With Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan has once again delivered a massive blockbuster. Helmed by Atlee, the film has collected Rs. 442.73 crore at the box office in India and continues to soar in the cinemas. Following a successful press conference last Friday, Shah Rukh Khan greeted the fans on Sunday outside his Mumbai residence, Mannat in Bandra.

Videos of the actor have gone viral on social media as the actor blew flying kisses and even did his signature pose to greet the fans. The actor wore a blue T-shirt and black shades and was sporting his long hair.

At a press conference on September 15, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Jawan is an Indian soldier, Jawan is an Indian mother, Jawan is an Indian girl, Jawan is an Indian vigilante, and you have to understand that Jawan many times, is very weak because it’s all of us and many times, he’s ready for a fight. Jawan is wrong many times, but very many times, he’s also right. Jawan, sometimes will live in the darkness. Sometimes, Jawan will be the one who will be emanating the light, and finally, all of us, and every Indian is Jawan who is upright. Honesty, goodness, love, and that’s what the whole movie stands for.”

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film was released on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

Soni Razdan fondly reminisces about her double-decker BEST bus journeys; says, “Bye bye Bombay busses”

Soni Razdan, the renowned actress, took a nostalgic trip down memory lane and shared her reflections on her college days and meetups with friends in Mumbai, aboard the iconic double-decker BEST buses. She fondly recounted how these bus journeys offered her a unique perspective into the city and its people.

Accompanied by several pictures comparing the old and new BEST buses, Soni penned a heartfelt note on her social media platform. She reminisced, saying, “And one more icon bids us adieu. Bombay’s and Mumbai’s double decker bus of yore, which I grew up with … and which I used everyday going to college and to meet friends in Colaba. Still remember the thrill of clambering up the noisy stairs and finding the front seats empty. The streets looked fascinating from there. Just one ride gave one so much food for thought. I remember the proximity to some buildings in crowded streets and many a time would get a glimpse into the rooms yonder. Life was teeming in every direction where people went about their day … be it eating or cleaning or getting a child ready. In some streets dancing girls would be practising, in others people hanging out of their windows watching the world go by while I watched them all, fascinated. If I had been an artist all that would have been my inspiration, and my ‘houses’ would be works of art in some gallery somewhere by now. Maybe some inherited affinity from my architect father perhaps ! Nowadays may not travel by the lovely new ones, but I fondly remember the old. Bye bye Bombay busses.”

Raaj Kamal Films announces the re-release of Kamal Haasan starrer silent black comedy Pushpak

In the time of re-release of some of the biggest blockbusters of South superstars, Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan starrer the evergreen black comedy drama Pushpak which released with multiple titles for different language-speaking audiences, is all set to rerelease in theatres. The production house Raaj Kamal Films International, fondly referred a RKFI, took to social media to make this announcement about India’s rarest silent black comedy film, also starring an ensemble cast with Amala as the leading lady.

Although they are yet to divulge a date, the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, read, “#Pushpak #Pesumpadam, a pioneer in silent black comedy and an iconic masterpiece of Indian cinema, will be re-released in theatres soon.” The film is directed by Singheetham Srinvasa Rao. Speaking of the film, Pushpak revolves around an unemployed graduate who encounters a drunk rich unconscious man and takes over his lifestyle after keeping him as a prisoner. However, he does not realise the dangers he has brought upon himself because a hired killer believes him to be his target.

The film was released on November 27, 1987 with different titles for different linguistic regions. Its original title was in Kannada called Pushpaka Vimana (The Flower Chariot), Pushpaka Vimanam in Telugu, Pesum Padam (Talking Picture) in Tamil, Pushpakvimanam in Malayalam, and Pushpak (Flower) for Hindi-speaking regions.

The film featured a star cast from different parts of the country, and apart from Kamal Haasan and Amala, it also starred Samir Khakhar, Tinu Anand, K. S. Ramesh, Farida Jalal, Pratap Potan, Lokanath, P. L. Narayana and Ramya. Interestingly, the film also doesn’t feature any character names because of its silent nature.

