CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi to watch OMG Oh My God 2 today after the Akshay Kumar-starrer was referred to the Revising Committee

Last week, Bollywood Hungama reported that the upcoming Akshay Kumar film, OMG Oh My God 2, has faced a little hindrance, thanks to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The Examining Committee (EC) of the CBFC referred the film to the Revising Committee (RC). As per reports, the decision was taken as OMG Oh My God 2 deals with religious issues and the committee wanted to make sure that it doesn’t hurt any sentiments. Reportedly, the CBFC is over-cautious about such films after they got slammed for passing Adipurush with zero cuts, whose dialogues and scenes raised a hue and cry.

Bollywood Hungama has now exclusively learnt that the screening for the Revising Committee will take place today, that is, on Monday, July 17. Prasoon Joshi, the chairperson of the CBFC, will be a part of this screening.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Usually, the Chief Executive Officer of the CBFC, Ravinder Bhakar, awards the certificate. His signature is seen on almost all the censor certificates. But in the case of OMG Oh My God 2, Prasoon Joshi himself will go through the film and make a decision accordingly. He has decided to spearhead the RC as the CBFC wants to be fully sure that OMG Oh My God 2 doesn’t have any scene or dialogue that can cause a problem.”

Industry insiders, however, are confident that OMG Oh My God 2 will sail through the censor process. An expert commented, “Did the first part of OMG Oh My God cause any controversy despite its content? The makers had smartly made that film and taken a balanced approach. The second part is also handled in the same manner. Let’s not forget that Akshay Kumar himself is quite religious and would never agree to be a part of a film that can hurt religious sentiments. of his beloved fans.”

OMG Oh My God 2 features Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva and it also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. It releases on August 11 and will clash with Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 in cinemas.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh share laughs on ‘What Jhumka’ set in new video

A few days after the release of the second song ‘What Jhumka’ from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, lead actors Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh dropped the video of the behind-the-scenes of the song. The duo had a blast laughing and enjoying the vibe of the song while shooting the big dance number.

In the video, Alia Bhatt says, “In a Karan Johar movie, a song is like another character.” Ranveer Singh added, “There was unanimous agreement. We had 200-300 dancers on set and everybody was just telling one another how this song is gonna bang.”

The song is an homage to the 1966 song ‘Jhumka Gira Re’ from the movie Mera Saaya. However, the song only uses the instrumental of it instead of recreating the entire track. The song has been crooned by Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi with rap verses from Ranveer Singh.

Viacom18 Studios and Dharma Productions present A Dharma Productions film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta, is all set to hit the big screen on 28th July 2023.

EXCLUSIVE: Varun Dhawan on perception building of movies through box-office collections: “Today we are shoving numbers in everyone’s faces”

Bawaal promotions are on in full swing. The cast Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor along with director Nitesh Tiwari recently sat down with Bollywood Hungama to talk about the film taking the digital route, the importance of OTT platforms and their film as a whole. Varun Dhawan mentioned how the industry shoves box office numbers in everyone’s faces and that it has become a part of perception building.

The conversation began around how Bawaal was made for the big screen and eventually ended on the digital platform. Eventually when talking about movies in theatres vs released digitally, Varun said that all that mattered was the audience’s response. However, he admitted that the industry loves to throw box office numbers instead of wondering if the movie was appreciated or not. He said, “Back in the day, we would enjoy simply watching films. At that time, the numbers for such a great, iconic, cult classic like Andaz Apna Apna weren’t great. Now when you remember it, you’re like wow. But which I feel is our fault only as an industry is that today we are shoving numbers in everyone’s faces. We all are doing, even I’m doing it. I’m not saying I’m holier than thou but I’m just saying the shoving of numbers has become so much for perception, for image. We are doing that a lot that the discussion of good and bad is becoming secondary.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, Bawaal is a timeless love story by Sajid Nadiadwala’s production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures. The film will premiere on Prime Video India on July 21.

Wimbledon 2023: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas attend Women’s Singles Finals in England, share pictures

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas took time out from their busy schedules to attend the Women’s Singles Finals at the 2023 Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Saturday, which was held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England.

The two were seen holding hands as they arrived to watch Czech player Marketa Vondrousova defeat Tunisian player Ons Jabeur to win the Women’s Singles Finals. Nick shared a series of photos and captioned the post, “Beautiful day out at the tennis with my . Such an honor to sit in the Royal box and watch @marketavondrousova win her first grand slam.”

For the same, Priyanka Chopra wore a printed white green and black printed dress with black leggings. She tied her hair in high half-ponytail. Nick Jonas looked dapper in a beige suit with a white shirt.

Karan Johar admits ‘lineage benefit’ as Shanaya Kapoor bags Mohanlal’s Vrushabha

Filmmaker Karan Johar is encouraging Shanaya Kapoor who has bagged a Mohanlal project Vrushabha. She is a talent under Johar’s talent agency and the filmmaker is proud of her. However, he does admit that she is privileged and has lineage benefit.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday following the announcement of the film, Karan wrote, “Some journeys are perceived as privileged some are also given the tag of lineage benefit … and all of that is true but in you Shanaya @shanayakapoor02 I have only seen a girl who dreamt of nothing but being a pure artist and facing the camera only when you had put in all that immense hard work and so much passion.”

The film will be a big-budget project with Shanaya playing a pivotal role. Zarah S Khan, and Roshann Meka will also be seen in supporting roles. Nanda Kishore will direct the film. AVS Studios, First Step Movies, and Balaji Telefilms back it.

The movie is set to go on floors this month and will release in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu.
