Shahid Kapoor shares the reason why Mira Rajput wanted kids Misha and Zain to watch Jab We Met co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan; says, “I think the first film of mine that they saw”
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is currently occupied with the promotional activities of his upcoming movie, Bloody Daddy helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The recently released trailer has created a wave of excitement among internet users, heightening their anticipation for the film. In the midst of these promotional efforts, Shahid opened up during an interview about his reluctance to let his children, Misha and Zain, witness his work. He candidly shared that his kids recently watched his film Jab We Met in theaters, marking the first time they experienced one of his movies.
Shahid told Instant Bollywood, “I don’t like them seeing me much. So, first day their first question was ‘Why do people come up to you?’ Because they hadn’t seen much of my work. Now, recently they just saw Jab We Met. It had come out in theatres. So, my mom took them to see it and Mira wanted them to go and see it. She was like ‘This is one film where you are not like hitting people and doing all this intense stuff. It is a family viewing kind of film, so I want them to go and see it’. So, that actually, I think the first film of mine that they saw.”
Jab We Met was released in 2007. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the romantic comedy featured Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. The film received critical acclaim for its engaging storyline, strong performances, and memorable dialogues. It also became a commercial success, winning over the audience with its blend of romance, comedy, and emotional moments. To celebrate the spirit of love during the Valentine’s Day week, the movie was re-released in theatres, and the response from the audience was nothing short of ecstatic.
For the unversed, Mira Rajput and Shahid Kapoor tied the knot in the year 2015 through arranged marriage. They have since built a strong relationship and have become one of Bollywood’s most adored couples. Together, they have two children – a daughter named Misha Kapoor and a son named Zain Kapoor.
On the professional Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Raj & DK helmed web series Farzi that is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. He will be soon seen alongside Kriti Sanon in an untitled Maddock film. The poster of the film is out and is expected to release in October. Shahid also has Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bloody Daddy, which is set to release on JioCinema on June 9.