Pushpak received a lot of recognition owing to its experiment of creating a black comedy without dialogues and received rave reviews from critics and art-film lovers.

The couple, along with their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, were seen spending some quality time amid the musical tour of the Jonas brothers as they rang in the birthday of the American pop singer. Recently, PC took to social media to give a glimpse of how they celebrated her hubby’s birthday, wherein, she also gave Nickyanka fans a sneak peek into the doting father that Nick is.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas took to Instagram to share photos of them partying as well as indulging in some golfing together. In the past, the actress has opened up about how golfing has been one of their favourite things to do during the weekend. On the special day of Nick Jonas too, the couple were seen having fun on the golf court. Along with this, she also posted an adorable photo where Nick is seen feeding their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. With the photos, Priyanka also penned a heartfelt birthday note for her husband saying, “Celebrating you is the greatest joy of my life. You have pushed me in ways I didn’t know was possible.. shown me peace like I have never known.. and loving like only you can.. I love you my birthday guy! I hope all your dreams always come true… Happy birthday baby <3” She signed off the note by tagging Nick Jonas and adding a feeling-loved emoji.

BREAKING: Milap Zaveri joins hands with Rohit Shetty for the first time for a feature film with Singham Again

On September 16, it came to light that one of the most awaited films of 2024, Singham Again, went on floors. Director Rohit Shetty and actors Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh were seen at the mahurat of the film, which was held at Mumbai’s YRF Studios on Saturday. As expected, the pictures of the mahurat went viral. Akshay Kumar, who’s also a part of the film, could not make it but gave his good wishes.

Meanwhile, one more piece of information also came to the fore. Milap Zaveri, known for writing massy dialogues and directing commercial entertainers, has come on board for Singham Again. He has penned the dialogues and is also one of the writers besides Yunus Sajawal and Shantanu Srivastava.

Milap Zaveri himself broke the news as he posted the mahurat picture on his social media handles. He wrote, “It’s my honour to write the dialogues for #SinghamAgain and be part of the writing team with @sajawalyunus @ishantanus and all! Thanks to @itsrohitshetty sir for believing in me!!!”

A few hours later, he posted a picture where he can be seen posing with Rohit Shetty. The caption with this pic was, “AALI RE AALI AATA MAAZI BAARI AALI to write dialogues for the LIONHEARTED @itsrohitshetty…It’s been a dream come true to work with a maestro of Mass like him! The appreciation, faith and encouragement he gives a person instills full confidence into everyone! Love you and thank you for #SinghamAgain”

Milap Zaveri had earlier written screenplay and dialogues for Rohit Shetty’s Ranveer Ching Returns, a video made as part of the promotions of the Chings brand. It starred Ranveer Singh and Tamannaah Bhatia. Singham Returns, however, marks the first film where Milap and Rohit have collaborated.

An industry insider commented, “Rohit Shetty and Milap Zaveri both believe in mass cinema. Rohit’s films require dramatic and clapworthy dialogues that can uplift a scene. Milap Zaveri is apt for it as he has proved his worth in such films multiple times.”

Besides Singham Returns, Milap Zaveri has also penned Sharman Joshi’s next with his Style (2002) co-star Sahil Khan. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama in August 2022, Milap Zaveri said, “I’ve written the dialogue for Sanjay Gupta’s The Miranda Brothers, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Meezaan Jafri. It’s my seventh film with Sanjay Gupta’s company after Kaante (2002), Plan (2004), Musafir (2004), Woodstock Villa (2008), Shootout At Wadala (2013) and Alibaug. I am writing dialogues for his next film too. I am also writing the story, screenplay and dialogues for Mohit Suri’s next and the story, screenplay and dialogues for Kookie Gulati’s next. I am also penning the screenplay and dialogues for Remo D’Souza’s next film as well as writing his web series.” In the same interview, he also assured that he’ll soon announce his next, which is an action drama.

Singham Returns, meanwhile, is the fifth part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe after Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014), Simmba (2018) and Sooryavanshi (2021). As per reports, Arjun Kapoor plays the antagonist in Singham Again.
