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam (2022).

Pop titans BTS’ SUGA unveiled the teaser of his lead track ‘Haegeum‘ from his upcoming first official solo album D-DAY under his another moniker Agust D. Following the release pre-release track ‘People Pt.2 (feat. IU)’ and concept photos, the musician is gearing up for his solo album release.

The teaser seems like a follow-up to ‘Daechwita‘ from D-2 but is set in the modern world. It seems his character Agust D is out for blood in the climactic teaser. The main track “Haegeum” uses the sound of the Korean traditional string instrument, haegeum, which was also used in “Daechwita” from his previous mixtape D-2.

D-DAY marks the finale of Agust D’s trilogy following his two previous mixtapes Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020). SUGA took part in the overall songwriting and producing of the album. Ahead of the album release, SUGA released a pre-release track from the album on April 7. The song titled ‘People Pt. 2‘ is a collaboration with singer-actress IU. This marked their second collaboration.

Apart from that, he is also gearing up for SUGA: Road to D-DAY documentary which will be released globally at 11 pm KST (7 am PDT) on April 21 via Disney+ and Weverse.  It captures SUGA on a musical journey following his road trip around the world. The film takes the viewers through the ins and outs of his creative process working on his highly anticipated solo album D-DAY set to be released on the same day as the film.
