Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was most recently seen in Cannes, is back in the bay and right in time to celebrate her mother Vrinda Rai’s birthday. On the special occasion, she and her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan baked a special cake.

Sharing a picture on Instagram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wrote, “DEAREST DARLING MOMMYYY- DODDAAA. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and LOVE YOU. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS WITH MUCH HAPPINESS, PEACE, BEST HEALTH, JOY, BLISS, LOVE AND ALL HIS TRUEST BLESSINGS.”

Aishwarya was recently in Cannes and attended the film festival with Aaradhya. Her daughter has been a regular at the prestigious festival and the actress loves to have her daughter by her side. Speaking to Film Companion recently, the Ponniyin Selvan actress said, “It’s really about being together and it’s familiar to her. She knows everybody here. It’s really about reuniting with friends and coming back to Cannes. It’s an experience that is so familiar to her. She is a lot like me in that sense like we are people’s people. So, it begins with that. She loves the place, she loves the vibe. She gets the fact that this is really a film festival. It’s really about the world of cinema. It’s wonderful to see in our kids that there is that respect, there is that recognition of this amazing world of cinema and I’m sure it’s all getting soaked in.”

On the work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan II which was released in April 2023.

Priyanka Chopra recalls ‘dehumanizing’ moment when a director wanted to see her ‘underwear’ during a stripping scene: ‘He said it to the stylist in front of me’

Following her statement of being pushed to the corner in the film industry in India, Priyanka Chopra has made another revelation about her early days in the movies. The actress, who has been busy promoting Citadel and Love Again, recalled the time when a director wanted to see her ‘underwear’ while shooting a stripping scene for a project. She said that it was really a “dehumanizing moment”.

Speaking to The Zoe Report, Priyanka recalled, “This may have been 2002 or ’03… I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy – obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing (at a time). I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise why is anybody coming to watch this movie?”

She continued, “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, ‘I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.’” She said that she walked off the film two days later. “I just couldn’t look at him every day.”

Most recently, Priyanka Chopra was seen in Love Again with Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. The finale of her Prime Video show Citadel with Richard Madden is up for this week. Priyanka Chopra also has an array of line-up including Heads of State with Idris Elba and John Cena and Ending Things with Anthony Mackie. The actress also has the Hindi film Jee Le Zaraa with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. The road trip film will be directed by Farhan Akhtar.

Dilip Joshi recalls sharing a room with Salman Khan during Hum Aapke Hain Koun: ‘He was very cooperative and threw no tantrums’

Actor Dilip Joshi is a household name in the country, courtesy of his TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Popularly known as Jethalal Gada, he has come a long way since his theatre, early TV and movie days. He was in Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit started Hum Aapke Hain Koun and is still remembered for his performance.

In an interview with Rajshri Productions, Joshi recalled the shooting days and how excited he was to share the screen with Madhuri Dixit. “I am a huge fan of Madhuri Ji, I was quite excited to work with her. On the first day of the shoot, I got ready before the call time. It was a fan moment when I saw her stepping down the stairs in the cricket costume and she crossed me. It was a surreal feeling to see her live,” he shared.

He also said that director Sooraj Barjatya introduced him to Madhuri Dixit as a ‘renowned artist from the Gujarati industry’. He added, “It was so sweet of him to listen to me while shooting the film with such big artists. He asked his assistant to bring the script and my schedule. He saw it and asked me if I can give him my entire day and a few hours the next morning just for some close-up shots. He adjusted everything by going out of his way and without making any fuss. He has such a helpful nature.”

Then, talking about with working Salman Khan, Joshi recalled, “During the film’s schedule in Filmistaan, I shared a room with Salman Khan. He never objected to me being in his room. He was very cooperative and threw no tantrums. it was fun working with him.”

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was released in 1994 and was the remake of Nadiya Ke Paar.

Aryan Khan case: NCB’s SIT reacts SHARPLY to Sameer Wankhede-Shah Rukh Khan’s chats: “Wankhede never informed us about the chats. Indulging in such conversations with the family of the accused is a serious VIOLATION of the rules”

The Aryan Khan case is back in the spotlight after the CBI filed a case of corruption against Indian Revenue Service officer Sameer Wankhede and four others for allegedly collecting Rs 50 lakh from Aryan’s father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In a major development, the chats between Sameer Wankhede and Shah Rukh Khan got leaked to the press last week. It showed SRK pleading to the then-former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to release Aryan from prison. The chats were submitted by Sameer Wankhede to the Bombay High Court to prove his innocence and to make it clear that he never demanded a bribe from the star.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which probed the drug case, has reacted sharply to the fact that Wankhede communicated with Shah Rukh while Aryan was in custody. A senior officer, on condition of anonymity, spoke to Mid-Day and said, “We were not aware of the chats Wankhede had with SRK and he never informed the department. Indulging in such conversations with the family of the accused is a serious violation of the rules.” It was also reported in the article that an enquiry will be sought against Wankhede for this act.

The SIT also remarked that the charges against Aryan Khan were unjustified as no drugs were found in his possession. Further, SOPs were not followed and no blood test was done of Aryan.

Meanwhile, yesterday, that is, Monday, May 22, the Bombay High Court, too, spoke about the chats. The court accused Sameer Wankhede of leaking the chats while the matter is still subjudice. It also instructed him to not leak any further chats that can hinder the ongoing investigation.

Senior advocate Aabad Ponda, who represented Wankhede, however, made it clear that the officer had not leaked the chats and that the press accessed it from the petition he filed before the court. He also added that the chats were included in the affidavit to counter the corruption charges levelled at Wankhede. Ponda argued that why would the father of an accused address the officer as upright if the latter had asked for a bribe.

After hearing arguments of both sides, the Bombay High Court granted an extension of the interim protection to Sameer Wankhede until June 8. Yesterday, Wankhede also requested Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar for protection for himself and his family after they received threats on social media.
