Shahid Kapoor breaks silence on how he felt when his pictures of kissing Kareena Kapoor went viral in 2004: I was DESTROYED at the time. I was just 24 years old a kid. I felt my privacy had been invaded and I could do nothing to protect it. I was a mess

We are living in an era of smartphones and social media. It doesn’t take much time now for a common man to click pictures of celebrities on their phone. If the celebrity happens to snap at people or journalists and seems to be in a lovey-dovey mode at that moment, the snaps can go viral in no time. Two decades ago, this wasn’t common. Yet, Shahid Kapoor found himself in an uncomfortable situation in 2004.

Shahid Kapoor had a long and detailed conversation with Mid-Day’s editor Mayank Shekhar. Mayank revealed that in 2004, young teenagers clicked pictures of Shahid Kapoor kissing his then-girlfriend at a Juhu nightclub, Rain. The blurry images were clicked on a digital camera and the youngsters sold it to Mid-Day for Rs. 500. Although the story doesn’t mention who Shahid’s girlfriend was, it is said to be Kareena Kapoor Khan.

When asked how Shahid Kapoor felt when these pictures were out, he admitted, “I was destroyed at the time. I was just 24 years old, a kid. I felt my privacy had been invaded, and I could do nothing to protect it. I was a mess. At that age, especially—because you don’t even know your own feelings. You are figuring out how to be with a girl you are dating. And in the middle of all that, this happens.”

He also said that in today’s times, with almost everyone carrying a smartphone and paparazzi culture on the rise, something of this sort is expected, He added, “At that time, we were caught off guard by it.”

Shahid Kapoor continued, “Also, ab toh meri shaadi ho gayi hai, bacche ho gaye hain. Nobody is interested in those things about me. They have other 24-year-olds to focus on.”

As per an article in The Telegraph in December 2004, a controversy erupted when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pictures appeared in Mid-Day. Both had accused the tabloid of doctoring the pictures and insisted that they had never visited the said place for three months. Mid-Day was asked to apologize or face an Rs. 20 crores lawsuit. Mid-Day’s then-editor Meena Baghel, however, said that the image was from a mobile phone video and that it can’t be doctored. As per reports, later on, both celebrities reversed their statements and complained of an invasion of privacy.

Pooja Bhatt reveals that she is not addicted to spotlight; says My life doesnt come to an end after Bigg Boss

Pooja Bhatt, who surprised many by entering the reality show Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 earlier this month, has been creating her image as the advisor in the house. The actress is often seen coming in support of co-contestants and giving them advice in terms of need. Considering that she has been one of the senior members and also that she is born into a reputed family, the actress-filmmaker recently revealed why she should be ranked in the top slot.

Pooja Bhatt reveals that she is not ‘addicted to spotlight’; says, “My life doesn’t come to an end after Bigg Boss”

In the recent episode of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2, contestants were asked to rank each other in a scale of one to nine. The actress reasoned that she should be ranked in the top slot because she has never played the woman’s card to succeed in the industry. She said, “I have never had any woman card, and I don’t follow the rat race. I believe in direct communication, speaking to people face-to-face with eye contact. My opinions and individuality are the reasons why I was called to participate in Bigg Boss OTT, even after having such a successful career for many years. I always follow instructions and respect the orders of those in positions of authority.”

While many netizens accused her of maintaining a rather saintly image on the show, after she was seen giving advice to contestants as well as consoling them when they broke down, the actress maintained that she has always been like that in real life too and wouldn’t change her persona for the show. “I don’t have an addiction to the spotlight, camera, or attention. I was born into this industry, and I will remain a part of it until the end. My life doesn’t come to an end after Bigg Boss. Therefore, I won’t engage in activities that would disappoint my fans just for attention. Successful careers aren’t achieved through chance and talent, but ultimately, it’s about what we are made of,” she added.

Fans of Pooja Bhatt are extremely glad to see the actress in a new avatar in the reality show, however, on the other hand, many netizens are also calling out the platform of giving her preference and privileges. Besides Pooja Bhatt, the show currently also features Falaq Naaz, Jiya Shankar, Jad Hadid, Manisha Rani, Bebika Dhurve, Avinash Sachdev, Abhishek Malhan, Cyrus Broacha, among others as contestants.

With no other option, both Shahid Kapoor and Pankaj Kapur had to rush out of Nirula’s. The young actor then told his father not to take him out again. He added, “By virtue of distance, the interaction between him and me was anyway limited.”
