Tamannaah Bhatia joins John Abraham in Nikkhil Advani’s Vedaa

A high-octane action-drama, Vedaa recently commenced its shoot in Rajasthan. Eyeing a theatrical window in 2024, the movie is said to feature never-before seen sequences, in Advani’s characteristic story-telling craft. The film stars John Abraham & Sharvari Wagh. And now, they welcome a special addition to the cast, Tamannaah Bhatia, in a crucial role, outlining an important arc of the movie.

Excited about the collaboration, Tamannaah says, “I’ve always admired the way Nikkhil tells his stories. He has a knack and this ability of his is extremely endearing. John and I also get to work together for the first time ever. It definitely will be exciting to see what my character will bring in!”

Maintaining a tight lip about her role, Nikkhil says, “Tamannaah has always given sensational performances. When I approached her to play this special role, I was delighted that she immediately trusted my vision for this film. My team & I are thrilled to have her with us.”

Vedaa is directed by Nikkhil Advani and written by Aseem Arora and is produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment.

Bhumi Pednekar: “I’m glad that it has been hard to stereotype me because in this industry that’s the first thing that happens to anyone”

In an industry that stereotypes actors constantly, Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar has been a rare talent! Extremely versatile and considered one of the best actors of our generation with stellar performances since her debut in the Hindi film industry, Bhumi Pednekar hates to be put in a box.

Bhumi says, “I’m fortunate that as an actor, I have not been put in a box. I have dabbled many genres, been part of commercial as well as edgy, disruptive films and fortunate enough to find projects that try and affect social change like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bala, Badhaai Do, etc.”

She adds, “I’m glad that it has been hard to stereotype me because in this industry that’s the first thing that happens to anyone. I have only tried to break the mould with every film, with every role. I like disruption. I will always look to do the same. I hate doing the routine. I hate doing similar films and roles. It doesn’t creatively inspire me.” Bhumi promises that audiences will be pleasantly surprised to see her dabble in multiple genres in her next slate of movies.

She says, “So, one can always expect the unexpected from me. The Ladykiller, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, Bhakshak and my future slate of projects are extremely distinct. Each project is fresh and has a newness to them and they will enable me to showcase my craft in the best possible way.”

Vignesh Shivan hints at romance between Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara in Jawan: ‘Already cherishing that with the happiness of such a dream debut with YOU’

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is ready to roar in the cinemas in September with director Atlee Kumar’s Jawan. After much anticipation, the first teaser, or what the makers are calling it as prevue, was unveiled on July 10, 2023. Friends, fans, colleagues and film industry people are equally hyping the mass movie. Actress Nayanthara, who makes her dream Hindi debut with the movie, is getting appreciated by her husband Vignesh Shivan. And his interaction with Shah Rukh Khan is going viral.

Vignesh had taken to Instagram to hail Atlee for “creating a banger for his Bollywood debut”. He also congratulated the cast including Shah Rukh Khan. King Khan responded to him by saying, “@VigneshShivN thank u for all the love. #Nayanthara is awesome…but oh who am I telling this…you toh already know!!! But Hubby, beware, she has now learnt some major kicks & punches!!”

Responding to him, Vignesh Shivan said that he is also excited for the romance part too. He wrote, “Soooo kind of you sir Yes sir being very careful but I also heard there is some good romance between the both of you in the movie , that she has learnt from the king of romance , so already cherishing that with the happiness of such a dream Debut with YOU #SRK the #KingofHearts #Badshaah #Jawan @Atlee_dir gonna be a massive global #Blockbuster.”

Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance, along with Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover and Mukesh Chhabra.

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation, directed by Atlee, Produced by Gauri Khan and Co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will release worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

Bhansali Productions celebrates 21 years of Devdas: “The Shah Rukh Khan starrer was a culmination of countless artistic elements woven together”

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his vibrant and larger-than-life visuals even while showcasing an everyday scene. He showed a glimpse of this vision of his early on in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But the film where the audience truly got to know his high scale cinematic mind was Devdas. The Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Jackie Shroff starrer completes 21 years today as it was released in 2002. It’s based on the story by the legendary author Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.

Even after more than two decades, Devdas continues to enchant the audience with Bhansali’s colourful frames and the poetic tragedy of Devdas (Khan) as he longs for his childhood love Paro (Aishwarya) but never gets reunited with her and eventually succumbs to alcoholism.

To commemorate the 21^st anniversary of Devdas, Bhansali Productions have shared a special video of some appealing scenes from the movie on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “Embarking on an enchanting journey where love knows no bounds, Dev’s longing for Paro, intertwined with Chunni’s (Shroff) unwavering friendship and Chandramukhi’s (Madhuri) soulful solace, creates a tapestry of emotions that still resonates today. #21YearsOfDevdas.” The video showcases the entire journey of Devdas, from a childhood lover of Paro who eventually takes his last breath outside her house, without getting a final glimpse of her.

Shekhar Kapur’s divorce left daughter Kaveri with childhood trauma, says Suchitra Krishnamoorthi

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is a versatile actress, singer, and painter. She made her acting debut in the 1987 film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and has since starred in over 50 films. Besides her acting and singing career, Suchitra has also made headlines for her failed marriage with filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Recently, while speaking of their separation, Suchitra stated that her and Shekhar’s divorce left their daughter Kaveri with Childhood trauma. 

In a conversation with Bollywood Thikana, Suchitra asserted that whatever is reported about them is an ‘outsider’s perspective’. She said, “We are still parenting our child together. We are parents to a daughter and that relationship will always be there. I even tell him that he is a very good and committed father. My daughter is closer to him than she is to me.”

The Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa star continued, “She is definitely very affected by what happened between me and Shekhar.” On being asked if Kaveri suffers from childhood trauma, Suchita agreed, “Yes, for sure.” 

Explaining further, Suchitra added, “Every parent does the best they can. Every child has trauma, especially children in broken homes of public figures. Imagine that child being told by others, ‘Maine ye suna, maine ye padhaa, kya aisa hai (I read this. I heard that. Is that true?)’ and children aren’t equipped to deal with this. They are very sensitive. It’s a very delicate… They are trying to balance their affection between their parents, so it’s a very tricky situation for them.” 

As the conversation progressed, the Odd Couple actress shared her thoughts on single parenting and said, “Single parenting is very tough. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and imagine, I was doing it alone. It takes up a lot of your time and energy. My head was filled with worry and concern all the time.”

Coming to the professional front, the 47-year-old actress-singer was last seen in Amazon Prime Video’s Guilty Minds, which was released in 2022. She recently released her latest single, ‘Shararat.’
